We've just pushed out a manager who was trying to uphold the club's culture. Strangely enough, he was the one person who understood what Chelsea is and ironically help aid Roman's vision, of having a brimming academy, being realised. The club has now embraced Reece James as the undisputed club captain (rightfully or wrongfully), we've put him front and centre of the team yet it was Poch's decision in the first place; now it seems as if it was always destined to be. Fans and pundits alike were pining for Silva or someone more experienced to be captain yet Poch understood the long term vision. He was trying to develop a homegrown/English-oriented captaincy and hierarchy within the squad with James, Chilwell, Gallagher, Colwill and Chalobah being the lynchpins. For years we were mocked for solely having continental players now we're sacking a manager for wanting to establish a fundamentally English core. He's given debuts to Alfie Gilchrist, Michael Golding, Alex Matos, Josh Acheampong and Leo Castledine, in his first season, more than any other previous manager, under arguably the most tumultuous conditions. What makes this all the more disappointing is that previous years under Roman we felt as if every sacking was ultimately in order to course-correct, in this case it seems as if we're just steering ourselves into uncharted waters with many fighting for the wheel. Poch knew the league and now knew his team, whoever we get would need another adjustment period. Plus even then, what guarantees would have that he won't be sacked for a above-average season? The entire team wanted the manager to stay. Even under the great Tuchel, Conte and Mourinho we had players fall out with them, not with Poch. This is the odd occasion in our history where the team had more faith in the manager than the board. If anything the player's opinion should matter most as they are the ones who work with him daily. Players can never truly buy into a manager's tactics now because their opinion is not valued by the higher-ups. Eventually the players will develop their own "player power mentality" since the managers will be an ever revolving door whilst they're the constants. Poch developed into a father figure for this young crop, helping them develop their games. That's what Fergie did all too well. He may not have been the "winning-mentality" manager we needed long term but he was the right coach for right now. The next manager will be likely be stoic and cold because he'll be fighting for his job from day-one, no patience for these young lads, he'll get frustrated and leave, then the cycle continues again. Just gutted.

Pochettino’s style evolved a decade (and a half) ago during the rise of gegenpressing, an intensive, high-octane running and often chaotic brand of football originating in Germany and spearheaded by Jürgen Klopp. In the meantime, even Klopp (reportedly under the influence of his assistant Lijnders) migrated towards Guardiola’s positional, controlled style, adapting to the ever-changing football meta which nowadays consists of exclusively positional approaches inspired by Pep (and the forefather Bielsa), with all the young and revered up and coming coaches being direct or indirect disciples of Guardiola.

I'm seeing a HUGE switch up in these comments.
Firstly, everyone saying boehly destroying our club and sacking poch. Boehly is the face of the club, he barely has controller of this club and owns the lowest percentage out of the consortium so he has quite little influence in decisions of this club. throughout the entirety or the "consortium era" fans have blamed boehly for running the team to the ground not once mentioning other owners for their fault.
However while im not angry poch is gone considering context of this season, him leaving now of all times makes absolutely Zero sense. Throughout the entire season there were times poch gave Valid reasons for the guy to be sacked yet hes only sacked when hes probably put us in our best form since probably early tuchel days.
HOWEVER, instead of basing our entire emotions on the last 10 games of the season lets add context shall we. Pochetino lost to a bunch of children in a cup final, pochetino has continusly set us up for failure the entire season playing CB at left back, LB at LW, playing sterling when he was out of forn whem players like madueke were kn bench, cuccurella not playing for chiwell when he was out of form an lastly and probably the most criminal, playing Gallagher in the 10.
Throughout the entire season we saw Gallagher in the 10 never works and damages midfield. Idc what anyone says, if enzo hadn't gotten that injury poch would have never played Gallagher in the pivot ever again. It was only then did our form finally skyrocket. You wonder why we only picked up form near the tail end of the season? Its because poch exhausted all his options and had tl succumb tl finally playing the right players in their correct positions.
Before you try to fight me, i want you to think about what im saying. I don't agree with sacking pochetino NOW but I'm not angry sacking a manager who has never ever touched silverware. I'm also not going to judge any of the managers younes mentioned because i have never seen them at Chelsea and there is a possibility the could do well.
Before we start rioting i think we need to evaluate the situation calmly and wait to see what happens before we cry.

McKenna being touted strongly as next cab off the rank but word is the owners want an attacking, possession based manager with a sound defensive system.
The issue is in the Championship, McKenna's Ipswich were 10th best in passing stats and 8th best in possession stats!!
They scored freely but also conceded 57 which was only 6th best in League whilst finishing 2nd - so defensive issues may continue especially with a chelsea squad conceding too many this season.
Club World Cup lucrative tournament next season needs an experienced HEAD COACH that can be relied upon to make a deep run in the competition = Jose or TT.
Final point, the players will they work their but off in matches if they have been provided with an ineperienced young manager without trophies in their CV?

Great video Younes, per usual. Looking at the briefs and reports that have came out after this video it looks like McKenna is the front runner. Possibly, Thomas Frank too - which wouldn't surprise me considering we hired the Brentford set-piece head coach in the middle of the season. A report was posted that Chelsea don't want to deal with a 'combustible character' - Tuchel, De Zerbi, etc. Whoever takes over is walking into a trap and if they don't get top four, probably get sacked end of next season. At this rate, the club will become uncoachable.

180 degree tailspin. Dinner with the boss. Walk down the tunnel. No mention in the last game program. Pochettino sends his coaching staff home but lingers in London. Separate meeting with technical directors ond consortium owners. Consortium owner hugging and in discussion with Gallagher after the final game.
Whispers from Rio Ferdinand that Pochettino may be out.
Ultimately was Pochettino happy about the difficult and unpredictable path forward. The players likely to be sold. Acceptance that he coaches and selects from the relvolving door of 24 to 26 players available at the club. Very little spine, marginal PL experience, players on loan, working with grafts, offshoots. Move your best players for profit - Gallagher, Chalobah, Chukwuemeka, Colwill, Maatsen, Gusto Palmer. Thrive on chaos. Developing a never ending stream of potentially talnted youth.
I think Pochettino was comfortable and happy to start with a solid foundation team. Gradually add certified youth players over a period of time 1 - 3 years. Seasoning those young undeveloped players. Making them battle hardened. Remaining competitive at the top of the league. Playing in CL.
The stunt about not celebrating 6th. Clearing the air about "happy", "suitable game day selections", "liked by the players", turning things around in the last 6 games, together upsetted the Chelsea apple cart. He became a rebel, disrupting the "new order". Hence the door.

Younes, brother, you've been begging for this all season. And as I've repeatedly said, be careful what you wish for. The youthful CFC supporters got their wish. We shall see.

Younes, brother you called Poch to be sacked at least 5 times this season. You either back and support a manager, even through tough times, or you simply don't care about him. There is no in-between.

We all said that because things were horrible. Then we saw the change and the poch started to show that what we knew he could do. Season ended well. 10 wins in last 16 games won last 5 games. So we were now ready to stand with him since he was ready to stand up

I agree with you on this. The fans are part of the problem. Poch simply had a hard time connecting with the fans. He gave the club a big time PR job during his spell. It was always coming down to this moment.
