I remember one of my old man’s buddies introduced me to the XR’s, and he explained how he mailed out his XR250 motor to have a big bore kit installed. Would always bug him to let me kick it over. That bike was a monster! Here I am decades later and it looks and feels like a kids bike lol. Extremely dependable machine right there. That bike could use a Hot Cam, big bore kit, and CRF fork swap and rear rebuild. Maybe a new FMF. Man that thing brings back memories. WHO REMEMBERS THE “ROOST BOOST”!!!!!!!!! 🇺🇸
I had a 2006 MazdaSpeed6, 6 speed manual trans, 2.2 turbo.. AWD, it was a rocket around the corners. So close to that car you have. Great cars. Smooth as butter. Miss it.
WRONG!!!! That bike Was a Yamaha XT!!!! That particular gem has won me many dollar bills over the years lol!!!! Watch the scene again, try and ignore the incorrect soundtrack (two stroke engine sounds) and Sly unmercifully twisting the throttle and stomping on the shift lever. Yamahaaaaaaaaaaaa!M!
Its all good brother!!! The instant giveaways are the classic 1980’s Yamaha front fender, and the round tubing original style Mono-X rear swinger. Plus a few times you can see “XT” on the tank. It still drives me nuts hearing the two stroke engine sounds dubbed in that scene, there was no need to do that !!!!

Too bad the seats aren't like they were in the 70's and early 80's. I find the newer style seats are ball busters. If I feel the steel of a decent tank, readjust! I miss the railroads and power lines I used to ride way back in the day

My dad had the red white and blue xr200 when I was a kid, we rode it everywhere. We also would rebuild it in the kitchen floor.

So I had the 82 XR what a tank that thing was. Point it and go. Sold it to a friend that still has it. And I ride a 89 today. Great bikes.
My 87 xr has a 280 kit and you used to just lightly put the throttle on and the front wheel came up
