Rip Doctor Who Experience.
It's the end, but the moment has been prepared for.
LegoBrick 69 it's opening somewhere else in wales :D
This song is ending, but the story never ends.
Michael McGrath You do know that there still is a 13th Doctor and an 11th season coming up, right?
That reference was beautiful

What is it really closed?? I need to go..did it reopen?
@@leif1075 nope. Its shut down
@@m.sharif_3d WHAT NO But I read online about a doctorwhoninteractive..isnt that the same thing just at a new location??
@@fatboyslim2732 didn't it reopen elsewhere though?
@@leif1075 not that I'm aware of.
Crazy knowing that this guy's a murderer now
I have a story about this place, a bit of a depressing one, but I'm bored and I want our Dark Lord Saxon to see
I was in Cardiff in the summer of 2017, I was on my way to climbing Snowden, which was incredibly fun, and I did it with a friend, we ended up stopping here, just because we saw a sign that said BBC studios, and because we're nerds we stopped,
We had a long walk round, seeing the sites... And eventually realising this was where the doctor who experience was,
We had parked quite far away, so we walked back and after 20 minutes we found a space right outside. We had a real rush of excitement, this was something we really wanted to do, so we looked around a lower section with a police box in it before making our way inside,
We then waited 30 minutes waiting to get to the front desk, when we did, we discovered you had to pre-book tickets (or at least it was too full that day so only pre-booked people could get in) so we left, annoyed,
Now at this point you may say we could go on our way back, however because of one of the campsites we were going to it was out of the question,
But then we were filled with hope
This year me and my friend were going to climb another mountain, which we could pass through Cardiff on our way back, we practically jumped for joy knowing we'd get to go to somewhere which is just a love letter to fans, and of both the classic and modern era (even though in my opinion I wouldn't like the series 8 and 9 bits as much as other people because I believe Capaldi only got good when Clara and all reminders of Matt Smith were out of the picture)
Then we went online a few days later (the next time we had wifi) to book tickets and were upset to discover the experience was closing,
And I felt sadness for missing it, and that if we had done some more research we would've been able to book tickets 😭
However, after seeing this video, which I skipped by accident, missing it in my subscription feed, I feel less upset about the experience we missed, because I still got to see it through this video, yes I would've rather been there in person, been in the classic and the 2005 tardis,
But this was still better than nothing, and I have to thank you DLS (dark lord Saxon) for sharing this experience with everyone, and I think this is the first video of CZcams that I've seen,
That is worth the time watching it, and that you get more out of it, than the creator
So I thank you
Hope you read this some day 😀
Why would they close such a historical museum? It should always be open to the public. Also, are you telling me that there wasn't a section dedicated to the Sarah Jane Adventures? If not, that was just rude on the museum's part to not have included that spin-off series since they have a section on Torchwood.
Tory politicians thought they could make more money from a different company so refused to extend the lease then had to demolish the building when no one was interested.
@@hasrock36 fuck them

Who would've thought that this guy would end up being a cold blooded killer...
i can see it. manchild toy reviewer that fell off 5-6 years ago off his prime attention
I kinda miss good old 2005 and 2010 tardises, well they are there but, not whole interior which is a shame....
MOLDA I miss Matt Smith
IV been here... it's closes now but it was 'ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC'
Same it was amazing!!!
Could you do one on your prison cell next?
He would call it the prison experience
Wait he’s in prison?
Wow I just checked. I didn’t know
😂😂😂
I remember when this was open YEARS ago when me and my family took a detour whilst visiting grandparents. There was a march of Cybermen and my brother went to the lift to see them first. When the door opened one of the actors pretended to shoot at him and he burst into tears. We still make fun of him because of that today haha 😂
Thank you so much for doing this. As a passionate fan of the show who lives in America, I was nearly heartbroken that I'd never get to see this museum in person. Your video truly took me there, and I felt like I was the one standing in those beautiful sets and seeing the iconic costumes. Thank you for taking me aboard.
Utterly FANTASTIC! I've been there five times but didn't know a lot about the area of Cardiff Bay aside of it being in Torchwood and Doctor Who, really enjoyed the video mate. All the best! James :-)
6:20 I see what you did there

Rot in hell. If you're found guilty of the murder of Natalie and her unborn baby I hope you never see the light of day again. Rest in Peace Natalie and baby Dean.
I recall driving through Llangollen (en route to Conwy for a long weekend) back in 1998 and suddenly seeing a Dalek road sign!
Straight on to Betws y Coed and next left to ....a Dalek?
Several impromptu expletives, an ill conceived handbrake turn and one terrified girlfriend in the passenger seat later, I was occupying one of the (relatively few) parking spaces waiting for the doors to open and frankly, my holiday was over the moment we left that fantastic place. 'Balls to a romantic weekend in Conwy, I've discovered In-Vision magazine and I'm not to be disturbed love, it's the Season 18 overview edition it's important, go and have a look around the shops why don't you?'
