People are asking what’s up with my funky thumbnail in the video?! I have Psoriasis and it affects sections of my hands & entire body. I’ve had it for over 20 years & while it’s annoying & looks weird, it’s not life threatening. Typically I try to hide it, but occasionally you can tell. Thanks for asking!
I totally understand ... I have it down my shins so now when I go swimming I wear surfing tights under my shorts to hide it.
I also have psoriasis.High five!
Video Idea: What would be the hardest thing to replace in your collection? Doesn't have to be the most expensive just hardest to replace.
Bro, I have it too on my legs and it took me a long time to be able to wear shorts, cos when I did I'd hear people say to their friends "eeuurgghh, did you see that guys legs, if I had legs like that I'd keep em Hidden man!" And other variations on that theme. A friend of mine said to me " screw those guys, they are your legs, and you gotta live with the pain not them, if they dont like it they dont HAVE to look right? Ever since I kinda dont give so much of a s**t , but I wouldn't say I'd exactly EMBRACED it ... you do you bro. I can honestly say I've never noticed it and I have watched a ton of your videos and enjoy your content. Keep on rockin M.J
@Addiction Friction T-gel worked for me too, also cavilon and dermol
man jason, i’ve been watching you since i was 13! and i’m 20 now, it’s crazy to think how fast time flies, but you look great and i’m glad the content is still amazing, i love your videos and i just wanted to say thank you for the great memories throughout my childhood/teen years, keep being great!
I appreciate that very much! Have a great weekend 🤘
@@MetalJesusRocks thank you dude! you as well:) rock on 🤘
🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
12:05 - that’s not "the XL edition of the 3DS" that is actually the New 3DS XL.
Yeah, those stupid naming conventions mess me up every time LOL
@@MetalJesusRocks that's ok,,the grammar police will overlook it,,,,THIS time,,,hee hee
@@MetalJesusRocks They were selling both still at one point. Imagine the confused uninformed mothers wanting to buy one for their kids. Couldn't they just stuck being Nintendo and called it the Super Nintendo 3DS XL?
The original Game Boy will always be sacred to me, I remember when my Cousin first got it as kids...even being able to play Tetris while camping in the tent on a rainy night was amazing.
Take me back to those days
Make sure to charge them all occasionally so you don't get swollen batteries.
The DS Lite is a great handheld too, it can play DS and GBA games, I use it with an everdrive to play all DS and GBA games, the screen is great and I love the small form factor, I take it with me more than any other handheld even the switch
Facts it was my first ds model, still have it to this day too. Even after getting the dsi xl (which I played a ton too) I still loved using the lite for the GBA games. And the design is super clean too
I have a silver ds lite, a oled PlayStation Vita and a switch. traveling wise I take the vita and ds lite.
The DS Lite really is gorgeous.
It has just the right amount of functionality in such a sleek shell.
I was really surprised he didn't have a ds lite.
@@tboatrig I think he got one on the latest road trip video
Dude i would love to check out some of those garage sales with ya.
Yeah I would too ,well I guess it's too bad ,,, cause it's a long commute between Washington and Florida,,,,
@@wyldelf2685 haha yeah, just a tad..
Sign me up! Lol.
@@wyldelf2685 screwed up because my cousin lived and florida and for a job had to drive to washington. Lol
You would think it would be good gravy gaming finds because of the Dead fogeys estate sales WRONG,,just first string Atari consoles and carts or 1952 Bally pinball coin ops ,,,if you were a kid in the 1980s it's donkey balls 🐎🐎
Gotta love Nintendo handhelds. The best company to ever do it.
Those GBA battery covers are easy to replace. You may not get a matching color, but it beats using tape or just having it missing 😉
Yeah, the tape looks pretty lame, I'll admit. 😂
You can get aftermarket ones that are color matched on Amazon all day
My red Gameboy Pocket has a blue battery cover and it doesn't look bad, tbh. Sometimes a different colored battery cover can look nice.
I personally think a clear battery cover looks better on pretty much all colours rather than an off colour one. Just a thought. 😁
@@ToxoRetro that's really good idea , the bonus side of it you can see right away if it has batteries or not ,,!😄😄
I wish I had the foresight to keep all the consoles I purchased over the years.
I wish i had the hindsight and the strength to part with all or some of the consoles i've owned over the years..i can't move in my room for so many..sadly i'm a born collector..i mean hoarder
@@markianclark9645 I salute you.
I prefer the switch lite over the switch for handheld, it just feels more solid without the slight flex of the joycon
Absolutely agree. My main switch is always docked most of the time. So I got the teal switch lite, which I keep in my backpack and take to work and such
Just hope you don't get stick drift regarding the Switch Lite.
