The moment you realize that Khamsin isn't a guy in a mech and is, in fact, the mech itself is the moment he goes from dumb jobber to sick badass jobber.
This dlc was more stealth oriented than what the friends were showing it as. They kept saying the dlc was so hard because they turned sections into combat, while they're intended to be stealth sections.
Anyone else notice how the Jetstream DLC and Bladewolf DLC each center around one of the two main gameplay types? Jetstream is all about action, to the point that there are multiple bosses in one level, and you can't stealth kill enemies. Meanwhile, Bladewolf has a lot to do with stealth, making your health super low to encourage sneaking, and even making the BOSS FIGHT partially based on stealth.
All Snake needs is a power-suit like Sam's, or maybe a sneaking suit variation, and he'd be all set to wreck ass. I'm pretty sure that now that Bladewolf has the freedom to choose, he'd rather not use the chainsaw since he dislikes excessive violence anyway. He still has the knives and his claws, at least.
So glad they noticed the stealth aspect of that last fight... I was getting worried. Also, they reacted the same way I did for all parts of this game. Makes me wish I played it with a group of friends too, so many crazy scenes that would have been fun to laugh at
I love that you can stealth every single encounter in this DLC, even the one at the start. In fact, stealth is THE way to pay as Bladewolf. Platinum Games know what's up.
17:20 Why doesn't a VR Mission Maker mode exist, for this, any other MG game or even as a standalone digital download game? Imagine remaking the entirety Shadow Moses, Big Shell or even Groznyj Grad in MGR. and remaking parts of those missions to do in VR, kinda like how Raiden did Shadow Moses in VR prior to Big Shell. (I know Phantom Pain will have a mission maker, but you'll still be restricted to the set locations in the game).
Metal Gear All Stars sounds awesome. I really want to see Volgin vs Armstrong for some reason. Book end the series I guess? Whatever, it's hype anyway.
Pat's dog standing above half-alive bird/ Mini-Pat comes and looks at his dad. "It's time, son." Pat pools out a boombox and turns it on. "Rules of nature" plays as Pat's dad swings his shovel violently.
I have no idea why, but as soon as the end credits played, my brain started imagining Bladewolf through the filter of an 80's action cartoon intros, complete with unnecessary chrome and grid-lines.
You see what you've done, Platinum? You've made a game so fucking cool, this poor guy can't even string together a proper sentence! You glorious monsters.
Pat's childhood wasn't entirely bad. His father and dog were tag teamin' ALL the animals in the neighborhood. PlagueOfGrapes, please we need you to make this an anime more than EVER!!!
this LP is literaly the best on youtube of the most insane action game ive ever seen with amazing ending! matt pat liam and woolie are the best four commentators who can keep their audiance entertained even in the most boring of situations!
Awwww... it's over now! Unfortunalty, all good things have to come to an end. Well MGR LP, it has been a lot of fun. Watching was great. Listening to the commentary great. With the experience came a lot of good riffs and a lot of good cheers, so I patiently await the next Metal Gear LP. For this one, I thank you Matt, Pat, and Woolie!
This play through was a good one. But all things have to end. No matter what, we will remember the hype and barf parties this game created. Matt, Pat, you guys are the best.
snake can handle pretty much anything but the actual bosses, and even then he could probably handle mistral. if he can take down a rex on foot he can take down everything up to grads, especially considering he fought the BB squad which were bordering on this level of tech. normal cyborg dudes is just a matter of stealth and an armor piercing or other special made bullet to the back of the head. plus he could just get a suit like Sams which his mgs4 suit was basically a prototype of (he was so 'old' that the muscle suit had to pick up the slack)
All I gotta say is that Blade Wolf's DLC needs a part 2, just so I can play as the awesome new version of him and to find out what the heck he was doing during his recon faze.
I never made the connection that the RE4 dog and Hewie from Haunting Ground were actually the same dog, but now that you mention it, that makes complete sense.
02:44 First thing I thought: Pat's father is Shovel Knight. Imagine little Pat Jr. next to this dude wearing a helmet with horns, holding a shovel, and with lava coming from the lower edge of his helmet, telling him how sick is to stomp over flying rats.
I know there probably won't be more DLC, but I so wish there was. If only just to see them play through it. The hype is just too funny. I'd love to play Monsoon.
