As of January 2024, the project to build Koh Tonsay coastal road to Angkol beach in Kep province is about 95% completed. This was stated by HE Som Piseth, Governor of Kep Province with PNN in mid-January 2024.
It should be noted that this road was built on the seashore connecting Koh Tonsay port to Angkol beach with a length of more than 12 kilometers.
Currently, the construction process is about 95% complete. The work achieved includes, firstly, the road for cars with a width of 6-10 meters, paved with AC type rubber, achieved 100%, the second is the road for cycling with a width of 3-3.5 meters has been completed. Nearly 100% and the third pedestrian street with a width of 1.5 meters and a length of 12.7 km has not been built yet, including the installation of public street lighting, but HE said that will be completed soon.
In addition, HE Hope strongly believes that after the completion of the construction, there will be a double number of tourists flocking to Kep to relax, especially this road will be able to avoid all the crowds of tourists in Kep beach resort as well.
It should be noted that this project was built under the funds of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with an investment capital of about $ 10.5 million.
This one-lane road project will be an important tourist artery connecting Kep beach and Angkol beach. This stretch of coastal road is a tourist artery connecting to the future of Angkor Beach. This road will lead to more national and international tourists to visit Kep more and will also avoid freezing tourists' houses to visit Kep beach.
The coastal road project is a sub-project of the ADB's Phase II Mekong Tourism Basin for Tourism Growth in the Greater Mekong Subregion, including two sub-projects, including a landfill. Recently inaugurated and transferred to the provincial administration for further management and the port project on Koh Tonsay.
