  • Not too surprisingly a big enough media source said the Bronco can tow almost Double what it actually can. Well ‪@Johnnyscarcarereviews‬ we are here to help so lets cover what the Bronco can really tow and why. We want to cover the real deal on towing even with the 2.7l V6 turbo oneight think the tow numbers are near or higher than that of the 4 cylinder Ranger but that is not the case so hit play and don't miss out on the other Bronco misconceptions, or don't be fooled, section that we will cover. Also at the end we ask for your help in picking the channels next long term review.

    Man, Ford still has to fix those wavy windows though... I know the soft top is high quality, but the wavy windows convey a really cheap fit and finish.

      Mario I agree. The soft top is generally great but the windows do detract from the impression of that. We love our soft top even in the winter and rain storms but those windows do make it look like me...famously cheap (well for none car stuff)

    While I applaud your intent, there is some misinformation in your video. You are 100% correct about the trailer should be level. However, hitch drop is not universal. Trailer heights vary. Hitch drop should be matched to trailer height. Automatically changing hitch drop to clear the tire may create the opposite issue where the tongue is too low. Additionally, you say that the 7 pin is required for trailer brake control. That is only true with electric brakes. Most trailers in the weight range that the Bronco is rated for, that have brakes, have "surge brakes" that require no power at all. Again, good intent, but be careful with misinformation.

      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  Před 2 lety

      Thank you Gene. When i mentioned that the trailer should be level with the hitch I thought it was clear that this is for safety. You are right in some cases the tire might still be in the way but the Sasquatch Bronco is so high and with a 3500lbs weight limit I think it will be a very rare occurrence. Thank you for the intel about surge brakes.

    First I’d like to point out your ball on your 2” receiver is loose. I added a 7 pin with a brake controller on our 22 Sasquatch and the brakes work great. I’m not pulling my tire off either lol so what I have done is open the rear gate hook the trailer then shut it as long as it will clear the trailer.

    Great video!! What can you tell me about the gas mileage of a bronco - towing vs not towing. I got a RAV4 Prime, and I tow an A-Liner classic. Thought I was going to get great gas mileage.. Wrong!! I'm debating between an older wranger.. but I just saw a Bronco and I love it. I'm assuming the Bronco would be the better tow vehicle vs the wranger because of it's more tighter suspension, steering and rise? Oh.. I also have a 1994 Mustang GT Convertible. It's the 5 liter. I'm doing some content about it on my other channel !! Looking forward to watching some of your 1994 mustang gt content. that could be helpful for me. Ihave lots of little issues with it..

      I also had several small issues. The mini ecu near the radiator is to be changed as it caused my engine to overheat because it was not turning on the fan. Bronco at 65mph can get 22mpg. 19 mpg at 80mph. I've got shorts coming g out soon on that. Pulling my 1500lbs trailer and 4 wheeler had me barely notice a drop. About 2mpg. Often forgot I had anything behind me. It tows extremely well but not more than 3500lbs

      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  Před 2 lety

      More reasons why I do not understand why there was talk of removing the back tire. Invented problems to try and tank the Bro co name? As for the lowered hitch it's important to have a close to level trailer tongue for proper weight distribution.

    Johny, while there is truth that the suspension is not sufficient for towing 6k pounds, you are wrong about the brakes.
    Tell me, in what way are the brakes in the Bronco less capable than the Ranger? I'll wait. Misinformation? DHS needs to get their ministry of information involved!
    I just use a hitch extension, works great. It all depends on the trailer height. BTW, I am willing to bet that you could tow more with the 4 door than the 2 door, but they have the same rating. Additionally, a load distribution hitch would also increase the capability of the Bronco in regards to towing.

    • @Johnnyscarcarereviews
      @Johnnyscarcarereviews  Před 2 lety +1

      Great points especially about the 4 door vs 2 door. Ranger and Bronco on the exact same brakes? The 2.3l uses vacuum assisted brakes. I'm not the biggest fan as that can cause issues and if I recall in my MR2 back in the day after stomping on the gas pedal and having high boost, higher than Original spec, and then hitting the brakes....well what brakes. As for the 2.7l Bronco unlike the 2.3l Ranger and Bronco it's electronic assist. I feel this is a much better system but even at that I feel like 5400lbs plus my 1500lb trailer is just the right amount of brakes for the weight. Misinformation on my part? Not exactly. Data would be better than just my feelings of how the brakes would be missing some stopping power at 11400lbs total but data is missing and I'm not willing to risk it to find out. I dont have a closed test track nor a huge budget. I often make videos and make $60. Simply put I expect more from a major news source as their budget is much higher, and especially expect a fact that can cost someone's life or long awaited vehicle to be destroyed to get it right. We are talking about towing here not about getting 5 hp wrong. Fhe towing informstion is easy to find whereas who knows the exact reason why the Bronco only tows 3500lbs as it has not been officially confirmed. Could it be rollover risk? Who knows but suspension tuned to offroad makes absolute sense and from personal driving my feelings are that 11400lbs total on the brakes is just way too much. Then again when towing over 3000lbs its ordeal to have brakes on the trailer and use that 7 pin connector . As always thank you for keeping me on my toes, adding helpful information and facts. Please keep in mind I need added help from viewers like you as we are not a major news entertainment network witha huge budget. I can literally start cutting grass like I did in my teens and I will make more money.

      @mpeugeot Před 2 lety

      @@Johnnyscarcarereviews The point is that the Ranger and Bronco have the EXACT SAME brake configuration and that there is nothing about the brakes that make the Ranger more capable than the Bronco.
      BTW, my F-150 has vacuum assisted brakes, which are rated up to 11,000 lbs for braking, should I stop using my F-150 for towing? Which is supplied vacuum by an electronic vacuum pump (just like the 2.3 Ranger and Bronco). You do realize that, don't you?
      I did the research so you don't have to. ;) I am more likely to be disappointed my major media than you, Johny.
      That said, I am also more likely to hold you to a higher standard than I will them, as I expect major media to lie to me at this point.

      @@Johnnyscarcarereviews modern vacuum setups are set up on electronic pumps. had them on my 3.5l Ecoboost and I did tow it's max weight with it many time in the mountains and they are leaps better than the old vacuum setups. no issues. I could see the suspension and tire size lowing the tow capacity a little bit. just look at the f150 and the f150 raptor tow specs. but I agree with op that the 4 door probably tows a little better. and I bet a bronco with a smaller factory tire is where Ford is getting that max tow capacity. Ford and most automakers only show their highest number not the true number for each trim with options which you can usually find on the door

      @@mpeugeot thank you. I still do prefer the electronic assist set up of the 2.7l. Car and driver did not cause me to worry about the vacuum assist system of the 2.3l because I've had a few bad experiences with that system outside of the Bronco model before. Thank you for the help and for the great point about the brakes.