I was saddened to hear of it's closure.
Last year (2016) I was treated to a surprise weekend in Cardiff by my exceptionally understanding partner who had unbeknownst to me, booked us both in for a day at the Doctor Who Experience which was simply on another level!
Sincerely, that architectural eccentricity (at least for me), contained wonderful undiluted escapism and though saddened that the curtain has (I'm sure only temporarily) fallen, watching this video has served to remind me just how much I loved that day.
Thank you :)
That was ‘fantastic.’ Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I went today for my 5th and sadly final time. Thank you so much for uploading this, at least watching this will be a fantastic reminder of something truly amazing!
I've heard rumors that they are moving to a bigger location I hope this is true I would really love to go in the future
I went about a mouth ago loved it hope it moves somewhere else and not closed forever
It's confirmed that there will be a new bigger one somewhere unannounced in wales
KB Productions Gaming where was it confirmed?
KB Productions Gaming Yeah, that’s Bullshit.
The doctor doesn't like endings lol
The aggravation if being an American Who fan, I'll never see this in real life, actual up close. That's a real shame
Riain Biehle Aussie fan here, I feel the pain.
Aghast Font lol. Well at least you're not an entire ocean away from a treasure trove of Who goodness lol
Riain Biehle Pacific and the Atlantic apart. ;^;
Yeah I was thinking one day I would trick someone into thinking it wasnt a nerdy trip just to see this lol
I’m a Filipino fan...
England is on the other side of the world kinda for me
I miss this so much, it was such a special place for fans of the show and I sorely hope it "regenerates" at some point in the future, even if it's somewhere else in the UK.
I went to Cardiff two weeks ago and I literally didn't realise that these places were used in Doctor Who. I haven't watched Doctor Who since 2015 and I've never seen of heard of Torchwood but it's cool that they were in the show!
my visit here is when I truly became a fan! We vacationed in Cardiff. I had started watching the show before we went, but when we got off the train and saw an ad for the Experience we visited and I truly became a fan!
I managed to go to Cardiff and do the doctor experience a couple of years ago and what made it even better for me was that not only was I staying in the hotel that David Tennant and Christopher Ecclestone both stayed in whilst filming, But I managed to stay in the same room that Christopher Ecclestone stayed in. I was also lucky enough to go on a tour round Cardiff showing many of the attractions and places that Doctor Who was filmed it was a great experience.
I remember that years ago I won a Doctor Who Adventures competition. I designed a spaceship, they used in the magazine's s comic and they made a model and put it on display in the reception area of the Doctor Who Experience. They also payed for me, my friends and my parents to come down and visit the experience. It was great. Sad that I won't be able to visit again.
I travelled to the Experience from London in 2015. It was definitely worth it. Very sad to see it close.
I remember going here when I was 8, a few weeks after it opened (As I live in Cardiff) and it was probably the best day ever
I went three times over the last five years, first was in 2012, just before the start of Series 7 and twice this year, March and yesterday. The interactive section was great fun, seeing all of the props and costumes up close was brilliant. I have to say, the staff were excellent, showing real dedication to the series and actually engaging with the fans, three examples spring to mind for me. Firstly, the energy and enthusiasm of the Museum Curator in the interactive section was great, secondly, when I purchased my green screen photo (Capaldi TARDIS background), I was actually asked where I got my Twelfth Doctor coat from. Thirdly, was when I tried to take a photo at the wooden wall from 'Knock Knock', where you could place your head into it, a member of staff saw I that wanted to have a photo and took it for me. We briefly chatted afterwards, which was lovely. Very sad to see it go, especially from Cardiff, really hope it'll be relocated somewhere. To quote The Twelfth Doctor in 'The Return of Doctor Mysterio'.
"Things end. That's all. Everything ends, and it's always sad. But everything begins again too, and that's always happy. Be happy."
To the person who decided to rip this beautiful thing down and replace it with a football station... go to hell :'( - never got a chance to go when I was younger, and now I never will
This video makes me sad because I'm never going to go and see it 😫
As a massive Doctor Who fan I am privileged and am so happy to live in Wales and so close to Cardiff and so happy I got to go to the experience so many times
i live in cardiff
As someone who lives in Australia and has never been to the experience, thank you for producing this wonderful video! It's fascinating being able to experience (sorry) it through someone else's eyes.
If a Dalek was roaming about the experience asking if anyone wanted tea like in that one Matt Smith episode that would’ve made it better.
Did he just say that Lego is weaker than dalekanium cuz Lego is the hardest material every created if you use the flat pieces only
How did I not see my name at the end of this! THANK YOU SO MUCH for the shout out Stephen!
