    @Newman8881 It was a GT (I think), hence the "GT40" moniker. It's absolutely beautiful. Every once in a while - say, twice a year - I take it out and really go through it, polishing it, checking it out, making any necessary repairs, etc. It's about as stunning a model car as I've ever seen, and it's a never ending source of enjoyment.
    Models above 1:12 are large scale, but we've seen 1:6 and 1:8 scale. I've even seen 1:4 scale. BIG dollars, there!
    Thanks for watching!

    @HortonKansas Absolutely agree - Exotos can appreciate drastically. This one, however, was re-released a while back - still affordable. Killer model! It's one that you can re-visit several times, and always find something new to appreciate!
    Thanks for watching!

    You should get BIG credit considering I JUST bought this Exoto Ford GT based in good part on your excellent video tour! Mine came with some VERY small parts unattached. Hoping Exoto will steer me right on where these bits belong.

      Hello, James!
      Wow, thanks, man! I'm glad that the video helped. That's part of the fun of doing these - some great models out there to talk about, and it gives guys a chance to see what the cars can do (or not do, LOL). If you'd like, take a photo of the loose parts and post them to the Heavy Metal Models Facebook page (Heavy Metal Models). I'd bet that there are some collectors there who could be of help. Me, too.
      Thanks for watching!

      ***** Great, James - and say hello to Gram for me. Nice to see a father/son sharing the hobby - means a lot, and I wish more dads would do it.

    @Newman8881 It's more about exclusivity with the larger scale models - and most of them are limited in numbers when compared to the smaller scale offerings. There's also (usually) a more intense level of detail and features - hence a more intensive build required. That being said, we've seen a couple of large scale models made by Premium Classixx (BUB) and Motormax (1:12 Porsches and Ford GTs, to be exact) that ticketed for under $200.00.
    Thanks for watching!

    @Newman8881 It's really "Apples and Oranges:" - those Real Art cars are amazing pieces, but they're built more to the aesthetic of museum models - resin bodies, very large scale, and a limited amount of working features, designed and built more for representative static display and occasional hands-on fun, as compared to the Exoto, which is diecast, fully-featured, and meant to be enjoyed as much on display as in hand.

      Joe Kelly, Jr. Last line from the tune "Born In The USA" by Bruce Springsteen where he say "I'm a long gone daddy in the USA but I'm a cool rocking daddy in the USA". : )

    Nice tour of the model. I'd like to see you reviewing the Williams FW14B F1 car from Exoto, which is also such a gorgeous model.

    @sandrochatlos1 Yep! Diecast Promotions made a 1:6 1957 Corvette (also reviewed on this channel) a while back. Pretty outrageous model!

    Great model. Is this model a prototype race car or GT class in Le Mans?
    How big the model will consider is "VERY LARGE" scale model?

  • @Newman8881
    @Newman8881 Před 13 lety

    Thank for the reply! As u say there is big dollars for the large scale model, but why in general scale 1:12(or above) are usually much more expensive than the 1:18? Is it because 1:12 assemble by more parts / more difficult to make / produce in less numbers?

  • @CarbonCub
    @CarbonCub Před 10 lety

    Nice video. Just a correction to your description. That's a dry sump oil tank in the front end under the hood, and not a coolant tank.
