Join Travel with the Hale's on an adventure to Tanzania, where we explore the amazing "Big 5", diversity of culture and breathtaking scenery. But what about the birds? Tanzania is a paradise for birding enthusiasts, with a wide variety of unique and beautiful species waiting to be discovered. The Crowned Crane, the national bird of Tanzania, is a sight to behold with its pink feathered body and skinny legs gracefully walking thru the water. . Their striking beauty is sure to leave you amazed. We also encountered the Golden Eye Eagle, known to inhabit Africa, Asia, and Europe, as well as the affectionate and intelligent Love Birds. Did you know that the ostrich, although unable to fly, is a remarkable bird with three stomachs and the ability to sprint up to 70 km/h. The Secretary Bird, with its unique appearance mimicking the dress worn by secretaries, and the massive stork with a wingspan of up to 3.7m also made appearances during our birdwatching experience. We were fortunate to spot the Tawny Eagle, a species on the brink of extinction, and the Yellow Billed Stork, known for its fast-swallowing reflex. And in case you were wondering, we did not come across the mythical bird that brings babies during our trip! Thank you for tuning in to Travel with The Hale's and watching our birdwatching adventure in Tanzania. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more exciting travel content!

0:17 Crown crane is not the national bird of Tanzania, but it is the national bird of Uganda!

Yes, the grey crowned crane is the official national bird of Uganda. And Tanzania has claimed it as well according to the research I found. I can understand that this fantasizing bird is so popular.

The issue with birding in Tanzania is the size of the country, it is almost 4 times bigger than Uganda, but it doesn't have 4 times as many species. Minimum 1040 species have been recorded in Uganda.

Thank you for the information. I should add Uganda on my next list of travel destinations. I know it would be an amazing country to visit and explore.
