And, just when Nolan thought his day couldn't get any tougher, Sergeant Grey informs him that he will do everything in his power to discourage him from continuing to serve, as he fears that Nolan's "mid-life crisis' will endanger the lives of his officers.

Also, again there's a point to be made that by leaving the other officer she nearly got killed, yes she handled it but it would've been a lot less risky if he stuck with her. Everything going as well as it did was due to luck rather than judgement

No rational person can say Nolan didnt make the right call by leaving bishop to help the cops getting shot at. The other cops were being LITERALLY SHOT AT and one of them was ALREADY shot. If this happened irl and Nolan got fired for it, *I’D* be pissed
Personally, If I was Nolan's LT or CPT, I'd have suspended him for toxic leadership and hazing. Hell, In the Army, I'd be typing up Nolan's citation for initiative and bravery.

Savage Wolf Guns are 100x louder in real life. Have you ever shot a gun without ear protection? Your ears ring for half an hour and it’s hard of hearing for a little.
Bullet proof Crown Vic might be accurate to real life. If she's behind the car and they are shooting into the front, the engine is going to stop those bullets. Sure, from pretty much any other angle, bullets are going to go right through. They just won't do it from that angle.
I love the seemingly infinite ammo, no regard for crossfire, EMS rolling up without clearance, and the one officer shooting with the slide on her gun locked back

I also like that when Officer Nolan shot in self-defense, T.O. Bishop said he’s now a murder suspect. And also while they made a close-up shot on John Nolan’s weapon you could clearly see that’s it’s a prop.
I also love the occasional holster hoods being down for no reason, creating a huge risk for the officers. Even Tim Bradford does it later in the show.

As a person whose getting trained as an emt I can say EMS will never roll up while shots are being fired. There’s something called scene safety
I like how Grey bonded with Nolan over the course of the season.
I think there would be a little more than 3 units when the call goes out for officer down. Shots fired. And the EMS doesn’t pull when the shooting is still going on.
An interesting concept for a show that will literally defeat its whole purpose and uniqueness as it goes on.
Wow this show has so many issues with it. This has no realism whatsoever and the policy’s of actual departments were violated many times.

If they are tactical ems sure, but my county and those in my state are under standing orders to stage back and wait until the scene is clear.

Exactly, everyone says there's Tactical EMS sometimes but that didn't look like it, yet I'm not an expert. Idk a lot about they LAPD. They probably should've waited for additionals as well, and preferably a panic button or something. But hey, it's just a show after all. It could be worse lol

The fact that he calls him Officer Nolan since the start shows he respects him as a fellow officer.
CO's usually use titles. It's part of the chain of command and discipline.
Gonna be honest they should not have blamed Nolan for Bishop getting attacked. She could have waited for backup before trying to cuff him.

When you watch the later seasons it’s nice to see how they became more experienced and highly competent police officers

So unrealistic. First up, EMS, never enter a scene without a C4 if there is shots fired or something. And most of the time hostage sits the negotiator is not aiming his gun to get the aggressor to get more calm.

Am I the only one that feels like Grey was a terrible leader in season 1? Like he became one of my favorite characters later on but in season 1 he didn't seem like a tough but fair watch commander, just a pompous, toxic, demoralizer.
Like I get trying to weed out someone you don't think is cut out for the job, but when your reasoning to try and sabotage an officer's career is literally just "he old." You aren't protecting your other officers, you are just a butt hurt idiot.
I'm glad they started writing him better/giving him character development because I fucking love later season Grey.

He wasnt surrendering in the slightest and was previously willing to kill cops. This will be seen as justified based of the idea that the suspect showed no signs of care for the lives of other ppl or taking them and the knife was still at her throat.
Every episode I see on youtube of this ticks me off, it could be really good, but there is soooo many things wrong with the episodes :/
