11:13 DJI released an update and fixed the iPhone 15 charging glitch I mentioned!
Download the new FW here: www.dji.com/mic-2/downloads
I received the set with 2 mics today. Wooow! it's fantastic! Thank you DJI, well done!👌
Thanks for the great review! Awesome to have all these tips & tricks. Can't wait for mine to arrive today!
Nice features set. The bluetooth connection directly to the phone and the internal recording set this one a part. Not familiar with another system that connects directly to the phone like that. Others you have to use the cable and receiver.
There are a few, but none that connect to the phone and record internally at the same time. The InstaMic Pro Plus can record 32-bit internally or stream the audio to bluetooth. Just not at the same time.
@@EmeraldAudiovisual After reading the manual, it looks like this one can't record and bluetooth at the same time. SMH.
@@kustoo I've just been through this with the Mic 2 and the Action 4. If I start recording on the Mic 2 and then connect the Action 4 afterwards, the internal recording stops on the Mic 2. This is not what I was hoping for. But if you connect the two devices and then press record on the Mic 2, it will record internally until you disconnect and re-connect the OA4 (i.e. switch the camera off and then on).. then the Mic 2 will stop again on that next reconnection.
Unfortunately this is currently not a win for the DJI, as the quality over Bluetooth is trash compared to when the receiver is plugged into the phone. Hopefully they fix this in a software update though!
@@justinreels That's more an expectations issue:
- the quality over Bluetooth will NEVER match the 2.4 GHz transmission to the receiver. It can't. That's a limitation of bluetooth.
- is the bluetooth audio better than bluetooth headsets: hell yes !
Please understand the limits of the bluetooth feature: it gives you the ability to send scratch audio to your camera, then sync the recording from the Mic in post.
It is never going to give you high end audio.
As always, i’ll watch first your review before anyone else’s 😊 your reviews are my standard 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
As always, another great video. I personally prefer the look of DJI Mic 1 but the Pearl White version looks delicious. If they release that as part of a combo pack then I won't be able to resist.
Definitely one of the best reviewers! I always know I'm going to get great information from iPhonedo
Ohyeaah thanks for the video faruk !
Wow what a microphone package. Great video and review. Thank you
Your explanations are clear and easy to understand. Thank you~
They look great and a big improvement compared with the previous model. happy to see your work recognised by brands. More will come hopefully
Well done!! Enjoyed this very much!!🎉
I love it. I am definitely going to buy this one. I already have the original one. I love the idea of being able to charge the phone at the same time and also listen back to the video and also really like that it actually makes you confirm that it’s plugged in it happened to me here just a few weeks ago I recorded an entire video and thought I had everything plugged in correctly and when I got home, I realized I had no audio I either forgot to turn on one of the microphones or the receiver wasn’t plugged in all the way to the iPhone which was really disappointing
Your review has way too much depth. Which in turn makes me feel like I actually own the product. Nobody else does the same. Great respect 🙏
Thanks for making this video. Upgrading now :)
Great video, thanks!
Very happy with my existing DJI kit, thank you.
Any word on a transmitter auto gain setting? Sometimes I just can't dial in the gain correctly during a session on my mic 1. That would be a good addition. Also, can you pair a mic 1 transmitter to a mic 2 receiver or vice versa?
Excellent as usual!!!
Excellent presentation as usual. Realy enjoy your videos
Another great video! My favorite Tuber.
Awesome Product 🔥🔥🔥
Man iPhonedo is so dang good with these reviews. Love it as always man.
Thank you so much for your reviews. I always look forward to it. do you know if the transmitter can mute the mic still for this new MIC2 version?
Nice one!
GR8 video! Time for a head to head battle with Rode Wireless Pro now!