Woolie: "well, you don't have the Byakugan" Pat: "wait, is that the card game or-" Woolie: "HUEHUEUHEUEUEHUEHEUUEUHEUEUEUEHEUEUEUHEUEHEUEUHDUUEUEHEUEUEHEUEUEUEHEUEHEUEUEHEUEEHEUHEUEHEHUEHUEHUEHIEHEUEHEUEHUEHUE"
The moment you realize that Khamsin isn't a guy in a mech and is, in fact, the mech itself is the moment he goes from dumb jobber to sick badass jobber.
Well, it's not that he IS the mech, but the mech is his cyborg enhancements.
This dlc was more stealth oriented than what the friends were showing it as. They kept saying the dlc was so hard because they turned sections into combat, while they're intended to be stealth sections.
God, I love how much they love this game. Their fanboy glee is contagious.
*chainsaw credits come on screen* "OHMYGOD AAAIIGHAAAAA!"
AND IT ENDS RIGHT THERE IT'S SO GREAT
Pats dad uses a high frequency shovel
and Pat's old dog used a HF Paw
It can cut through solid birds
High frequency shovel
Luis Sanchez So a jackhammer?
Peter I Jackhammer breaks things more than just digging
Concerto Daze well it sure fucking broke the bird
That’s not a shovel that’s a axe
Anyone else notice how the Jetstream DLC and Bladewolf DLC each center around one of the two main gameplay types?
Jetstream is all about action, to the point that there are multiple bosses in one level, and you can't stealth kill enemies.
Meanwhile, Bladewolf has a lot to do with stealth, making your health super low to encourage sneaking, and even making the BOSS FIGHT partially based on stealth.
That, and the fact that almost every section of blade wolf's dlc can be stealthed
+steamedrice97 All Snake needs is a new body.
Nano-machines, son!
+Major Payne That's what got snake into this mess in the first place!
+Shane D hey nano-machines are like violence. If you're not getting the result you want, you simply aren't using enough.
And that, children, is how over-doses happen...
Shovel Knight is based off of the adventures of Pat's dad.
25:20
When Blade Wolf hops onto Khamsin's back.
"Yeah!"
When Blade Wolf chainsaw-stabs him.
"OOOOHHHH!!!"
Disregard Khamsin, Acquire Freedom
A Platinum All-Stars fighting game with characters from all of Platinum's games plus guests from Metal Gear would be amazing.
add in speciel guests from some grasshopper games too, Julliette Starling is too perfect for her not to be in there
YES!
ColeVecsion Gimme dat Destroyman
Which wonderful 101 would they use? unless they make him like shulk and it changes by pressing a button
Wasn't Platinum formerly known as Clover Studios? If so, we should have Amaterasu from Okami.
The more wolves, the better!
So glad they noticed the stealth aspect of that last fight... I was getting worried. Also, they reacted the same way I did for all parts of this game. Makes me wish I played it with a group of friends too, so many crazy scenes that would have been fun to laugh at
Pat's Dad w/ Shovel accessory: coming to a store near you!
That should be a new skin and weapon for MGR! I'd play it even more!
7:20 Did they seriously miss Mistral actively helping out Blade Wolf???
Little did Pat know that his dog recreated the Iggy v Pet shop battle
16:05 The hypest of hypest hype.
I may just be a complete idiot, but what exactly were they getting hype over? I didn't see anything happen.
aBDKstan Their LIFE was seriously low, while it went into slow-motion an incoming missile just missed them in hype fashion. Therefore, hype.
TheIrishITFactor Oh alright I didn't notice that, thanks.
aBDKstan No worries bro.
TheIrishITFactor Nice Big Boss pic btw
I love that you can stealth every single encounter in this DLC, even the one at the start. In fact, stealth is THE way to pay as Bladewolf. Platinum Games know what's up.
Honestly I liked Blade Wolf but by the end of this story I liked and understood/sympathized with him A LOT more.
Nah snake would still be fine in this universe. Just sneak that shit and use scumbag tactics. Any straight up 1 on 1 boss fight he's fucked though
I love how you said scumbag tactics
the table has turned humman: the Dlc
Let's take time to appreciate what I think is one of the best boss themes MGR has given us.
i love how in a codec doktor said its like, nearly impossible to make an open world VR but world marshal made one of Denver for wolf :P
marshel can buy fighter jets, they have a shit ton of money compared to mavrick
The render distance was still shit though, it was more like they used loading screens, without another screen actually appearing over
Pat: Why the fuck would there be a red sun?
