I was stationed in South Korea and wanted to get a tattoo done out there (I had a sleeve going). I found this artist that did a BEAUTIFUL day of the dead skull on my arm and idk how I found him but when I showed up to the appointment and had to be escorted to a room in a building that was super secretive. Blessed to have had that experience.
I'm about to be stationed there, do you remember where in South Korea the shop is at? id love to get a piece from there.
@@emilythornton969 I dont! I am sorry, but it was in Seoul so I took the bus 4 hours up to the shop lol. Have fun in South Korea, I dont know what it is like there now since I was there 5 years ago but I am sure you will have an amazing time :)
How many times are you guys gonna reupload the same thing 😑😑😑
That was painful to hear that guy tell her she was pretty with a nice body but ruined by tattoos. I think she is so beautiful and they make her even more so.
Some women need to hear this and stop thinking with emotions when your thinking about a big decision
@coffee I disagree. She made a decision based off what she wanted. Not based off how others would perceive her, especially men. Doesn't really matter what other people think of your decisions.
was really hoping for a new episode of this series :/
I feel like I'm traveling the world with the sweetest friend whenever I watch Gracie!
I really want a tattoo by Grace, she has inspired me so much
@here's my opinion • 75 years ago I think that completely misses the point OP is trying to make. It’s not the tattoo, it’s the experience of getting one by someone that inspires you. You get marked permanently by that person. Knowing what we know about Grace, and how meaningful an experience tattooing is for her, it means getting a tattoo from her is getting one from someone who will reciprocate that feeling. But if a tattoo is just a picture to you, I doubt she’ll be as enthusiastic.
The dad who gets the tattoo will always make me happy!
Do some actually new ones I watched this like 2 years ago
Ask the pandemic to go away, it’s kinda keeping artists from tattooing
same
RIGHT i was utterly confused for a solid moment. I was all exited about this being a return trip
@@cami5173 I got one last month and I’m getting one Tuesday it didn’t stop anyone it just hindered everyone
Man, where did she get that white jacket, that thing is amazing.
I couldn't imagine having a conversation like that with my parents. Being genuinely afraid of what your parents might think/or what society might view you as if you put art on your body. My mother is almost completely covered with tattoo's and I am not too far behind. I've been getting tattooed since I was 15. I guess I'm very fortunate that the culture I was raised by views tattoos as a great spiritual importance/ritual.
I’ve already seen this
I honestly wanna know how we can support artists in South Korea
good content but old ass content
The parents really tried which was nice.
I know! I was so impressed by their sensitivity, thoughtfulness, and support even though it must have been so difficult.
20:25 "All it took was being in the right place at the right time with the encouragement of his family." That's the exact reason I just got both of mine. Love this series so far. Thanks for sharing. Good for all of them. They're so brave.
Beauty in the beholder. As a person with tattoos. She’s the best to expose this culture! Much love :)
That is so crazy..a parent not speaking to their own child for 5 years because of a tattoo! I'm extremely grateful that my grandparents both had tattoos literally everywhere, and it was looked at as art, and being beautiful from my grandfather, yes he has a sketchy past, but he was also an artist. Neither of my parents have tattoos, my brother got a tattoo first at 17, when I was 9 and my mom got over the initial shock of okay now my kid has one, my sister has none, and the day I turned 18 I came home with 1, and have slowly added, and so has my brother. I think all tattoos are art, but big pieces done really well are so beautiful! Gracey is showing the beauty around the world, and she is amazing!!
I've been looking for the jacket Grace has since this was first released 😭 still no luck..
How have i been living? Without grace! Wow
Her jacket looks so cozy!
It’s like coming out of the closet with Tattoos in South Korea 😂
I LOVE VICE!!!!
This series is lovely.
Coming from a culture of such mythology and art and beauty you would think they wouldn't care as much about tattoos
In a lot of Asian cultures, traditionally the only tattoos are gang tattoos. And that's how it was for a long time. And that's how people still tend to look at it and associate it with something criminal
I love tattoos ❤️
Cool dad at the end was pretty awesome
Okay but where is that white puffer jacket from that Grace is wearing?! I need one
This is a beautiful video although I find it kind of odd that there's not Korean captions. Im not Korean myself but it seems like if there's English captions under the parts where they're speaking Korean, there should be the option for the video to be captioned in Korean. Especially if this video is aiming to further the "tattoo revolution" and changing ideals of Korean people
I’m trying to get this in a season format with as many spots in the world with a story like this
This one had me tearing up. Really good stuff
Jay Park with the Gary Payton jersey on the wall! I miss our basketball team, and having a boy of my own now makes me sad we can't go to games like I did with my dad!
