I love this deck. I got it ages ago, and didn't even realize the majors were switched around like that. At least I don't remember learning they were until you mentioned it. I find it shuffles pretty well, definitely need to start reading with it again, it's been too long since I did. Thanks for reviewing this deck, I am so glad you like it.
I agree, it does need more diversity for sure, but one thing I thought of was that most portrayals of POC from that era were either racist caricatures, or something similar. I had seen an artist make a deck that they claimed was reclaiming that kind of artwork and terminology, and it is definitely not ok at all for someone who is white to try to do so. In case you're curious to see what I mean, look up the G*lliwog tarot by Ducksoup. It is a travesty, and the artist has vehemently defended the deck saying that it's not racist at all, despite many people pointing out that it in fact is very racist.
I know that modern artists could create an inclusive representation though, so you are correct, it is something we need to keep pushing for because everyone should be represented in a respectful and meaningful way.

This is so cute. I've been putting this one off for a while but now this and the zombie tarot are in the Amazon cart. Their made by the same company and If I get myself a tarot deck I need one for the husband. He loves zombies. The reason why theirs no diversity in this era is mostly because there wasn't any even on TV. Black people had their own TV shows that were starting to gain popularity and they never mixed. Unfortunitly in this era they even had their own drinking fountains as racism was so bad in this day. I do love the fact that all the suits have their own colors that's amazing for visual people. This would be an amazing starter deck for people who are intimidated by the origional look of the cards. I would say any deck is a good starter deck for cartomancy. I started with the akashic tarot and oracle. But I was learning the tarot system so I had to purchase tarot cards. My husband was surprised that I was able to pick up the cards and read people within 2 weeks of me having my deck I was already reading for people online. I had a 100% accuracy rate. I got the Cosy witch tarot not to long ago and it's addorible. But these are almost next level.