These logo branding feels overly intrusive. With 11 logos (both sides on the TX, one on the RX, one on the box, and on both sides of both magnets), it's excessive. An iconic design can enhance branding more effectively than plastering logos everywhere. Take Apple's approach for instance: products like the AirPods/HomePod lack conspicuous logos, yet their design alone makes them instantly recognizable as Apple products. This subtlety elevates the brand's value. Although DJI has been emulating Apple's design and marketing strategies for some time, they seem to have missed this crucial lesson in understated branding.
Very nice. I want to get this too for interviews.
When you dropped the second 'windscreen', you should have added the sound of a distressed tribble. That would have been brilliant.
Great review
Good afternoon! I love the quality of your videos, is there a Sony a6400 version of these settings? Thanks!!
Just upgraden with your link! Thanks!
For iPhone, will there be a phone upgrade to allow using the native Camera app instead of a third-party? Or, is that the limitation of how Apple iOS works?
Huge upgrades.
Thanks for video, Mine is out for Delivery :)
Wow the sound quality is great, I think that is what most video creators struggle with so this is probably a good choice for anyone.
At least that is my current weakness ^^
I see iPhonedo review, I hit like button.
Good video, thank you for that!
One question, please:
Let's say I buy the cheaper kit (here, the combo kit is more than 600 USD), with only one transmitter and the receiver (also without the charging case). Can I buy later on, if I'll need it, another transmitter and pair it with the existing receiver, so it can work as yours?
Thanks!
I did wish they had added timecode and I like the locking connector of the Røde Wireless Pro. But otherwise, DJI did hit the nail on the head with this.
I still have 2 of the original Osmo Actions. I know MIC 2 won't bluetooth to the Action 1 but will that usb c adapter work with Action 1?
Can the receiver be plugged to a desktop/laptop via a cable? Or does the receiver have to be connected directly via the little usb-c connector? I’m afraid of the usb-c connector breaking over time when attached directly rather than by a cable like the hollyland.
I’d like to be able to connect the receiver to my computer via usb-c cable if possible for Zoom calls.
Already bought black/white combo, the first one is so good, and this one just adds all the missing features.
What's the audio quality like connected to Pocket 3 via Bluetooth? I've heard BT is not as good on the iPhone?
Ha! You must of got an early release.... This popped up on my MIMO app today while using the Pocket 3. I think today is the 1st day officially for sale. Anyway, I ordered it straight away! Woo Hoo, I think I beat the rush!
I've been using a single Mic2 on my Pocket 3. I was waiting single mics to go on sale, but when I saw this, I said WTF, this is just too cool, why not go all the way.
Couple of things: While it CAN be a bluetooth Mic, it's RF to the Camera (otherwise you would get the distance, plus RF is more reliable). I think it communicates to the camera on BT, but only for pairing and settings. not 100% sure. I think it's the same for transmitter receiver here. The other KILLER feature I haven't heard many people mention is the Link Button acts as a remote control start/stop for the camera (click to start and stop the camera rolling).
I've had the Mic2 and a USB mic connect an I get both channels. One thing I can't wait to try out is dual wireless to the Pocket 3 AND the USB receiver or just a mono-USB mic. I think you can get 3 channels... not sure the firmware can handle 3 channels.
Wish you would test it with A7S3 to see if it has the same 'buzz' noise as my RODE. i.e. is Rx 100% compatible with SONY?
Get a couple of the transmitters +the lavs, along with a neatly rigged iPhone 15 pro, (or one of dji’s little streadycams) and boom you got a tiny filming setup for great results you could carry in a coat pocket. What a time to be alive for aspiring on the go film makers.
Can you connect both mics via bluetooth or just one at a time?
Does anybody know if this model finally lets you mute each channel individually? My main frustration with the last one.
If I get the Mic 2 and an Action 4 is the Action 4 going to record and bake 32-bit audio directly into the video or it is a separate audio file? Pls don't judge me I'm not very well informed with audio
DIdn't hear a difference in the lav vs transmitter. Everything looks pretty code though. Might wait for the while/pearl receiver too. :)
Can you pair more than one mic by Bluetooth to the iPhone?
