I always respected the way Sterling was totally unbiased in his commentating, even as a proud nswelshman, witnessing his team getting pumped year on year. Gould's good in that respect as well. Freddy and Joey cant keep their emotions in check, and it shows.

This was the series where in Game 3 Ennis cheap shotted Nate Myles then hid like a sook behind Gallen. That sealed the white wash for QLD.

I was there that night, first time I'd seen QLD win at that stadium, after about 5 attempts, the curse was broken. Ennis's performance was brilliant. It was Nate Myles he decided to punch.
Greg Inglis won a lot of games for Qld and doesn't get credit because he Aboriginal joke.😂😂

Don’t forget that the rules at that time was people playing in NSW comp vs people playing in the QLD comp. Nothing to do with their origin…. It was also never called State of Origin. So it is not a valid comparison.
@@ianward71 Sure...QLD changing the rules and running 8+ imports to win has nothing to do with origin either. So I'm ok with NSW sides having 1-3 imports. You still had more imports back then anyway.
NSW and QLD been playing rep footy since 1908, not 1980. History doesn't start with a tv contract. It don't start when it's convenient. And it doesn't care about your feelings. NSW owns all the records. All the good ones at least. They don't claim partial tv records because feelings. They claim real, total, overall, rep records. Do you need a tissue🤣

@@boganbob2708 Whenever NSW fans feel overawed they go down the pre origin route. So what happened to NSW then? They don't care anymore? They have the best team every year, the best on paper, what's wrong with them? They should win every year, shouldn't they? You can't talk about imports, NSW have had plenty. Look at the teams now, dominated by PAC islanders and PNG imports. Still NSW have way more quality players to choose from, they should win easily every year, every game.
