That was a beautiful analogy about everyday life. More people in today's society need this understanding

Dude Adam is literally a kung fu movie master. He probably had no idea too until his students talked him into this channel lol.
That's how my shotokan sensei was coming up. Taught me how to live not just fight.

Frustration is learning energy. If you're not frustrated, you're not challenged and if you're not challenged you're not learning. Learning is literally your brain and body changing, and change that matters hurts. Don't let frustration make you think something's wrong. Frustration means a) you're new and b) you care. Neither of those means you're failing. Thank you, Adam and Chris, for putting this together.

I recall reading in a famous ancient Samurai book (Hagakure or 5 Rings -- not sure) that "important life decisions should be made in 7 seconds or less", and minor things thought through carefully. This was to encourage bold instinctual action in battle, and to deter us from making a habit of hesitation. Really appreciated your insights. Thank you!

There is a country western song called Second Guessing. When you speak the words dont' second guess, know that words , sounds, frequency have power. The line in the country western song, was don't spend a second, guessing. Your Ike, enlightened inner child, having been born, and reprogrammed, now a seperate, but connected part of you is also the Hawaiian word for Universal knowledge. Know that words have multiple meanings, in this case, unit of time, number sequence. Great video. Jessie used what may be referred to as reptilian back to provide the forward pressure while maintaining balance, instead of leaning from your waist. Again, great video. Thanks

So this ties in to the scene from Enter the Dragon, "Don't think! FEEEEEL", "How did it feel to you?".

Maybe, but consider how different are even a style of kung fu to another, or, better, how difficult can be doing anything you never did before, against a thing you did for years: a new job, a new sport (cycling instead of running), using sticks instead a fork to eat spaghetti (italian long pasta), etc. Our brain learns to do things automatically; even a little difference requires thinking instead of doing (the same that Adam said about the behavior during a real fight)... or he is only pretending to know other martial arts... ;)

Having learned many different martial arts (I am a Nidan in Jujitsu, but have deeply studied Aikido, FMA, Krav Maga, MMA, Wing Chun & Capoeria) I can tell you it is often harder to learn a new martial art having been grounded in a foundation ---because you have extra work to do overriding the nueropathways of the previous or primary martial art. It actual can take longer & be much more challenging than a raw newbie.
