    I am clsoing in on one year with my bike as well. I am only one mile from work so my bike just hit 1200 miles. I am totally in love with it except for my but getting numb after about 45 minutes of riding. I have no issues cursing at 80MPH, I was burning a little oil but that seems to have stopped. I am in love with ridging it up and down the mountains around Idaho Falls because all I have to do is let off the throttle and 5% downgrades require no down shifting to hold 50-55MPH. I have decided that I like going down the steeper graids much better on my Super Meteor than I do with my manual transmission Toyota Tacoma or my wife's automatic transmission 4runner.

      Sounds idilic. And yes, agreed, the engine braking is superb. On most corners I never had to touch the brakes. From 80kg h to 50kph in seconds. Corners well. As for the but issue, that is a problem. I am trialing some seats in the next couple of videos 🙏

    PS Teacher T. I've ridden the Kawasaki 650 Volcan and the mono shock is far superior than my RE650. I've also ridden as a passenger on both bikes. For bum and back comfort my Super Meteor wins out ever time 😊.

    Also a testament to your riding skills 👍 watching this video riding in conditioning like this, as you say, is an insight as to how good the Mighty Meaty handled it, took it all in its stride. I love seeing bikes that get used. Second hand market in GB. is full off ten year old bikes with less than 10K miles. Tripmachine bags look great to, really suite the bike. Also after seeing this, I’ll never moan about the English weather again 🤭😂

    Love your video, seem like The Cocoa Tree Garden is a lovely place to go when I have a chance to visit Thailand. 😁
    It must be very challenging riding in such heavy rain. muddy with many pot holes. My SM do come with the touring seat, however replacing the rear suspension do change the comfort significantly and it does extend the endurance of the butt especially during long hours riding. 🤣

    Having bought the Celestial and then converting to the solo seat, i do have to say the touring couch is more comfortable on a long ride. I did still use an air hawk seat cushion though. Also, having riden with both seats before adding yss shocks, the difference in shocker quality/ride/handling and general comfort is astounding. I no longer get the sudden jolt/teeth rattling/jolt down my spine when hitting a bump at 80-110 kph.
    Also, i think one of the main factors of people having a difference of opinions on comfort comes down to body type. Im 6'2" and 130kg so im getting a different experience than someone who is 5'5" and 70kg.

      For what it's worth I have been riding a 2024 650 Super Meteor recently. It's seat configuration is the same as your SM and I found its much harder on the bum as rider and passenger. Plus even at slower speeds my bottom is often lifted off the seat more than mine with the touring seat riding UK crap roads. Hence my suggestion to you. The touring seat makes quite a difference indeed.
    I have the Astral black variant with the stock suspension. I've cranked the pre-load of the stock suspension up to 5. It made a lot of difference.
    However, when I rode a friend's bike (celestial blue) with the touring seat, and stock preload setting, it felt much better.
    I also noticed the touring seat to be much narrower than the stock seat. I'm not sure if this might have something to do with the performance of the suspension.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  Před 21 dnem

      The stock suspension is a baffler. But when I was on preload 1 and bumpy Thai roads, every major bump would nearly break my spine due to the units bottoming out. Raising the preload will stop this, but then makes the overall ride much harder. I gave up in the end. But I must try the touring seat 🙏

      Pero hay un detalle que he notado cuando viajo (100km/h a más) siento vibración en la manillar y me adormece la mano derecha.
