CELPIP SPEAKING TRANSCRIPT CONTINUED: here which is extremely difficult but let's see we got uh this charity thing it'll give you satisfaction it'll grow you in Social Status many needy will get basic necessities and this charity will not only help your family in any this charity will not help your family in any material way so it's basically useless for you then the vacation is a great memory you'll still have some money left over and uh it'll distress you both from routine work life you will get to see new places people and cultures the problem here guys is there is nothing common you usually for example if there's two options you know one is $60,000 the other is $30,000 you can say well this one is $30,000 cheaper that way you can compare both within one sentence it saves you a lot of time and you can do multiple points within limited time so that's useful here it's not like that they're completely different topics but we could probably start with this one this charity will not only help your will not help your family at all uh and then in this case with the vacation you still have some money left over so I can combine these in my first sentence and start with that just so I have a good start afterwards I would have to move my mouse among all these points and show you where I'm speaking what I'm saying so follow my mouse movements to see how my mind is working and how my eyes are looking at this as well as how I'm speaking within the minute to score the best marks let's get started if you want to try to yourself you can pause the video Try speaking yourself then play the video compare yourself to my version see who is better if you talk like me or better you're going to score a 9 10 11 12 and if you don't you need work all right let's get started hey honey I understand you want to go for a vacation it'll be a great memory which is awesome for us Plus in my charity option we don't have any money left of course however you would have some money left over with your choice I understand further it'll distress you and me which we need right now plus seeing the new places people and just the amazing cultures not to mention the great Kines you get as an excuse will be an added bonus nonetheless remember we will get a much needed satisfaction personally which will improve our self-esteem and our character within ourselves not only that if we want to look at any material motive we will grow in Social Status among our peers however what we really want to consider is how many needy people will be getting assistance right now there are a record number of people starving and we have the chance to make a difference I hope you agree with giving this money for a charity let me know what you think talk to you soon all

right so 1 minute exactly um at the end I was a little more enthusiastic with my conclusion cuz I was try to finish at 55 seconds I mentioned this in my part one video if uh you have a 60-second question finish at 55 if you have a 90-second question finish at 85 aim for that cuz and at the end if you have those extra 5 Seconds you can use it to include any more words or concluding uh ideas to help yourself did you notice how quickly we were done this is very challenging for anyone to finish in a minute but we did it very effectively I made sure that uh well we started with this one so it was random because I wanted to start with the second point but I started by saying that it was a great memory uh then I combined what I said I would combine Point number two that you would have money left over with this point here with the charity where you will have no money okay so this is where we combined both points and then I went on to say everything about her points I was checking my time it was only 30 seconds and now I had all the Time in the World to do this this and this the first three bullet points of Charity that's what you want to do to aim to finish as many points as you can at the start and then when you have more time left you can elaborate the others and if you don't have more time left like too much extra time you would just be able to hopefully cover the ones that are already there did you listen to my connectors I used plus however nonetheless those are what I remember um you want to use connectors especially when you're moving back and forth however nonetheless right comparison words are very important and you can see after every point or sentence I was pausing in my mind I have to rush and you should Rush too to finish all of this but it doesn't show while you're speaking it should not show that you're rushing you should still sound like you're in control and it was very realistic you know not just saying the points here but giving examples like people are starving so we need that uh satisfaction would be good for our self-esteem and with the cuine with the people cultures I added the word cuines because I want to make it sound personal this is what I and my wife would like so we could we want to include our own words don't just copy paste words and uh explain your choices and the rationale behind them let's go to the next question this is one minute preparation one minute speaking your son wants to focus uh on his football career as he's really good at sports however your spouse wants him to be more pragmatic and quit Sports in order for him to F focus on his studies convince your son to drop out of his team and uh or convince your spouse to be confident in the s's decision once again I'm going to talk to my spouse I always choose the difficult part because talking to spouse is not easy so let's do that uh here you got to make sure you explain the situation first you're reasoning why you prefer something that the other person does not then apologize this is in part six you always want to apologize they're very rare questions where that doesn't work but 90% of the times cuz you are explaining something difficult telling someone something they don't want to hear so you got to apologize here we'll include that it is part of our templates too you can check out speaking template in the free CZcams video in the description if you don't know AET educations template you will not score a 10 plus okay so uh we'll do that and we'll finish with a reasonable conclusion based on the situation let me just show you instead of talking about it let's start by one minute hey honey I understand you have been very concerned about Bob's career choices his football right now and his performance with it is at its peak being at this Pinnacle it would be really unfair for him if we just tell him to quit right now he's near his finals we also not only us but also the coach himself sees him as becoming one of the greatest players of this country just imagine that imagine how huge that could be not only for him but for our our whole family I know you would not want to risk that especially for your beloved Son I apologize I know you you want me to be at your side in the situation however I really am seeing Pros in taking more risk in Bob's case please let me know what you think I hope you agree with me there you go 55 seconds and uh explain the situation really well in detail and again putting realistic examples making up situations right just imagine that you have this coach who is promising all these great things let's support him um apology was there look I need to be on your side I'm not I understand but I'm sorry what can I do all right and uh there's uh Parts these parts that I know that I'm going to do so the intro which was uh again introducing the situation after that pause giving my reasons is another 20 seconds pause this time I went like 30 seconds I think on that then I paused apology pause and then conclusion and finish right so that structure really helps in getting all of this done very nicely you keep seeing your time and you know when to move on from one point to the other uh keep it realistic explain it with proper reasoning and uh one more thing did you see my emphasis did you see my tone not robotic at all was really like I was trying to convince someone and that's what you want to do use good tone it is very important if you sound robotic you will lose marks so be natural and have emphasis next one second last one this is where you have to be pass

