  • The Afon Tryweryn is a dam released river. When there is a water release from the reservoir, we nearly always have enough water for you to paddle on. Releases from Llyn Celyn Reservoir are controlled by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
The Afon Tryweryn is split in to 2 sections, the Upper River and the Lower River. The Upper River is roughly 2km of grade 3-4 rapids and runs alongside the centre.

I can say that must be really tough course for a beginner. I did Lee Valley Legacy assessment and kept capsizing. After doing easy whitewater river trip I came back to redo assessment and went through with "flying colours", the key was to edge and brace properly. But this one looks serious! credit to you!
