#Caedrel - Hry
S9 had the most fun meta ever where every single team can play its own unique draft, if this finals was a 3-2 it could be the best finals ever
Both bo5's G2 had vs SKT at MSI and Worlds in 2019 were some of the best series ever imo. SKT the classic LCK controlled team with strong fundamentals vs G2 playing a very onorthodox style ingame where they traded alot instead of contesting objectives and ofc had very spicy drafts.
Even if FPX played against G2 10 series on this exact day of the final, FPX would still win all 10 series, and most of the times they would win cleanly 3/0 or 3/1... G2 was simply not showing up to the final at all. They got gapped since min 1 from game 1 to the last min in game 3... It was sadly a diagusting performance. It really hurts, but that's just how the cookie crumbles, sometimes you just can't play well... On this Final, none of the G2 players played well sadly, just unlucky
@@karlrose405 But you can't deny 1. The game 1 was closed 2. LWX also said G2 perform very poor
@@karlrose405 If you watched thoorins podcast with perkz he sad they would have been better if they didnt scrim at all before finals, he said they were in their on heads making their drafts too overcomplicated and bad. They also only scrimed like academy teams he said which didnt help them at all
@@karlrose405 I remember there was a caster saying G2 is better than FPX in every lane during the prediction lol.
Doinb's Nautilus mid was such a fucking flex. I was sad the perfect year dream died, but this final was epic.
I just remember Perkz saying that if caps went a Norma mid like ori they would be so fine that game
Crisp just casually channeled prime Mata in this series. Bro was putting in some WORK on that Thresh goddamn
He was like that the whole year, one of the best seasons ever from a support player. Him and tian were probably the main reason fpx was so good.
Something that really stands out to me in watching this series is the lack of dragon soul. The end game for game 1 feels so different since teams aren't forced into all or nothing fights for soul drake. And without soul it still felt like G2 could come back in the game if they found the angle.
yeah soul sucks if youre behind. it wont make you scale so people are forced to draft early game jg/champ
This year was GRF running a train on second round robin of groups SO HYPEEE
i miss that grf team man
Sometimes I wonder, in some alternate universe, what would’ve happened if sword wasn’t their starting top laner and I was Doran instead
@@kswitch0611 doran aw hell naw
@@kklap3219 isnt sword the one got shit on by the shy ?
@@sendongshakur2604 yep , if they had a good top laner in that series things will be more interesting bcs the top gap was so big
This just made me realise how much i hate the tp changes, like there was so many playmaking opportunities for pro play back then lol
By the time you can tp as top laner the game might be decided in a fight you can't join. All they need to do is lower the time even to just 9 or 10 minutes into the game
Are you mentally ill? lol Yeah sure is fun to see 8 out of 10 players picking TP. How cool.
@@abcdefghilihgfedcba Ye it was, compared to this garbage
As an ADC. TP changes made it so I can actually have a laning phase
@@jacklightn dont you like fighting?
Came here to support the video with engagement but ain't no dimension where I'm gonna put myself through that trauma from 2019 sry pedro
such a good memory, i remember this and IG v Fnatic as my favorite finals, because a friend made a bet and choose both fnatic and g2 so i won without even pick a team the skins for each champ (the RP at least)
Crisp and Tian played like maniacs this finals
I didn't even notice that LWX didn't die ONCE ALL SERIES, that's fucking insane especially on adc
wdym adc is supposed to have least death, the range advantage the role has makes it broken if you have the iq to be able to kite
@@cdcidsid9228 have you seen the current state of proplay? bot lane is getting 4man tower dove at 6-7min into the game, not to mention the amount of 2v2 kills that happen in bot lane alone
@@timpark02 the meta is literally pick 4 champs who can keep adc alive and then adc can zeri moment and get penta kill XD
@@cdcidsid9228 4 champs who can keep the adc alive? have u not been seeing the countless akali, sylas, jayce, irelia, fiora locks? Not to mention bot lane meta is still cait-lux, zeri lulu, lucian nami. zeri is the only one there that can have a zeri moment. tho if shes against lucian or cait, theyre getting dove pre 6
gimgoon also only died once in game 3 while they were ending the game, he went to stall perkz.