Is this the exact same mic as the one that comes with the Pocket 3? Ai noise cancelling, 8gb internal memory, vibrating feature, 250m range, etc
Already saw Potato Jet's video... just clicked on this video to like it for the title.
You can only connect one mic at a time to the phone or both?
Is audio drift issue fixed? I know other people have experienced this issue with the first iteration.
What I'm always worried about is the input lag when connecting to the phone by bluetooth. For example if I were to record short form videos with it. I get quite annoyed by even some that has wireless receivers connected to the phone have input lag.
does it works with MIMO app? for example, when using movil in OSMO 4.
Hello, when I connect Dji mic 2 through Bluetooth with phone, does the audio from video is the audio from the internal mic phone or the dji mic 2?
Does it have any delay, I mean, does the mouths of the people in the video are delayed from the audio?
Hi do transmitter can record internal
hi there
i very empress about your camera and lense would you please let me know what kind of camera and lense do you have?
Can it be used on the Dji drones?
Mine easily connected to a Windows laptop and I was able to use it with OBS.
will it connect to a canon r5 via bluetooth?
Can you directly connect BOTH mic2 to the pocket3?
I’m waiting to hear that answer
yes
Does anyone have an idea what the shelf life of the internal batteries would be. Im seeing online about 3 years.
Im thinking the new Holyland Lark M2 is a better value and for me better designed product, its just simpler to use from what ive seen, plus the transmitter is tiny and should be less noticeable
Is that the auto focus on the DJI Mini 3???
dD they have a line input??🙏
Price is £309 in the UK for 2TX + 1RX + Charging case.
That's aggressive for such a great piece of kit.
Cheaper than the Rode kit but then again you get two lav mics valued at $99 each in the Rode kit.
Do you find ANYTHING dji makes, on the cheaper side? =P It is expected to be pricey. And the rode gear has been so buggy for so many years, it's considered trash.
By aggressive, I mean, it's compettive with the Rode equivalent.
I think both the Rode kit and this one are good value for money.
I ordered the 1 x tx adn 1x RX DJI.
I like the on the spot noise cancellation and also the compatibility with mobile phones so I can use my Sony cam or my Pixel. @@krimke881
Faruk abi Samsung Galaxsy S24 Ultrayı alıp inceleyebilir misin? Gerçekten yorumunu çooook merak ediyorum❤
Does it work with the Insta360 ace pro
A test outside in the real world would have been nice.
where did they drop it?
Please make a video of using the DJI Mic 2 with the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, adding audio to drone video. Thank you.
I got a DJI Mic 2 with my DJI Pocket 3. Does anyone know if i buy another single mic if i can pair my Mic 2 that came with my Pocket to the receiver that would come with a single new DJI Mic 2, so basically make it similar to if I bought a 2 mic kit?
We shoot our Beer 🍺 Vlogs in bars with music playing. Have you tested noise reduction in that kind of environment? Can it suppress the songs ? Or does it also destroy the speaking voice on your worn mic ? Any chance you have tested (or can test) and report noise reduction in that kind of environment? Also, does DJI have plans to allow the internal 32bit float recording to work when used as a Bluetooth mic. I know it wasn’t working in Bluetooth mode. But do they have plans to fix that ? Thanks , as always, for fantastic video.
- Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed 🛏️ & Beer🍺 Vloggers ]
As someone that makes videos mostly with his phone, I want this so bad!
I ordered one at 7:28 into the video.
No more mute on the transmitter? That’s essential for me.
Hollyland Lark Max Duo nun aynısını yapmış gördüğüm kadarıyla tek artısı Hollyland Lark Max Duo da 24 bit DJI da ise 32 ses kaydı olması
Just hope this one dosn’t drift in the audio like the first one, and i hoped that timecode was implimented in a way
I sent my original ones back used to drop signal about 10ft away if someone was wearing it on there backs, absolute joke.
I really wanted to buy these but not locking audio jack is a massive fail, think I will have to go with the Rode units, event though I think the design of these are superior.
