hi, i just got this grinder and trying to calibrate at zero point for espresso. is it necessary that it is running and have the two burrs kiss a bit? or should they be turned off? i realized i have a difference of 4 notches if i take zero point when it is off Versus zero point when it is on. i have not tried pulling shots with it (zero point with motor running) but i can tell it is coarser than my porlex.
lastly, you think someone ever hacked a ditting or mazzer burrs on these grinders? or added knock arm for residue? improve retention? would love to do mods before moving on to other grinders
    thanks