Woolie: I don't know, it's just the Rules of Nature.
Pat: Alright, no more song title puns Woolie.
Woolie: Awww, but It Has to Be This Way!
Pat: .... *facepalms*
IT'S A RIDER KICK. GRARGHHAGRBGHL.
Also, I'm disappointed we went this entire series without them coming up with the name "Littlest Robo".
Yeah, he's not very good at this.
Fuck, look how that last sentence turned out.
Zak Ras It’s pretty difficult to accommodate for?
Metal Gear All Stars sounds awesome. I really want to see Volgin vs Armstrong for some reason. Book end the series I guess? Whatever, it's hype anyway.
the ultimate battle of nonsensicle villains
Yo I would play that game so hard
Pat's dog standing above half-alive bird/
Mini-Pat comes and looks at his dad.
"It's time, son."
Pat pools out a boombox and turns it on.
"Rules of nature" plays as Pat's dad swings his shovel violently.
Woolie:Oh,and just feel that hot wind blowing,Matt?
*Matt goes outside and beats up woolie*
Khamsin propably has one of my favourite boss themes, period.
The hot wind blows. Across the sand (check it out)
I loved the crap out of this dlc, If anyone is on the fence about buying it, jetstream and blade wolf dlc is free now... SO yeah, get on that shit.
Not for PS3 in Europe though (still).
Dat group "YEAH!" upon seeing Bladewolf's chainsaw in the credit sequence.
Dada da dada-da RULES OF NATURE!!!
Gotta love Matt making No More Heroes references almost every time Mistral talks. "Now let us enter the Garden of Madness"
Seeing Pat run into the boss during the section where you're supposed to sneak around to get a sneak attack actually hurts
the funny part was when they were like '*super Mario theme song* then RULES OF NATURE!!!!!!!!
We need a mashup of SMB's Overworld Theme with Rules of Nature :3
I just discovered that Wolf can stealth kill Sliders. It's hard to pull off, but oh so sick.
I have no idea why, but as soon as the end credits played, my brain started imagining Bladewolf through the filter of an 80's action cartoon intros, complete with unnecessary chrome and grid-lines.
Congrats Bladewolf, you kicked the shit out of a cripple. Admittedly, a cripple with the most rad weapon I've seen this year.
You see what you've done, Platinum? You've made a game so fucking cool, this poor guy can't even string together a proper sentence!
You glorious monsters.
Pat: I'm gong to pretend I don't know who you are any more.
Woolie: A stranger I remain.
Pat's childhood wasn't entirely bad. His father and dog were tag teamin' ALL the animals in the neighborhood. PlagueOfGrapes, please we need you to make this an anime more than EVER!!!
"Inazuma Kick's the original."
*[screams explosively]*
this LP is literaly the best on youtube of the most insane action game ive ever seen with amazing ending! matt pat liam and woolie are the best four commentators who can keep their audiance entertained even in the most boring of situations!
George is not speaking with a accent he is speak a creole language and it is accurate to Guyana were he is from
2:18 hey look it's the cat :O
i like that cat :P
Me too
"This is robot unicorn attack with Blade Wolf." Platinum, you need to make this separate with a lot more levels!
This was awesome Matt, Pat, and Woolie, thanks guys!!!
Woolie: The Hot Wind is Blowing out here you guys! There are no Dark Skies!
Awwww... it's over now!
Khamsin isnt THAT bad. Im pretty sure that if Blade Wolf had fought Mistral he would have also won...
Manel Miquelino Finally! Bladewolf would kick her ass
Woolie: Sorry man, but it has to be this way
DSP: I can't do anything!
Jetstream Sam *turns toward the screen*: Fine, then I'll do it for you!
