  • Andy Stanley goes deep into a historical perspective on when the new testament was written to show proof that Jesus was real and why we should believe so.

    Let’s translate what Stanley said
    The Bible is indefensible
    The Bible is not inspired
The Bible is unnecessary for us now to know if Christianity is true, meaning, a detailed explanation of why Jesus rose from the dead
And Jesus Himself, who made it clear that he rose again from the dead according to the scriptures, doesn’t have a high view of scripture being inspired
    Andy Stanley should be rejected

So Andy Stan says that the Bible just documents things that happened in the past, eh? So because the Old Testament and even the New Testament words of Jesus are not about ME the Word of God is irrelevant? And that focus away from ME is a problem for the new breed of church-goers? God help us!
What about the quarter of the Bible that is prophetic?
What about the Fall Feasts of Israel?

Gavin Finley Protestants tend to misplace the Bible. It’s not that it isn’t interesting/helpful/ inspired. It is. I read and study it daily. BUT the collection of works in the Bible came from the church. The church didn’t come from the Bible. The Bible has been exceedingly important to keep the church from straying from Truth (which it has done and still does do). There are many whose faith is crushed by convoluted interpretations of exactly 7000 year old world-which is an interpretation-but they are told they MUST believe that or else. They can’t believe it, so they are out. Words in the Bible (as interpreted by an authority) are held above faith and acts and the big picture. The nit-picking without context turns many away
