- Finally got my hands on a CF grille for the m340i! I like how it looks I just hate the blocked off active grille look. The only mod I've seen to not have CEL with open grille was to cut them completely out so maybe I'll do that lol Drop a thumbs up & subscribe to the channel

I heard someone with a m340i cut them and still got CEL leaving the motor plugged in & had to delete it through the tune somehow so idk I’m skeptical 😂
@@Freshhkiicks Oh shit I have not heard of a CEL after cutting. Maybe they cut at the wrong piece. I think as long as you leave the rotating arm in place and just cut the slat it still operates like normal. It's pretty common on the X3 M40i's so maybe look there too.

I like it. For the active grill seach up on youtube how to delete it, its only been done to the 540i g30 but should be the exact same for m340, they basically just cut the plastic flaps but leave the motor alone so it can just spin but not actually open or close anything since theres nothing there to close, no check engine light since the car thinks its opening/closing something still. FullBoltOn Garage has a good video on it.

The grille is sweet but I think they could have made the middle of it carbon fibre too and not just the outer frame . Maybe get the fins wrapped carbon fibre to match

Looks better for sure but I think it would look best if the frame was black too. Carbon is cool but I think it's too much. Carbon fiber on carbon fiber looks weird.

Active grills are nice because they will help car get to temperature quicker, theoretically helping car last longer if all else is maintained. Too bad you can’t have switch for it to leave open when car is off…

@@Freshhkiicks yeah, for engines with bigger displacement it’s easier, but you’d be surprised. My car has a small displacement and when it’s 40*~ out the car takes an easy 10 minutes to get warm (driving), and you can’t have the heater on. If I turn the heater on even a little I watch the coolant temperature drop. It makes sense though because all manufacturers are going to small displacement with boost so it really is effective

just bought these oem ones so not anytime soon. Didn't find any reliable source with slotted/ drilled for m340i when I needed them.
