Battery SOC is almost irrelevant compared to temperature in the battery. Insane Mode heats the battery a little but not enough for max power. You still have to precondition for Supercharging to get max power. I went 10.75 @ 126+ mph in mine this weekend.
@@jhrner 46+ psi. Temperature was 142 degrees F on the track so there was no way to run low pressures.
@LearningFast Nice! I just got mine thr and got a 10.97 on the street behind my house with dragy, was debating playing with lower pressure but I might try higher now lol
Love the vulnerability of learning. I'd have no clue what to do at a tree!
As someone who has enjoyed working on and racing cars I am so conflicted in regards to your experience. It is beyond insane to me, to see someone who didn't even know how to stage (no big deal, we were not born knowing how to stage), cut a nearly PERFECT R/T on a PRO TREE... on your SECOND PASS EVER IN YOUR LIFE. Electric cars seem to take a huge amount of skill and knowledge out of the equation when it comes to drag racing, but I am happy to see you out there having a great time with your car. Maybe I will catch you out there tomorrow night?
I was out at the track that same night by the way (video on my channel!).
What great feedback. Thank you. What are you driving so we can meet up at the next event possibly? Going to check out your channel.
For me, your best upload ever!
Interesting on the last race against another 2024 M3P watching the visualizer. You could see him just barely starting to edge ahead. I think this was because of the wheel spin you had at the hit of throttle.
Would be really cool for Tesla to have a FSD “Drag Race” mode where it would handle the run.
I bet in the future, they may add other possibilities to track mode. That last race was epic with the 2024 model 3.
He said he was keeping his lights off, not using his AC everything to conserve power. And he was pre-staging which gave him the advantage.
Sweet! Didn't know they did that there. Gonna have to take a run down from Southern Utah at some point and try it out once I get an M3P. Maybe I'll convince my buddy who has a Model X Plaid to go with me and we can do a comparison of the two. He's never even put his into Cheetah Mode, so it'd be interesting to see how these two vehicles stack up together if he still isn't willing to do it. I bet it'd be pretty close in the quarter with him by a nose or so.
Yeah, it’s pretty awesome that they host these events at the strip. Great times for sure.
MAN, my car can't come fast enough. LOL I HATE YOU ALL THAT GOT YOUR CARS ALREADY! LOL. I told everyone that this was a 10 second car before I bought one, they said NO NO NO. I'm gonna smoke some folks for sure, this is a wonderful deal for a 4 door supercar sedan. Amazing
How about a 0-60 Speed - do you get that slip also or just the quarter mile?
Good fun - does the screen say you have 18” wheels on this 2024 M3P?? Which wheels/tires?
Good run. Not sure if the other guy had more charge, or what? I’d also stay back when cars are staging, and launching. Track rubber “could” fly up and break your windshield. Don’t ask me how I know. 🤦🏻♂️
Good feedback about the tire rubber. Yeah he was trying to conserve all the energy he could afterwards we were talking and he did have about 10% higher state of charge. Also driver mod :)
@@VegasModel3 yeah, sometimes the tree guy just wants to run, run, run. Windshields get broken, then you can’t run.
@g.dubyou6263 good point. Will stay back in the future as mush as possible
bro having the time of his life 😂
She was thick, but she was cute!
These things are going hurt a bunch of feelings on the street.
It's called a PRO tree. The top lights are you pulling into the stage beams.
This was a fun video! I have been wanting to go to the track her
here in Washington
Since I
Bought my Y last year. I have gotten acceleration boost after referring my friend. I'm wondering if you know approximately the e/t of the Y with boost? Thanks 👍
Here in Vegas with my model y performance. Thinking of going here tonight, are they enforcing the helmet rule and also the long pants rule when you have a car faster than 14 seconds in the 1/4 mile?
Yes, you will need a helmet, I saw a guy in a c8 corvette get kicked off the track until my buddy loaned him a helmet the same night this video was shot
Absolutely correct. Need a helmet for anything under 14 seconds. If you plan on coming out to the next event two weeks, hit me up.
Looks addictive! 😅 Wat was the settings? (Full send?)
It is addictive. Insane mode, heavy steering wheel setting and pedal to the medal
Dang I wanted to be there with my buddies but it’s too far from SD. I have a 2023 Model S that would be a good matchup for you.
That exhaust sounds great on that Tesla. I use autopilot @ the strip so I can read or have a snack
I don't understand why does your thumbnail show a legacy model 3 and not a '24 performance 🤔🤔
Need a Cybertruck to charge you between runs 😂
Let's see some of that Tesla footage, you have like 7 cameras in the car
125 top speed?
163 limited like the first released Plaid but was later raised to 175 OTA and +200mph with track pack option
That light was wack, no idea why you kept red lighting when you kept taking off at the yellow, one time even a while after the yellow.
I finally figured it out after 10 passes. Can’t wait to go back in a couple weeks.
@@VegasModel3 btw make sure you're never in Track mode, it cools the batteries down. Instead be in Insane mode which heats them up a bit, but if you want to maximize your performance and get the max power, make sure you also precondition the battery for supercharging. People have done 10.75s doing this method already, stock everything else.
The joys of racing an EV, air conditioner is always on and the car still runs at its best. Finally, GREAT video.
Thanks!
