When using that gel stove, consider turning the cup 90 degrees. You'll get more heat on food and the wings will not get fire hot

I have used a similar bag for my medical equipment here in UK, it seems to be based on the Vietnam era Medical Set Instrument and Supply carried by combat medics. The one i have is modern material, waterproof, and EMT Kelly Green, but i have others in more subdued colours.

Nice Haversack, it is the Case, Medical Instrument and Supply No. 3 (newer, Nylon) or the M3 Medical Supply bag (cotton duck/canvas Vietnam Era). They go for between $20-$50 for the surplus ones online.

That pack looks similar to a GI surplus medical bag I got from the Sportsman's Guide like twenty years ago. I stuffed it with all kinds of medical first aid equipment. Never thought to use it as a day pack.
Thanks for the review, and helping me to consider thinking "outside the box"!

I’m not a fan of haversacks but I do enjoy watching videos on different sacks and load outs.
I like the design of that sack and your load out.

I don't get the haversack thing either. In the mountains or really thick bush they are a hindrance.

Kind of reminds me of a large toiletry bag.

I recently subscribed to your channel and have been going back through the archives. I came across a video you did about 9 months ago titled Canteen Survival Kit. I noticed you were wearing what appears to be a British DPM Field Jacket. I have been looking for one of those for a while. I seem to only be able to find them in small and medium. Could you point me in the direction to find them in “Squatch” sizes?😂 TIA. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for subscribing! The DPM jackets are hard to find in larger sizes. I look on eBay occasionally. May have to pay for shipping from the UK.

Was thinking of converting a couple of Polish army bags of about the same size into a pannier/haversack arrangement for foraging/plant spotting. Being able to cover extra distance on the bike while foraging and having a cook kit around would be useful. It would be a crying (and expensive) shame to use Hidden Woodsman bags as panniers but I've heard his products are getting over to the UK now, ill be keeping an eye out.

Nice gear. Everything works cause it's simple. Video and audio quality is great. This is a video to watch in February when I'm missing green trees and the sound of cicadas.

It’s cool but not for a $170. I’ve used my G.I. Issue one since 1980 and it was made in the 70s. The only thing I did to it was to add two compass / first aid pouches on the top flap.

@@BigSawCat It’s patterned off MA20 Medical bag US surplus. He’s just paying homage to it with the design.
