An RCE is very alarming. It’s full compromise, anything goes on a whim of the threat actor. Though, we still don’t know the scope of what he can do, if it is limited to client side (the players on the network affected) or he has also an access to Respawn’s network though it can be unlikely if the company network is well designed, following required good practice, and the attacker only can affect the customer-facing services (the game client, the client/player network, and the servers that offers the services)
Judging from what I’ve seen live, I think he doesn’t have access on Respawn’s side or maybe he has but he is just destroying Apex’s image using such scenario, letting people online exacerbate it and link it with whatever issues respawn or EA or Apex Legends have, letting them do his remaining work of staining the game’s reputation.
What fiasco?
ALGS hacking incident earlier. Some big players were given hacks mid-game during the finals. ALGS paused and delayed until further notice.