Dad went all in with the neck tattoo
I have to track you down, I would like to ask where did you buy your white ouffy coat. I would like to buy one. I hope you can help me. thank you, Les
Is J from the US? Or is he just amazingly bi lingual with zero accent?
grace looks like a really sweet person :)
Also when I make it to that side of the pond that’s where I’m getting my drop bass tattoo everyone gets them from dj rainbow I want mine a little more unique
Regardless of my rambling check out the drop bass history you won’t find the tattoo stuff online and I can’t post pics here but it’s a serious think I deff got
Multiple ppl with and I am eventually getting the tarttoo getting this piercing then saving up for the trip and booking an appointment and finally getting this drop bass skull ASAP
Re upload from 7 years ago... If you liked the Apro part check out this more recent clip. czcams.com/video/Tex18qRSRK0/video.html
You guys here’s the link for the down comforter jacket!
Just kidding
Correction White puffy coat?
Seulji is so beautiful my gay panic cant cope
south koreans are awesome!!!
All the people I know with tattoos aren’t even gangster 😅 so for people to think that is crazy 😮
The intro seems too long
I need that big puffy white coat she has on!
Gracie you are beautiful with the face modification nothing will take your beauty away. Beauty comes from the inside.
sick as fuck
This is old. 😑
If I get the same variation on the drop bass black skull and cross bones from the same person I wanna be the first to get a grave neutral one so I know for a fact nobody has the same one maybe do dark purple instead of black while I’m at it
She definitely is not ruined. I find her very attractive because of the tattoos 😜
She is to an extent
You should check out the Midwest rave scene which in my opinion popularized daft punk there’s a dope techno dj snd tattoo artist who tattoos drop bass networks logo on all the drop bas family and I plan on getting mine soon after being in the underground music scene since 8th grade and I’m 22 dj rainbow is indisputably the best tattoo artist in town if not the midswest imo drop bass network has a history of underground raves going back to 1990 0r later and still does events deff worth a vice piece we have so many ppl in the local Madison Wisconsin drop bass fam with tats and scarification just in my friend group all sorts of piercings and absolutely deserves a proper mini documentary or whatever genre this is called just look up drop bass network (Kirk Eckes) I toy maker (Christian Devo Wayne) and happy league (Chris happy fix) you’ll find loads of information you have to look into this
Dbn has the skull and cross bones logo and is a world wide legend from booking daft punk to house like paul Johnson’s and also tommie sunshine dj hyperactive mark eegee a hardcore dj from theas well as many other major artists for these underground events where the old school drop bass ppl all have the tattoo logo the guy with the most has over 100 drop bass skuls
Deff worth an episode on tattoo culture in the Midwest rave scene
How sad.
People always ask me how long did you spend in prison. I laugh and say never i was in a metal band. Its looked down on in the south east states as well. Older bible clutchers are just like that.
Been to Korea 🇰🇷as well in 2000 no one had tats don't forget about going to Norway or Iceland for viking tats
Y’all are acting like there isn’t a pandemic going on, stopping people from creating new content
@Cami Hein Obviously we know we're in a pandemic, but I also thought this was a NEW video lol cmon.
@@miguelcastellanos2323 sorry, my comment was towards the people specifically bitching about there not being new content :)
This was uploaded way before the pandemic they had time to create new content
Why not move to a more ink friendly state? Practice the art without the bs
Not everyone is able to literally immigrate countries, finances, family and friends, language barrier, visas. If they already have been convinced of a crime for tattooing they won't be allowed to leave the country as a criminal.
@@odearflannery7781 damn. That crappy
people without tattoos are the new cool.
literally EVERYONE gets them now and 99% look like trash
Not gonna lie I came here to see if that nose hole went all the way through.
*through
Tattoos are so mainstream in the US that the actual rebels and weirdos are the young people with no tattoos.
nah not really. Just a generation of wimpy people. you'd be surprised how many people are afraid of needles.
That’s a stretch lmfao
People who don't have tattoos are considers weirdos maybe they have health issues or kidney issues where getting a tattoo is a death sentence for them
Tries to say Tattoos in Korea aren't all associated with Gang members and then interviews an actual gang member haha. Tried to just gloss over that portion.
The nerdy looking one ended up being huge asf like I wouldn’t double cross that man
Hello satan
