Thank you so much Brian. a week ago I faced an issue with tracking Golf Strokes and Result from a canvas app and publishing them to a power bi report. I used import when connecting to the Dataverse tables as such I had to manually refresh in order for the scores to be live. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thankyou so much for sharing this. I looked at multiple videos but could not find the details you provided for enabling refresh💐

Hi, great video...thanks for sharing the valuable information...
I am facing the 80 mb limitation with dataverse direct query, could you please suggest to over come the issue

Hi, I too had this issue. I have removed the additional columns created by dataverse and just used/direct query my 'custom' columns in the table and it worked for me. Not a great solution but worth a try. all the best.

    Hi, Great one Thank you.
However, power BI is not allowing me to unpivot the data that comes from DataVerse table. If I unpivot, it immediately notifies to move to Import Mode. But I want it in DirQuery mode. Do you have any ideas to solve this issue?

I'm having issues with power query retrieving a table in dataverse with over 100'000 records (read impossible). What are the limitations?
Is synapse link the recommended way to go if I have more than xxxxx (?) records?

Great video, thank you so much! I have implemented security role for a dataverse table and used power bi to build a report on that. when I publish the report in to workspace the security role (from dataverse) doesn't apply there. Any thoughts on how to make that happen (make the security role in dataverse in reflecting in power bi work space) other than implementing row level security in power bi report. Appreciate your comments, thank you so much!

    • @jegaveerpandian

@@rosiedjurovic Hi, when publishing the report, there will be a pop up window asking whether the RLS should be applied to the data from dataverse.

Superb video !! What is the cost of using Datavers and PowerApps?

    • @PragmaticWorks
      @PragmaticWorks  Před 3 lety +2

It's included when you license Power Apps but you can also license it separately. Each user you license includes either 50 or 250MB of space based on the license you purchase.

Great video! I have a problem though... Power bi desktop doesn't import the relatioship between tables from dataverse. Have you ever encountered this kind of problem?

That's strange. No I only encountered that in the early days of Dataverse connectors for Power BI.

Recently Microsoft started suggesting to put a man in the middle, between DataVerse and PowerBI, to overcome Dataverse connector limitations.
The man in the middle is Azure Synapse Link ... Can you telll us a little bit more about that?

Sure, you can purge that cached settings by going to File --> Options and Settings then Data Source Settings. Then purge whatever connection you want to kill. -Brian