@@leecroft7311 hopefully not but I'm repairing a friends lite soon so I'll have some experience for if I need to change my sticks
as a 5'8" Asian male, it shocks me to see Switch look tiny in your hands lol! Great video!
I know, right? 😂
@@MetalJesusRocks hey M,J, just noticed your friend Gamester81 just pulled down the video he uploaded earlier today so WTF ask John what gives ,,,,
MJR needs the OLED for handheld use.
As an 6'3 European here I'm watching it like, isn't that how it normally is. Now better thinking about it I can better understand ones view about controller size and layout, specially compared between Asian and Western in general. How Asian can prefer smaller controllers and be more comfortable and ergonomic to them, while bigger ones be better suited on Westerners with big hands. For me Personally I liked the Original Xbox Duke controller and the Sega Dreamcast controller which it took inspiration on, due to it's size and ergonomics for me.
@@sergeleon1163 Whoops, just woke up earlier when I read your comment and didn't realize that you did mention the Duke controller haha. Yeah I got the Xbox and launch and thank goodness my Dad was in Asia the next month so when he came back, we had the S Controller which made the console much better to play while the 2 Dukes we had were just for friends which were Asian lol.
Yeah the only thing I didn't like about the DC pad were the hard D-Pad and the upside down cable haha.
You got at least two limited edition systems at garage sales. That’s reassuring… you never know where you’ll find treasure!
I used to hit up garage sales every single weekend... it's definitely hit and miss, but "the hunt" is a lot of fun. I miss it.
@@MetalJesusRocks my part of central Florida seems stuck in 1972 when it comes to finding retro games,,now the GameStop and Walmart will get you everything New under the sun including Arcade 1-ups,,,but GBA , GAMEGEAR or SNES ?? you're basically screwed,,,
@@MetalJesusRocks sorry to
Ahh the 3DS. Where even collectors and enthusiasts may make mistakes with the weird naming of the “new” models. No biggie but your Yoshi 3ds xl is actually an older model than your red N3DSXL. Your video implies the reverse. Easiest way to tell is the layout and the lack of C stick on older models. Also! Perhaps next time we can talk about IPS screens. Modding has come a long way and all these handhelds now have the possibility of having an IPS screen. Gameboy, GBC, GBA, GBA SP. you could mention that all DSI XLs have dual IPS screens (but maybe not since the prices are so low atm) haha. The “new” 3ds xl also has the possibility of having dual IPS sceens. Just an idea perhaps for future videos.
Nintendo handholds will always have a special place in my heart. Awesome video and collection. Really enjoyed this one
The original Game Boy is probably my most enjoyed system of all time. When I was a kid my grandparents had some health issues so I spent a lot of time in hospitals and doctors offices. I still am really bummed that I was not able to get the Analogue Pocket, I am hoping that when they actually release those I can scoop one up.
"The ones that I'll actually use" -has like 40 of them.
I love how nintendo is bringing back the old school game and watch systems. Its such a cool concept that i hope to see more of in the future
9:13 the Gameboy Micro is actually a fantastic Handheld!
It is very small but surprisingly comfortable, even with bigger hands.
The screen is gorgeous and the stock backlight gave the best picture of GBA games at the time of the GBA Era.
Sadly they are hard to find in good shape and Hella expensive :(
Ive always had a soft spot for Nintendo, the Gameboy Advance SP being my very first game system when I was a kid c': 💕
Handhelds are so underrated in the collecting market. So much fun to collect!
Totally agree!
"Good. Keep it that way. " - major handheld collector/lover
@@MetalJesusRocks I enjoy the GBA , and the PSP , lately I really enjoy playing my SNES carts on my portable SUPABOY S made by Hyperkin ,,cool because it has ten-hour battery life with full sized SNES cartridges ,,,
They are usually the most abused at that.
Underrated? Do you even know what that word means?
I fell head over heels with the Micro when we got them in to test with at EA. I just thought it was so damn clever to make something that could fit in a shirt pocket. Even with that, I didn't pick one up because I had my SP that I was playing on almost every day. I regret not grabbing the Famicom colored one to this day.
my brother had the official grips for the 2ds and it felt amazing. almost like a console controller
Impressive collection I still have some of my old handhelds especially my game boy color that was the first handheld I bought with my own money (I was 13 and working a summer job) and a copy of Pokemon Blue with it to this day it's still workable that's one of those items that has too much sentimental value to let go of.
