I had 2 people sit next to me at the High Limit show at Putnamville last year. They'd never been to a dirt track race and was there to see Kyle. I did my best to answer any questions they had and to put our sport over. Telling them how there are many shows worth attending throughout the year in the area. Its our job to embrace new fans and recruit them and not scoff at them. If we want more money in the sport then we need more eyeballs.

Absolutely. A once in a generation talent who is a humble, family man and who also races 410 sprint cars, stock cars, dirt late model, and yes, sports cars. (Daytona 24 Hr winner) is being criticized for his ride in the Indy 500. You folks know he doesn’t need to do any of this. He can just do his weekend job. NASCAR. Show up Saturday morning, be back home Sunday night and take the rest of the week off. Larson is the best thing that has happened to sprint car racing in the last 10 years. He has raised the level of competition, awareness and exposure of dirt racing. I feel very lucky to be alive to be able to watch Kyle Larson drive race cars.

The rise, then fall and the rise again of Larson's racing career has been unbelievable!! Well, an incredible journey of ups and downs but is believable with the talent he has.

Agree 100% and I’m 100% behind him for what him and Brad have done to improve sprint car racing also and heck I’m not energy a I’m not a Brad 2:24 Sweet fan but I recognize the talent he has and what they’ve done for dirt track racing , I’d love to see the days like AJ and Bobby and Al Unser and Mario would drive both and young dirt talent got a chance in Indy cars but unfortunately that’s not going to happen because to many road courses which has dragged myself away from Indy cars and Indy will be the only race I’ll watch !

Rico would give a team a pretty significant advantage in the weight dept.

I agree. Tony Stewart brought a lot of attention to sprint car racing when he decided to return to grassroots racing when he was in NASCAR. Larson should do the same.

Be careful! There's a lot of Kyle Larson haters out there who think he's just involved to get the money and is killing the sport. On a serious note... I hear more talk about dirt track racing outside of that world than I maybe ever have. That's definitely a good thing!

If Larson wins it (unlikely) there is money in it but other then that do you really think there is that much money in it for Larson? I read that Kurt Busch never made much money running 4th in his run at Indy . Now I am speaking in the big picture comparing what he makes in nascar and his endorsements.

      @@Trackratz-zl9di,
I'm referring to Larson and the dirt track stuff. I think the 500 is more about just getting to do it in a competitive car.

I think Larson is a generational talent and whatever the pinnacle of racing is is where he should be but I’d be happy if he just ran dirt sprints and late models
