That Bruce Wayne Kenner t-shirt is amazing haha. I had some of the Toy Biz stuff before the Kenner figures came out, and got super heavy into the Kenner line for Batman Returns. Seeing this stuff again is always awesome. One of my favorite variants was the Arctic Batman, I loved the contrast of the costume and the armor/helmet combo. Special shout-out to the blue and gray repaint of the movie costume that you’ve got in front of the cave in that one shot, he was my “comic” Batman for a long time haha. That Batcave compound was awesome, and DEFINITELY got a lot of use. My original one is long gone, but I still have the Batman Forever version at my Dad’s house. From what I’ve read, it was originally meant for the ‘89 Dark Knight collection, which makes sense if you look at the cave layout looking like the ‘89 movie. The back part was meant to be the Axis Chemical factory, where Joker could fall through the trap door into the vat. I guess they didn’t get it out in time but just repurposed it into a Batman Returns set. Either way, I was so happy to have it. It’s still such a fun set. I still love that Robin figure, it got a ton of use since my Toy Biz one broke. Plus I was happy to have an accurate comic Robin at the time haha. Awesome video man, I love seeing throwback stuff like this.
I’ll get on my soapbox about getting an updated 6 inch version of that Robin 😂 my brother had that white attic Batman and he was awesome with the pop on some helmet. Almost cone shaped if I recall. I love the colors of the Batman Forever playset. You would think because they made it so many times after market prices wouldn’t be too crazy but it’s still pretty expensive. I also forgot to mention but I remember how the Toy Biz vehicles had more of that plastic sheen when all the Kenner had that matte finish. Always loved going to a friends house who had those vehicles. Thanks for checking this one out! Was trying not to copy off yours too much!
Still my Favourite Robin Action Figure to date! I had most of the Batman Returns line as a kid, apart from the vehicles. I had the Toy Biz batmobile from my cousin when he "grew up and didn't play with toys anymore!" Haha. Its a shame they don't really make these type of lines anymore. Yeah we got NECA etc but these were round the £4 mark when they came out here in the UK in 92/93 (£9 in today's money)
The Mcfarlane Super Powers line is probably the closest thing. I tried to get the Tim Drake Robin but my pre order was cancelled and it sold out. Hahah loved those hand me downs. The good thing about those old Kenner toys is they are fairly cheap so if you wanted to recreate that collection you could. I’m always keeping on eye out for Frost Bite from the Batman and Robin movie figures
There was some great historical information I found very interesting. Love revisiting 1989's batman. Was there opening weekend in the theater with my father.
@@thomasgoesnostalgic There was so much to cover, and you covered some new ground. Actually like that you did a playset, the stuff with Catwoman, The Wayans stuff, OH, and opening old toys...it is weirdly like solemn, or almost sacrilege, I feel, lol.
Thank you! Been sitting on those figures a long time and when I realized it was Batman Day I thought what better day to do it. Been doing so many unboxings, I really wanted to get a retrospective in there. Got some more on the way.