I agree everything has memories
I love your collection! As much as I love gaming in general, Nintendo handhelds are my fave systems. Very cool to see so many in one video!
love love LOVE this video! I have some of my original handhelds. Watching this is making me wanna collect again
During the prime of the 3DS I never got to have one but I just picked up a 2DS at a retro game shop a couple months or so ago. I love my lil’ doorstop lookin DS though I’m considering also getting a 3ds with the 3D slider. Great collection! Makes me wish I could have kept my old GBA and DSs from my youth.
Thanks for sharing your collection w us! Very informative and nice to see your appreciation.
Always a pleasure to watch your channel
Original DS will forever be my favorite, two slots from the start and screen I can use in the sun, fantastic system! N3DS takes second place for being an emulation powerhouse
I been watching you for years man...I just got my stuff in order...love watching you man...keep it up #Salute
7:15 That thing is amazing!! Great video and collection.
Yesss! A new Metal Jesus Rocks video! I literally wait for these to get uploaded 🙌🏼😁
Just turned on all notifications too! Didn’t realize they weren’t on 🤦🏻♂️😅
That's A Great Collection Man! I Have Some Of The 3DS And I Love The Special Edition 3DS And I Used To Have A GBA SP In Red But Great Collection
Just to put some perspective to how old that Mario 25th anniversary edition DS is, Nintendo celebrated the 35th anniversary last year. My guess is it was an employee's old DS based on where you live.
Awesome collection Jason! I love all the different variants you have.
Glad you like them!
A little text bubble at the bottom telling us the game that is being played would be awesome. So many interesting looking games! Cool video as always thanks
Loved this! Been super into collecting for the DS at the moment and just today picked up an Aqua blue 3DS after months of debating whether I ‘need’ it or not haha, it’s gorgeous imo! ❤️
I got a DMG as a young kid and then a color and then an advance. Never had a pocket originally, but now as an adult collector of sorts, I can’t get over the pocket. It just looks and feels so perfect, and the large screen is pretty sweet.
I have the Mario maker 2ds limited. It is my favorite handheld and I'm glad you were able to include your two in the video. It does have a weird form factor that looks like it wouldn't be comfortable but it totally is!
Wow i am actually surprised you haven't done this already! Great video
Thanks!
Great collection Man!
Bro those Seattle garage sales are legendary
Love the vid Jason! I recently got a handheld adapter for my mobile device and have been blown away. Highly recommend!
I love watching your game hunting
You know you’ve made it when you turn on your GBA and it plays your theme song. Love this video!
I know right!? Ain't gonna lie, it's pretty cool 😂
The DS Lite is hands down my favorite Nintendo handheld. Those were tanks. Outlasted my DSi which always had faulty shoulder buttons
Metal Jesus you ROCK
The Yoshi 3DS was the first 3DS I got and the design looks awesome!
Love this video! You never disappoint! 👍
Awesome video, you have a great collection of games, keep going with all these amazing videos.
Awesome Collection👍👍👍👍
All the Game Boys are very moddable, but the GBA mos scene is insane now. Backlight kits, rechargable USB C batteries, cases, buttons, LED kits, even audio amplifiers! Its a great way to get into soldering, or theres tons of drop in no solder mods too. GBC has a giant Q5 backlight screen too!
You have a very good channel and videos! Big fan now!
Yes man, loving the handheld love 👌
Badass collection , man.🤘😎
Fabulous collection
I don't expect to enjoy this channel as much as I am😁
I've been collecting ds and 3ds systems over the last couple years. It's awesomd
Awesome awesome collection! Thanks for sharing! I love love love Nintendo everything!
Great video! Gotta love Nintendo handhelds
I have the Yoshi 3ds and play it to death still by far my favourite edition! Great collection mate, from UK and would love to game hunt over in the US. All the best
Awesome video as always
2DS is great. I got it new a few years ago for $80 with Mario Kart.
14:35 before getting one I had the exact same impression and opinion about the lite.
But after getting one and using it for a few days I have to say the Switch Lite is the second best handheld I ever had (Vita being no. 1).
Also I found the controls on the lite to be surprisingly more comfortable than the regular JoyCons!
Perfect timing. I just put homebrew on my Wii U. I can't wait to play all the games I missed out on.
Just saw the post on twitter and rushed here. This is amazing! I managed to snag almost every US version of the 2DS and the new 2DS XL's recently, all I still need are the Pikachu and PokeBall 2DS xls and I'm done. That custom MJR GBA is amazing omg.
Sweet collection bro
This is awesome, thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it!
4:09 I think most of those battery covers are missing from people buying those rechargable battery pack things that would let you plug your gameboy straight into the mains power so you could play while charging them, they stuck out so much but it was worth it not having to root through all your odd batterys in that draw everyone had in hopes of finding a few with a bit of life left in them haha.