I didn’t understand how you secure cold shoe mount. Just slide in and leave it that way? Without tightening? 🤔
I guess it just has enough tension to where it rides there in the cold shoe
@@scottstevensonfilms maybe for a dslr on a tripod. Maybe for a controlled evironment like a studio but what about vlogging outdoors?
Would be nice if the transmitter was smaller.
As someone who has the Mic2 as part of the Osmo Pocket creator kit, I kinda hoped DJI would release the receiver on its own or on its own with the charge case so I can use the mic with other cameras. Unfortunately, you can only buy the Receiver with an extra mic, then need to get the charge case separately. Hopefully they change that.
why does it sound so boxy and kind of clpped? I have seen other videos and it sounds like that and even more clipped than this one
Can the receive be connected to an insta360 x3 and remain invisible?
I haven't seen any info on it yet, but with the permanently attached cold shoe, I doubt it. Kind of a bummer possibly.
The first one was a massive disappointment. It worked great for a few months, and then I started getting static. I tried absolutely everything to resolve the static, but it never would go away. The only way I can get it to work is if I use the little adapter to plug it into an iPhone and use that to record
Did you try to replace the 3.5mm cable ? The cables that came with the first one were a bit meh.
all good and well, things to test for your actual review
- audio drift when doing long recordings +30min
-- to the camera directly
-- via bluetooth to the devices
-- when you sync external recording to the camera and to the audio recorded in bluetooth
- how good the transmitting is when you're at a place with a lot of wireless transmitting devices
I find it to be a little disappointing. I noticed a lot of comparisons with Rode wireless pro. The pro definitely has much higher audio quality in my opinion
Clip on the case, nice.
Carry Pouch that holds everything, very nice.
Direct BT connection - meh - depends on if BT latency copenation is done well.
Logos that stand out like a dogs balls - on the mic and both sides of the magnets - WTF - they are supposed to be discrete!
32 bit float is literally the only reason to consider these over any of the options (semi clones) for 1/3 of the price.
Sheesh just slap on a strip of electrical tape ffs 🤦🏻
Have they got rid of the crappy cold-shoe mount for the receiver?
15:57 "and I wish when I hit record.... " I think you miss edit... it just skip to the long it take to charge :(
I can’t believe it doesn’t work with the iPhone camera app! They’d better update that or it’s a no-go for me.
Black Magic is free.
@@Reviews4fun1 not the same as the native app. I have it and use it sometimes, but not the same.
"And I wish when I hit record........." Yes?
Yeni djı mıc aldım 25 gün önce üzülmeli miyim?Şükür ki pocet 3 üm var dkkfkf
Have you noticed the quality is SIGNIFICANTLY worse when connected via Bluetooth vs. the receiver? Mine is a HUGE difference! The quality is trash (e.g., super tinny) when connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone 14 Pro Max, regardless of range/settings.
It’s an evolution not a revolution. Not worth an upgrade if you have the old one.
32 bit is great but not as useful as most think for a mic like that and it’s use-cases it’s intended for.
Also the magnet is smart though I would prefer if it were a bit more discrete with no logos.
Also as others pointed out a mat surface would be better too.
This is only a game changer if you're a fan of DJI as far as the first Mics go... Other than that not really a game changer now if they had a 32-bit float lavalier Mike or a lavalier with a extremely high SPL to go with this , game changer
They missed the biggest opportunity: Eliminate the cable that the RX needs to connect to sony cams and make it connect directly via the hot shoe.
The issue with that is, that the hotshoe systems are different for Panasonic, Canon and Sony. None of them compatible with eachother. So which camera would you support ?
@@EmeraldAudiovisual Obviously Sony Full Frames A7 / FX Series like the one they show in the advertisement and the ones 90% of all CZcams Creators you see using this mics are using to shoot their videos.
Expensive, its 100 euros more than mic 1 and the competitors are mostly a lot cheaper.
Connects to an iPhone but not OA3 🤔🥴
