Blue bells do smell. I have a forest close by that is blue with the bluebells in spring and you can smell them as you enter the woods. Very gentle, slightly sweet smell.

Diana used 'Bluebell' before she got married. On her wedding day she used 'Quelques Fleurs Original'.(Houbigant) Later in life she used the seductive 'Mitsouko' (Guerlain). For a long time her favourite perfume was "Diorissimo' (Dior) and 'Fleurissimo" (Creed) of which the latter was created especially for Empress Grace of Monaco at her wedding. She loved it and it was off market for many years, not becoming available until after her passing. In her last year Diana settled for "24 Faubourg" (Hermes) She absolutely LOVED that one. The vintage one smells devine. There's an air of 'very expensive' to it and it hardly gets more feel of exquisite than this one.

Women who admitted and are said that Bluebell used to be their favourite perfume for years: Tilda Swinton (she admitted wearing only that fragrance for over two decades), Kate Moss, Prince Diana and Margaret Thatcher;) You haven’t mentioned anything about the finish of that smell - there’s something about it that is reminiscent of rotting, slimy leaves and pettals, like a faded bouquet that was kept a little bit too long in a vase - and there’s something about the smell of such water. At least for me. So eventhough I trully loved the beggining of that smell, I couldn’t stand the base notes and how it finished on my skin.

I just picked this up on my holiday in London. There’s something in the beginning of this fragrance that reminds me of peanut shells. I know that sounds strange but I love it! That little weird burst fades quickly and leaves a spicy, watery, floral scent. Gorgeous and complex! I ♥️ it!
I didn’t find out until I had selected it to purchase that it was a favorite of Princess Diana. I think I found the perfect souvenir from my trip. 😁

its sort of like a fresh, dewy scent it transported me to a early February morning, frosty and wet, the scent of wet grass and bluebells and winter flowers, their scent being activated from the early morning dew. the spice sort of reminds me as like nettles . its so dewy and frosty and rain-like, the British countryside in the 70s

Hyacinth is such a difficult note for me. I can't make it work for me. It's the front player in Serge Lutens Bas de Soie and it's very present in Hermès 24 Faubourg, and I struggle with both fragrances. That keeps me away from trying this one, that and the fact that Penhaligons is not available in my country 😅. As always, a very good review.

Yes it's more carnation which does not smell good. I'm going to keep trying it. No way did Princess Diana wear this more than one time so they can say she wore it.