Great collection
I had the OG Game Boy and after that skipped a lot of handhelds. Fell in love with the 3DS, got the Zelda Ocarina of Time edition as well as New 3DS XL Majora’s Mask edition. Those days DS games were also cheap so I picked up more DS than 3DS games. Got 52 DS and 31 3DS games now, not that much, but some great ones in there.
Man did I love my Gameboy Advance
I just got the dandelion yellow gameboy color and the berry gameboy color which has been harder to find in my opinion for a fairly decent price at the 2021 Retro World Expo! Gameboy colors are my absolute favorite handhelds since I grew up with the limited edition gold/silver Pikachu gbc when I was a kid!
Hell yeah Metal you Rock man💯💪
This was super interesting to watch!😊❤️ I’m so glad that I timed my 3DS revisions *just* right😂, going from the original Aqua Blue to the New 3DS XL (2011 - 2016😭💕)!
Love the collection! I want them all
Such a great series of systems
Sick collection
I started my Nintendo handheld collection with the DS lite (I have 2 atm!) Great collection btw 😃
Awesome collection! I missed the boat with the 2ds but that’s probably the only thing I’m missing that I’d like to add to my stash
A local game store by me when I was growing up used to have very good deals if you bought a new console. I remember paying 40 to 60 Canadian for the GBASP SpongeBob edition. I had no idea it had any sort of value and it’s been my main GBASP for years
Perfect 👌, A lot more than any one I know.
You know that you have a problem when, you have more than one of a console.
4:10 funny, I have 4 of the original models and I never lost a single one of the battery covers... I always wondered how people manage to do that?
Caught up in there own little worlds and not paying attention,,would be my best guess,,,I noticed people with softer easier lives, tend to lose stuff alot,,mostly women ,,no offence to anyone just a fact,,,😄😄🤔
Its nothing to do with being a woman, the clip latch on the cover isn't the best and breaks so it doesn't hold in very well. I'm not rough with my gameboys it just happens. If its not holding in very well it might fall out and break or go missing
@@sarah.hamzah although I cannot agree with something "just falling off" or "just going missing" because that is something that does not happen without someone causing it.
I definetly agree that the gender has nothing to do with that process!
@@overlordalfredo geeesh ,lol I said "mostly"women , not "only"women , simply verified facts no agendas,,,
@@wyldelf2685 if that is verified would you mind shareing any data you base that assumption on?
The original slab style 2ds was released in 2013 and produced until the end of 3ds's lifecycle in 2020, even in parallel with the 2DS XL. I saw these everywhere and usually bundled with a digital game for under $100, often for $80.
I love your videos, you always have me wanting to spend money
Game Boy Advance was my first ever gaming device. Birthday present from my dad for my 10th. I used to have dozens of games for it but me, being a stupid kid, sold them to buy more xbox 360 games when I got that as a high school graduation present. Slowly starting to build back up my game boy game collection again but I do kind of regret selling all those games back then.
I used to own a silver Gameboy Advanced SP when I was a kid. I had a lot of fun playing on it.
Love ur channel!
Thank you so much!
Just added the dark blue Switch Lite to my own Nintendo handheld collection and I gotta say, I'm totally in love with it. It's like the sleekest, most advanced Game Boy Advance ever (No pun intended). Playing indies on this like Blasphemous, The Messenger and Wargroove is just amazing!
So awesome!
At the moment I only have a blue and black 2DS and a version 2 Switch but Nintendo handhelds have always been something else - my first one was the GBC.
I also have that baby blue DSi. I treasure it since it was my first Nintendo handheld console
Noice , looking forward for a review/thoughts on the new 2ds xl
I went on a searching spree for Game Boy Micros since I never owned one before. Now I have a used one in great condition as well as a factory sealed one that I tracked down.
Hell of a collection!
That's a cool collection. I hope you do more. Lilo and Stitch 2 on GBA is a surprise Metal Slug clone, but with cute Disney characters. Very under rated, plus Stitch RAWKS!
Nice!! I wish i had a few of those in my Collection. I thought the same thing on the 2ds after you said it was comfortable I’m thinking I might get one
yep me too, I now NEED a 2ds :-)
Right!
Digging the NES Control Deck paint scheme on the GBA.
Man, I have such fond memories of Nintendo handhelds, specifically GBC, GBA, and the OG ds.
I remember when the DS came out, I was in middle school. I got a blue one with Mario 64.
Every morning during school we would have to sit in the bleachers waiting for our day to start, so many people would enable the download play and a ton of us kids would be playing Mario kart.
Not to mention the hours I’ve spent in the various RPGs on the GBA. Very nostalgic.