This was my 10th birthday present, as well as my dad's 45th, one of my favourite trips as I was obsessed with who at the time, and my dad got to see some of the classic costumes

Another great video Stephen!
Thank you from all those (including myself) who sadly didn't get the opportunity to go and experience it for ourselves!!!
This was amazing...great job and thanks as I will never get a chance to see it
So glad you have shared this experience. That is a place I had wanted to see, but knew I would never have the opportunity to do so. Thank you.
I went in August and it was one of the best days of my life, I travelled 4hours to Cardiff and then stayed at a hotel overnight , went to the experience and traveled 4hours back home. Worth it!
I went to the Doctor Who Experience twice (once in it's early days and again in Cardiff) and I hope it survives in some form as I truly believe that it had a magical feeling throughout that brought a smile to fans of any age. On my second trip, me and my family met this elderly man from LA who, during the interactive segment, got to pick up and crystal and started playing around with the Dalek as if he was The Doctor and, if that is what it does to an elderly man, imagine the effect the experience had on children.
I went around some time in July and they had literally just added in the series 10 section a few days prior. I think the last episode had just aired not long before. Living in America and visiting my family in England, I knew I had to go see this place. One of the coolest places I've ever been. Got to experience it with my wife and kid who are now both enjoying watching the show. It was cool to see my little girl flying the TARDIS at the console, may have been a little envious of her lol. Got a few things from the gift shop. It was just amazing getting to see props and costumes from my favorite show. Wish I could go back and do it all again some day. Hopefully it re-opens in the future in a bigger place with even more sets/props/costumes and stuff in general. Had such a great time and honestly one of the best days of my life.
I honestly feel privileged to have been able to have been to the doctor who experience and see all the wonders of Doctor who
I wanted to work there !! 😭😭
THIS is not only for nerds! Whovians can also come from another place, haha, thanx for the very nice documentation, my favour : the 11th
I am so glad I got to visit this when it was still open. As a Doctor Who fan it was my wish to once visit the experience and I'm so glad I got to do it. Also thanks to my brother who kept moaning to my parents that he wanted to go to Wales on holiday.
I definetly wish I had the experience of going here
I didn't get to go.... 😢😭
Me neither
Same😭😭😭
Great tribute Stephen, I went there for my birthday this year and I had a blast. It's sad seeing it go
Great video, brought back some happy memories. I loved visiting the the Exhibition and went several times over the years it was open. No visit to Cardiff was complete without it. The landscape looks so wrong now the structure has been removed. I don't know if it has been mentioned further back in the comments but Ianto's shrine actually covers the entrance to the tourist office/Torchwood entrance from the show.
I was there over the last weekend in August. It's the end of an era. Rip Doctor Who Experience 💙💙💙💙
I was so lucky i got to walk upon all the sets in the main experiance and go into the actual 12th doctors tardis in the studios but i really wanted to touch the buttons but you were not allowed. I miss it soooo much.
Wow. This really brought back memories of my May visit to Cardiff & the DW Experience. I had to force myself not to blow up my credit cards & make another trip across the pond for another visit before it closed. Thank you.
I heard there re opening the doctor who experience in a much bigger building
jamison melchi I hope so
well, it's been over a year and a half and I've heard nothing
They better be or else... 😭🔫
So glad to have gone to both the London and Cardiff incarnations. Loved them both
I got the chance to visit this place and it was amazing!!!
Great Video Stephen this is bringing back memories of when I went to the Doctor Who Exhibition in Langollen, Wales with my mum, dad and their 2 friends who drove me there back in 1999. (or was it 2000? but I was 9 or 10 depending on the date or year)
How things have changed, I still have the Exhibition book guide (sticky taped because of wear and tear) also it was the place where they made the Dapol figures that part always stuck in my mind seeing all the unpainted Daleks and headless Daleks preparing to be painted.
The Bronze Dalek which kids can go inside of reminded me of the silver Dalek was was also chopped in half to get the full Dalek Experience.
I was a Doctor Who fan before it became "cool" if it wasn't for the peter Cushing movies I wouldn't have known about this wonderful series.
I was lucky to see the actual Tardis set in the actual studio when I went to the experience with a combo ticket. It's crazy to think that the studios they film in is literally the next warehouse past the experience.
why the comment? he's arrested lol
@@bigmattpark Not everyone clicks on this video knowing who made it or who this guy is.
One word a quote from a friend of the doctors “ spoilers” . I absolutely loved the dr who experience me and my dad are massive whovians and in the summer of 2017 my dad took me to see it and we both loved it I’d also love to point out how beautiful Cardiff is it’s amazing and no wonder dr who keep using it to film x
Thx for making me more jealous of this experience closing, now I have to go cry because I didn’t get to go there
I went last year, but unfortunately wasn't allowed in because I was 15...and on my own...it's such a shame to see it go...you will be missed DWE
Ah, I remember going to this quite a bit ago now. Sadly I never got to see it all as I was about 5 so the Daleks at the start scared me and I had to be skipped to the end. I also remember a huge life size Dalek in the lobby that was made out of 1x1 lego bricks. I vividly remember the end presentation they did though where they had some of the creatures on screen as a sort of "send off" if you will and I remember the Weeping Angels and Cybermen segments in particular. I really regret missing it as I never knew it would go away and It was some memories I never got to have.
