    About Jackson:
    Jackson began back in the late 1970s, when heavy music experienced a flamboyant and virtuosic resurgence in popularity and a small Southern California guitar repair shop became the epicenter of a new level of shred-approved excellence. Ever since then, Jackson guitars have been universally lauded as the metal guitars; the shred machines-highly original high-performance instruments of distinctive style and formidable substance. From metal’s chart-topping peaks to its darkest recesses, for discerning guitarists all over the globe, Jackson is the only way to go.

      Toby K. I agree. He's totally an underrated and underrecognized guitar virtuoso. Berkeley graduated and super talented. And everything he said as far as tonewoods were concernend made sense and was scientificly accurate. Great player indeed.

    I wish my family chipped in for a Jackson SL2H for my university graduation. If anyone of them is reading this - even if that happened 5 years ago it's still not too late. I'd like transparent black with with the flames being gray instead of brown. If you'd like to compensate for the 5 year waiting and get me a custom shop then I'd like oil finished neck and coil splitting for both pickups with push-pulls, hard-tail bridge and also volume knob might be in place of the pickup toggle switch. Thank you very much in advance, I appreciate.

      It's a 7 string of a model they don't make in 7. Specialized stain, specific neck, etc. People spend $5000 on a new Les Paul. Jackson Custom Shop is the #1 custom shop in the world and the #1 Guitar builder there builds these himself. They are limited and won't be produced again until Davidson gets a Pro Series I beleive.

    • @Erowens98
      @Erowens98 Před 7 lety

      PSMTCHEF you have never seen a true custom luthier have you... I can think of several whose guitars blow Jackson's out of the water, as well as have more customization seeing as they design their guitars from the bottom up for the customer, absolutely everything of their instruments can be made custom to the customers spec, I've even seen guitars built with s custom alloy of stainless steel for the frets. Yes Jacksons are great, but no, they are not #1 at anything but mass production, they have a good custom shop, but again. Not #1

    • @inbredm3ssiah899
      @inbredm3ssiah899 Před 6 lety +1

      Linus... If you can hear tonal differences from different woods on an electric guitar, then you guitar is broken and your pickups are not sealed off properly. it's engineering dude.
      Just because a bunch of people believe the wood makes a difference, doesn't mean that's the case. So who is TRULY the flat earther here...

    • @xXEmbracetheMetalXx
      @xXEmbracetheMetalXx Před 6 lety +1

      The DENSITY of the wood on guitars does make a difference in the overall tone of your playing.
      That's where a lot of the misunderstanding comes from. Yes, the hardware, pickups, strings, etc. make up the majority of the tone, but wood makes more of a difference than a lot of people believe.

    • @ANTHONYFERNANDO
      @ANTHONYFERNANDO Před 6 lety +3

      It's funny because the only people using this "it's engineering" point are people with no experience in engineering or basic physics principles. I've talked to all of my engineer friends and they basically laughed at how obvious it was that wood can affect sound. People like WillsEasyGuitar (I respect him but still), misusing equations and not understanding what they're for, when the primary laws of physics alone explain it well enough to understand, is not engineering. If you wanna say you don't think wood has a big enough effect for you personally to tell the difference that's fine, but there's still a noticeable difference for many people, one that is an absolute certainty of physics. No-ones telling you to buy guitars based on wood, but don't treat others like idiots when you don't actually know the process.
      Easiest, most idiot-proof way to explain it is this, you feel the vibration in the body, so you KNOW there is energy transfer into the body, and that energy is energy that is LOST from the vibration of the strings (tone-wood isn't an additive thing, this is where people are wrong, it's a SUBTRACTIVE element in the frequency spectrum), whatever size vibrations travel easiest through the material, be it wood, polymer etc., are the ones that are going to be reduced in the sonic spectrum. ALSO, the energy that isn't absorbed efficiently will be reflected back upon the strings, and those frequencies will be more prominent. Don't believe me? Compare punching a concrete wall to punching a pillow. Two extremes, but they illuminate the principle. The pillow can absorb more of the energy so it won't hurt, but the dense hard concrete won't absorb any energy, and all of it will be reflected back upon your hand and up your arm. The concrete wall is an extreme example of guitar principles. Where the strings meet the nut and slope downward, there is a massive amount of downward energy which transfers into the neck, whatever frequency waves have difficulty being absorbed will continue to ring out in the strings, but if the neck material is the density that easily allows wavelengths in the 3k-5k range for example, those frequencies won't refract back onto the strings and the strings will be less midrange heavy.
      I 100% respect people being skeptical, but these are principles you have to learn before you can even start delving into heavy physics and engineering.

    Jackson really overprices their USA made standard guitars. They are priced higher than a full custom Kiesel.
    Also, wood doesn't make a big difference with Electric guitars. Your pickups make up about 80 - 90% of your guitars sound where the other 10 - 20% is dependent on the bridge, nut, strings, frets and neck construction.

    TO DAVE DAVIDSON:
    it seems like you listen to what a lot of people have ASSUMED,fretboard material has zero relevance on tone PERIOD.
    the strings do not touch the fretboard,they touch the frets,you can have a guitar with floating frets and it will sound
    the same as this guitar,so much misinformation gets passed along as fact when it is in fact "BULLSHIT"
    we all love pretty wood but it doesn't matter what species it is,the rigidity and tight tolerances of a greatly
    built guitar matter,wood does not.
    Tonally wood makes no difference either,if you put these pickups,electronics,bridge into a warrior with an alder body
    you would be surprised at how THEY SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME.sorry friend but dont pass on bullshit as fact