*The whole rest of the playthrough is run by a CPU*
If you take a good look at Blade Wolf's HF chainsaw marks, it actually says "IA"
well to be fare snake in THIS would would probable have armstrongs kind of nanoachines.
snake can handle pretty much anything but the actual bosses, and even then he could probably handle mistral.
if he can take down a rex on foot he can take down everything up to grads, especially considering he fought the BB squad which were bordering on this level of tech.
normal cyborg dudes is just a matter of stealth and an armor piercing or other special made bullet to the back of the head. plus he could just get a suit like Sams which his mgs4 suit was basically a prototype of (he was so 'old' that the muscle suit had to pick up the slack)
All I gotta say is that Blade Wolf's DLC needs a part 2, just so I can play as the awesome new version of him and to find out what the heck he was doing during his recon faze.
That actually sounds like an awesome idea for an animated short.
We fight for justice!
In a forgotten place!
Fulfill our duty
then vanish without a trace!
Oh man, I can't even handle the hype of this music.
When you realize that Pat would've bombed this fight had Matt not pointed out the stealth aspect
Snakes power is he always completes his mission, so if it was his mission, he'd beat anyone in rising. MGS Lore makes it a sure thing
Blade Wolf, Inovating the spin-dash with chainsaws. Awesome
I love when matt makes absurd references but in question form. "Colby sliders!?"
The battle that was so rad I couldn't blink for 3 days? Damn right I do.
I also love the fact of how Obito trolled everybody ...and is now the Juubi's Jinchuriki XD
I never made the connection that the RE4 dog and Hewie from Haunting Ground were actually the same dog, but now that you mention it, that makes complete sense.
"Why wouldn't you want spicy condoms?" Best last line ever
you guys are so funny especially at the end of this video LOL
I love pat's family stories, His dad seems funny too. Smacking at half dead bird with a poop covered shovel. lol xD
"He doesn't have a lower body, what a chump!" Pat, 2013
Haha I love your DSP impression matt
Woolie: Okay, I'm leaving.(Goes Outside) Hey, that sure is a glorious Red Sun, isn't it Pat?
Pat:...
Gotta love woolie's "drop the RULES OF NATURE" remix of super mario brothers
That ending was the absolute perfect way to close out Rising.
the idea of a dog with a chainsaw attached to it's back.. is Basicly the best shit ever!
The producers of the movie dog/hobo movie you guys keep mentioning should send you a thank you note for name dropping their film so much.
I love how this video ended
02:44 First thing I thought: Pat's father is Shovel Knight. Imagine little Pat Jr. next to this dude wearing a helmet with horns, holding a shovel, and with lava coming from the lower edge of his helmet, telling him how sick is to stomp over flying rats.
"This is Matt and Woolie saying...we had childhoods, and Pat did NOT."
The Hot Wind Blowing is one of my favorite songs of MGR. Shame that Khamsin got bodied, he's got a cool as design.
Pat's childhood is the inspiration for Silent Hill.
I know there probably won't be more DLC, but I so wish there was. If only just to see them play through it. The hype is just too funny. I'd love to play Monsoon.
Da Da Da RULES OF NATURE!!
That blew out my ears with awesomeness...
Once I started playing this on the PC I had to watch this again.
Why would you want spicy condo...(sees Blade Wolf's Chainsaw) YEEEEAHHHH!
You are guys are the best!
Jeez, the amount of Naruto references Woolie is making is ridiculous
Now we see why pat loves shovel knight so much. It reminds him of his father...
bladewolf vs big bull looks so satisfying. can't wait for game of the year edition with all the dlc included.
16:05 ...WHY IS THIS GAME SO HYPE!
You know what Blade Wolf looks like? Whatever you call one of those mini Zoids.
I think this was my favorite video in a long while.
Had a feeling that the credits would show the HF chainsaw and they would lose their shit over it. Good stuff
Mistral is really into blade wolf's red rocket.
Woolie: "well, you don't have the Byakugan"
Pat: "wait, is that the card game or-"
Woolie: "HUEHUEUHEUEUEHUEHEUUEUHEUEUEUEHEUEUEUHEUEHEUEUHDUUEUEHEUEUEHEUEUEUEHEUEHEUEUEHEUEEHEUHEUEHEHUEHUEHUEHIEHEUEHEUEHUEHUE"
Snake and Big Boss don 't need them fancy nanomasheens to get shit done.
I like how they collectively fill the room with spooge at seeing the credits screen.
they didn't see the ninja cat at 2:40...
I love that they miss the cat at 2:20 and then mention it about 10 minutes later