Edit: Oh hey! You showed the lego Dalek in the video! I went there as the eleventh was still about so I never got to see the remodel either and I guess they moved the lego Dalek further in the building..
I wish they re-open this place some day.
I am so glad I got to go before it closed down. My kids loved it and they really loved getting to land the TARDIS it was a brilliant day out .We walked round to the bay and saw iantos shrine and the TORCH WOOD "lift" at the water tower. It's sad that we can't go again.
If you’re still interested in seeing something similar, there’s still somewhere to go! The Bromyard Doctor Who museum isn’t as impressive as the experience but it still has loads of memorabilia from the show. I think it’s the only one in England but check it out! It’s awesome :)
OMG!!! THAT ROCKED!! I only wish I could go and see the all the Doctor Who stuff. But no money no fun.
Loved this. And that memorable song of bille at the end
Is that recreated First Doctor Tardis the one used in Twice Upon a Time
Yes
The center rotor in the middle is the original piece from 1963, fun fact.
Why have I watched this video over 5 times I can't stop it looks so cool
When I was younger, possibly around 8 or 9, I forget, but I got to go onto Mat Smiths first Tardis set when I went to the doctor who experience, was pretty cool.
When I was younger it used to scare the SHIT outa me. But now I’ve been I WAS AMAZED
Damn, I envy everyone who got the chance to go here😭
My home town was home to a Doctor Who museum, Llangollen in North Wales. Wish I had been alive to see it
Did it a few years back and it was Epic...
Thanks so much for posting this on youtube
Oh my my my god😭 * crying on the corner*
If you excuse me, I need to cry forever
Oh hey, Capaldi put his handprint on my birthday. Nice.
I went to the experience a couple of weeks back and I was lucky to see the series 10 section (Converted from the series 9 section) and it looked wonderful. There was even a bit where you can put your head through a hole, and it looks like you're being eaten by the Dryads from Knock Knock.
Another change is that Ianto's Shrine now has an official sign instead of the laminated one
Oh no that lever reset the inter-dimensional stabilisation module, it's no wonder you were told off the entire console could have dematerialised along with anything in a radius of fifty metres.
I remember going in 2013ish it obviously didn’t have as much but it was amazing! Such a shame it’s closed now. But this is a great way to see it if anyone hasn’t
I'm Glad that me and my wife visited DWE this summer!
I went to this place four times, at very points throughout the Smith and Capaldi eras, shame it's no longer around.
Also, Cardiff City Council have considered removing Ianto's Shrine a bunch of times, but always get complaints when they do. Although I must admit it needs doing up a bit. If you're ever in Cardiff, take some Ianto stuff with you! Return the shrine to it's former glory!
I'm really sad that it's gone now I went there 3 years ago
All that place needed was a gift shop for the doctor to occupy himself
I love to see the museum
Wow great video! This is now on my bucket list to go there 🤣
I wish I had the opportunity to go before it's closure.
WHERE WAS THE 11TH DOCTORS TARDIS!!!
well mat smiths one was there the Thursday that was after capuldi was confirmed as the doctor
depressing knowing I missed my opportunity to see it
Right we need to come up with the money to send Steven around the world, because I'm loving these travel videos. New York was epic, Cardiff was superb... so where next Steven?...
Theorigonaldoc That's what Patreon is for! I'd love to go to the Back to the Future filming locations. I do have one filmed but not edited yet from a while ago, but telling you where I went would be a spoiler...
Well if you're not even going to tell me where you went, then I'm going to tell you where I went. Cardiff. Tardis Set tour ;-) just before filming for the Xmas ep started, sadly will never be anymore because a friend of a friend at the BBC tells me they've dismantled Capaldi's set now, he was trying to nick a piece (failed) :')
Back to the future would be epic, but hell I'd pay to see you just go do a travel documentary of the Pyramids, you've just got a natural gift for this kinda thing :')
Thanks for sharing your experience here in New Jersey!
Such a shame it's closed, I never got to go in the end. hopefully one day they bring it all back.
I had an hour drive until I finally arrived there... you need to get your tickets online aarrrrggghhh !!! RIP
I actually live in Cardiff! Born and bred! You could've called and I'd given you a full tour of Cardiff, doctor who style!
and they demolished the building last month :( now it's just an empty plot of land
I went there, it was really fun
Man I wish I could go there someday
I went when I was nine and the weeping angels area of the experience scarred me.
