Okay, I've said this before but I'll say this again cause this battle is legendary. Even 2 years later I still watch these a lot... As a hit song, MGK took the win, easy. HOWEVER, as a diss track Em is miles ahead of MGK dude. He literally started his career as a battle rapper, and he's got so much depth to his songs. It might sound weak if you don't understand the lyrics, but this whole track, from the Swayze reference to the title to the release date to the disses to everything dude.. I don't know what's true and what's a coincidence, but with Em I'm confident he knew exactly what he was doing. He could murder anyone with insane references and you wouldn't even know it hit you. Em was never even a maybe in my book, he took the win on this one for sure. I will say though, I'm a huge fan of MGK, and I think they both came out of this with their heads held high dude. Massive respect to MGK after this. He's is the only rapper to ever come close to touching Em, and his career for sure isn't suffering from it. Okay, I've said this before but I'll say this again cause this battle is legendary. Even 2 years later I still watch these a lot... As a hit song, MGK took the win, easy. HOWEVER, as a diss track Em is miles ahead of MGK dude. He literally started his career as a battle rapper, and he's got so much depth to his songs. It might sound weak if you don't understand the lyrics, but this whole track, from the Swayze reference to the title to the release date to the disses to everything dude.. I don't know what's true and what's a coincidence, but with Em I'm confident he knew exactly what he was doing. He could murder anyone with insane references and you wouldn't even know it hit you. Em was never even a maybe in my book, he took the win on this one for sure.
I will say though, I'm a huge fan of MGK, and I think they both came out of this with their heads held high dude. Massive respect to MGK after this.
