Nintendo tweeted that all Wii U and 3DS online services are shutting down in April of 2024. We assume this means that Super Mario Maker will no longer be playable, since playing it requires those same online services.

If you don’t know, the Wii U is losing its online feature in 2024. You’ll still be able to play offline in Mario Maker, so download as many levels as you can. This’ll also mean that Super Expert runs on the channel won’t exist unless Ryu decides to build his own levels.

@ayeokay.3408 No you can't, because you can't play Super Mario Maker 1 on the Switch. Not all levels in Mario Maker 1 can be made in Mario Maker 2.

If you get 10% of midairs, on average, you would need some 0.1^12 = 10,000,000,000 attempts to beat that level.
Even if you were an absolute master who nailed 50% of midairs, consistently, without getting tired or anxious, you would still require over 4,000 attempts to do it.
It's not happening.
Nintendo shutting down online play servers is super sad. Too bad there isn't a way to download all the levels and host them on a custom server. Appreciate all the years of amazing content Ryu.

is that even possible though? I heard that some levels feature some sort of ghost jumps or some glitchy stuff which were patched later on

What he's saying is he can't do that while he is streaming/recording for youtube. Would be rather useless if he ends the run so just he could beat the level. The point of beating the level is for the run to continue.

Just wanted to bring awareness to the experimental MM1 server for Cemu. You can only play the 100 Mario challenge with random levels from the database BUT it's a start to keeping the nostalgia alive

I think I have seen other Mario Maker CZcamsrs do levels like the stacked koopas with a ground pound. I am surprised he never tried that.

Yeah, groundpound and hold left to drift slightly out of the way of the falling koopas works in MM2 but I'm not 100% about MM1.

@@DHankins19 don't misunderstand me I do agree with you. I have my own issues with the 3DS but while I'm not much of an online player, never have been, I can see the issue at hand. I guess the assumption is that anyone who uses the old ones will move to the new. Or something along those lines at least.

@@DHankins19: You can still play the game, but it will be limited to what's on your device. No more downloading stuff or anything else that uses internet services. For better or worse, it will be a return to olden times by making the WiiU an equivalent of the NES, SNES, and N64.
The meta is to get Mario bros wonder right away as Nintendo first party games never drop in price. Sonic superstars is multiplatform and just like Frontiers is bound to price drop in a month.

In the koopa stage you made a simple error. You cant jump then duck and hook outside of straight line from low speed. You need to build a momentum then jump, duck, hit 2nd koopa and immediately hook left. Its not that hard if you realize that you have to have momentum for immediately movement after hitting a koopa
