Soest - Westfalens ehrenreiche Hansastadt

Anfang der 1930iger Jahre lebte Dr. Victor Schamoni (1901-1942) in Soest, wo er als Leiter der Zentralstelle der Westfälischen Landeslichtspiele tätig war. Zu dieser Zeit entstand der Stummfilm "Soest - Westfalens ehrenreiche Hansastadt". Eine Kopie des Films ist erhalten geblieben. In diesem Beitrag der WDR Lokalzeit von 2001 spricht Peter Schamoni über den Film seines Vaters.

Thankyou so much.My Grandmother came to Soest from Mariupole in the Ukraine in 1942 by goods train organised by the Germans.She was put on a train to Poland and from there she was sent to Soest.On her arrival in Soest she was picked out by a German family and went live with them as a servant.She was very well cared for.My Grandfather was there with the Glosters army regiment.They fell in love and after Soest was liberated they married and she came to live in the UK.The rest is history.
