- The Morchang from Rajasthan, India is a fascinating and ancient mouth resonated musical instrument. This one in particular was brass sandcastle in the ancient method by Ghorka Ram, or Rajasthan India.

I feel like there's a mischievous raccoon somewhere in this world whose every step is followed up by the sound of this instrument.

Even today the banjaras people of Rajasthan, India and Assam use this for their folk music
The one from Assam is different. That's is made of bamboo and similar to other South east asian countries.( He have made a video on one )
we Romani play it in the USA still, that’s crazy
It's main instrument in carnatic music

@@tanih_bhat yes my singing teacher is from Delhi but she went to Rajasthan to learn their music. She performed Padharo mhare desh and another bhajan. They’re similar to gypsy jazz my dad plays , tempo wise and scale wise

Sometimes is going back to the basis exactly what you need to get further.. Nice playing!
I have been breaking down and starting new rhythms thanks to Mark Growden.
Back to the basics you mean?
The basis of the basics are at the base.
Sounds soooooo good and melodic 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. I love morchangs ❤️❤️😀😀.

The eye thing makes it 1000% better
Ancient Indians used to play Rayman a lot.
Use Raga Desh or Raga Madhyavati or Raga hamsamawati you will know the instruments real magic..
With those above tunes it hust highlights the instrument more beautifully

Why else...
The melody you're playing is a classic that only LEGENDS can recognize....Prince of Persia Mechanical clockwork tower theme when fighting the boss

This instrument would make a good ost for a realistic modern warfare rts game! Its sounds so nice!!
Man! This man is a master in playing morchang.
That's quite unique.
The resonance on that thing is crazy. Great sound.
Very cool I've always wanted that one

The movements in the eyes are subordinate with the music
I enjoy his expressions when playing. He is having fun. I bet he could even have an awesome time playing with a spoon and a paperclip. 🎉
I love this !!
That's talent right there!
It's amazing how similar in construction all these different country's Jaw harps are and yet they have quite distinct sounds.
That is so cool!
Can’t help but notice the eye movement
Proud to be half indian
Ohhh buddy, that is a sweet sound! Im ordering one right now
I remember when i am kid me & my friends playing with this instrument ❤❤❤

i have heard use of tbis sound in old bollywood music and movies. 70-90s Indian singera were always experimenting with sounds from classical ans ancient musical instruments.

Rayman Origins
I thought I was the only guy that was reminded of Rayman by this!
Finally I found this comment
This is amazing
Sounds like the inspiration of Daft Punk’s Human After All album
in this one, and the so called pakistani 'chang' too, you can hear some hints of the sitar and tanpura! because all 3 three are rooted in the same principal and place... but i must say this, the one you've managed to find is absolutely beautiful! i hadn't seem such a variant yet😊
If you say ancient it couldn't pe pakistani. You know what i mean.
Chang born way before Pakistan dude 😂😂

YOU MADE IT ON DAILY DOSE OF INTERNET!!
Amazing 😍
Interesting the connection between ancient east and western folk music. Supposedly the land ridge was still there recently and alot of migration and shared cultures from east to "far east" America.
Interesting…sounds a lot like a mouth harp. Wonder if mouth harps were based off this?
Best
Wow it feel like a bgm
How wonderful.
I am indian ❤
From Rajasthan ❤
This musical instrument was used in a sequence from a movie called goopi gayen bagha bayen. This movie was made by the legendary maestro satyajit ray! And during a ghost dance sequence, this musical instrument was used to weave an intricate melodious and visual treat! We bengalis can identify this tune almost instantly!😊
He is playing music with his eyes and eyebrows
dang those eyes dude.
Bruh this what I heard while playing Rayman
epic
That eyes again.... Love it😅
Cool❤❤❤
I would drive my family crazy if I had one of those
In Uzbekistan, mostly Gandmas used to play some sounds with it. Still they do in mountainous parts of country. Check it out!

The only bad thing about the jaw harp is I do not have one
cool
👏👏👏
I've seen a musical group called Otyken that uses a similar instrument. They are indigenous Russians, however they are not Slavic, they are Turkic. Our Eskimoos came across the Bering Strait, they stayed in Siberia. They also use throat singing that I associate more with Mongolian or Nepalese music
Where I'm from we call this Berimbau de Boca :D
@filipepaixao9398 awesome. I am familiar with the Brazilian Berimbau de boca maker Eduard Roveri from Brazil. He recently passed away. He made fine mouth harps. He will be missed
@@bebbcorpharpery7331 I remember seeing his videos in the past. I didn't know he had passed until low. Rest In Peace Roveri...
This sounds awfully similar to Daft Punk vocals and samples...
How modern music came to be
I thought at the start it was saying "hey daddy"
Imagine this was made to speak to the first arrival of aliens then some dude what’s slapping bars with it and crating music at the same time 👀
Pretty much a similar sounding instrument was used by Enio Moricone in Clint Eastwood movies the Good, the bad and the ugly. For a few dollars more,
For some odd reason I keep thinking of Courage the Cowardly Dog.
the real sound is operated from his eyes..😎
Morchang is operating the eyes and controlling their movements. The rapid eye movement causes eyebrow and eyelash vibration and that causes the sound. One must be very careful not to overheat the eyes as this can cause the eyebrows to get red hot. This heat can cause the overheating and end up warping the invisible hat that I usually wear. If this happens I won’t be able to replace my invisible hat. The invisible hat came as part of a compensation settlement from the clown insurance company. A clown had at one point exploded in the Harpery and ended up staining the background. That invisible hat was part of that insurance settlement. It has been lost so many times as invisible hats are easy to lose track of.