it presents for Humanity as well as mental health firstly we'll start with where I left off mental health at home any human being is bound to be depressed we need to explore the outdoors and we need to avidly do that in order to just open our Horizons not only to new opportunities but also new scenes new people as well as experiences being at home will just make us limited secondly going to the office again brings us that warmth of social experiences mingling with human beings is what humans were meant to do not suffocate in the closed doors and walls of their households finally I believe if you work at home you are going to have a negative impact towards your family health and lifestyle this detriment will lead to divorces which has been proven statistically when everybody worked from home in the last 2 years it'll also leave to arguments silence needed when people are working from home and a complete disruption of personal space for anyone at your place will we want that no it is an absolute no and a negative thing to choose to work from home which is why I prefer going to the office and working traditionally there you go okay so I had a few adverbs traditionally so I included that at the end avidly and I don't know there was one more I feel but uh I was on purpose doing adverbs because they give you marks okay and wherever I could do um a fancier word I did can't remember all of them but I remember one that I want to explain detriment detriment means harm okay so when I was saying it's going to be bad for you or negative for you then I was like I should have used detriment here and then I just made another sentence and said detriment there so it was in my mind that I got to I got to use I want to use this word you can replay the video and see how I did that but you got to be conscious all right you if you go in the exam you have perfect English no grammar mistakes but you talk day-to-day English you're not going to score nine plus you need to use a range of vocab adverbs adjectives structure all those things and advanced words so you have to be conscious and on purpose put these words and phrases in all these places so that's what I always do whenever I'm speaking it requires multitasking so make sure you practice a lot and uh be assertive uh speak like I did it's a little bit political you have to be like a politician uh and just really be aggressive with your answer okay the more the better you don't have to be like screaming but it has to be a passionate answer all right let's go to the next one last one you are exploring an ancient building when you stumble upon this painting that you find in very intriguing call your spouse and explain to him him or her this is all about spouse okay what you see and why you find it interesting all right there's nothing much in the painting this is the problem uh now the good thing is you only have to Define three to four points within a minute not more quality points instead of quantity points I explained this in my last video as well so here we literally have three things we have this old lady we'll describe her a little young lady describe her and their interaction interaction could be the third Point what's around the furniture is basically the fourth point and actually the ambience it's a black and white photo I think that's very important to mention but it's not really a point it could just be said in the intro like I see this picture of an ancient architecture or something like that okay so we'll we'll start with that and then focus on the few points remember also this is not question four where or three where you define the picture this is question eight where you're talking to someone in this case your spouse so you want to address her or him too and explain it uh as if you're talking to that to them you can also use words like hey you remember this uh painting that we saw in Alice's home it's just like that okay so uh let's do it timer hey honey how's it going I know this is very random but I got to call you and talk to you about this really ancient painting that I have seen in this Gallery it is black and white uh very kind of uh oddl looking and at the same time intriguing because it's simplistic yet it has depth there's a lady an old woman sitting on the right hand side on her sofa she is wearing glasses and I cannot tell if she is excited or serious but she's looking at her granddaughter perhaps towards her right the granddaughter looks like a very obedient child just standing in listening to her grandmother in the background we have all ancient furniture with items that I don't even have words to describe there's a box which I'm not sure if it's a food box or a makeup box however it's a very neat picture I was wondering if I can buy it what do you think yep 21st century ask your permiss ask your wife permissions to buy stuff so that's what I'm going to describe here I I did want to use some adverb but I couldn't get a chance to place it somewhere cuz there is no action happening there's no verb happening I try to make it sound like that like there she's talking but I couldn't really find a way to do that so that's one thing I regret I wish I could have done that but other than that remember just three to four points the picture description with it's it being ancient and black and white it's not really a point but you got to describe that I mean how would you not in this picture that is a key element so you start that off with the intro Point number one lady Point number two the daughter or granddaughter and the point point number three is just the background furniture and stuff okay uh usually these pictures have more detail so they do help but I'm glad I picked this question because it is hard to do doe the lack of the of detail but you can again come up with your own versions make up your own ideas like this is an obedient daughter it doesn't say it doesn't mean she's obedient maybe she'll she'll curse right after the scene but you can make it up okay and you can give your you want to give these Expressions okay you want to use adjectives give your opinion about she looks intriguing she looks naive she looks whatever okay so use that adjectives give you marks now have a look at these notes did you record yourself because that's what we always tell students to record yourself to make sure you have done a good job replay your recording and check these things not going to go in detail it's pretty straightforward you can screenshot it or just pause here and look at these notes you are marked on these things so have you followed this criteria have if you have you're good if not you will fail okay and if you are failing if you are struggling if you are in doubt send us your speaking recordings at info@ AET education.com for free feedback via email and uh if you like this video please subscribe like and share check out our salip 15 hour bestseller course best