Still such a depressing time to go back and witness such a stomp for a team that was expected to win it all
Who expected that?
@@goldenhime8404Most people expected G2 to win once they defeated SKT, FPX were viewed as an underdog team at that time.
@@salutcava2262 people didnt know lpl was that good yet
@@salutcava2262 Yeah, most of the western fans and casters. All the Chinese caster predicted FPX to win and most of the Korean casters as well.
@@salutcava2262 That's so cap, leave it to western fans to make shit up. "FPX is a weaker version of G2." Absolute copium overdose, the west has no wins in a final vs an Eastern team.
No doubt, season 8 and 9 were the best period of league. I've been a fan of Doinb ever since he pulled out Nautilus mid, guy is a beast.
That meta was the best ever teams could be so creative and the 2 most creative teams were facing off in the final, best year of pro league!!
I Sayed up to 3 in the morning or something like that I was trying to stay a wake for so lone before the game started. I just remember how bummed I was after I couldn't finish the 3 game. it hurts me to go back and watch 2019 G2 content, there was a lot of good but I can only remember how it ended. It was my favorite induration of any team I known. in 2015-16 stared to watch/play League G2 was the first team I watched.
G2 only lost because the Worlds song was Phoenix
Phoenix team phoenix song!😯 EZ game!👌 Noob weu👏
the casting was legendary
Tian and LWX both peaked in this very series. One carried the early-mid and the other secured the lategame teamfights. G2 couldn't stand a chance against that determination.
Actually I think Cathedral said it best. This worlds probably had the most skill expression out of every other. It is what's been missing for a while because of the stale meta.
True, there wasn't any super dragon buff to make the game unplayable
Games evolve, for better or for worse. I'd rather have a constantly developing game than an unchanging one.
Its actually because roaming actually matters instead of game being fixed on draft and bot lane being dumbed down to a few champs.
I rmbr i hated and love this meta the most as a jgler since midlaners either pick galio sylas , tf sylas or pyke vs ___ mid. And most jglers r either kz , evelynn , lee or j4. Just everyone nuking 1 another , counter jgling 2v2 in the middle of the river all the time. Perma top prio for herald to rush 1st tower. And i perma banned graves. Good time.
@@kiryuin0030 strongest chess hater
You mean 2018 Worlds had the most skill expression, not 2019.
real mvp this series was quickshot with one of the best casts i've ever seen
FPX was such a cool team to watch. Such a different playstyle.
Fuck yeah, I’ve been wanting this to be a series sin the rox-skt video reaction
This just reminds me that FPX got robbed that one year w/ the same roster except Nuguri. I really wish Tian didn’t get injured or Bo didn’t get banned for match fixing 😢
Lol match fixing. What a clown
@@Ruintheus I think Bo placed like bets on first blood etc on himself which is match fixing. because FPX was 9-0? or something when he played.
@@damianking226 No, it was back when he was still in the LDL(lpl's academy).
Lol tian was insulting nuguri's family despite running it down at spring finals while nuguri was beating xiaohu into the ground. Then the the china media turn it around kekw.
@@Ruintheushe was literally forced to do it, atleast he came clean and exposed the matchfixing ring in the LPL academy league
Man how'd I wish he included twitch chat here. Their reaction would've been so funny
holy fk I miss so hard crowded worlds
last year were quite crowded no?
@@sneakysunset1765 NA library
@@BDuckie100 what worlds were u watching
Crisp was on another level this series
the casters were super clean this series, might even be better than the current ones
I remember staying up all night during Uni exams week to watch this at 6am and going to bed so upset man. I'm really lowkey hopeful this year G2 has Caps and Miky back with arguably higher ceilings across the board except maybe BB. I dunno maybe they can grow into their best form imo especially with bo3 and bo5 in EU now and more games.
BB has to go, really xD
I'm hopeful BB can adapt and improve
or you can just wake up earlier
I still belive they got lucky that year, T1 and G2 didn't play Quiana and it limited their drafts too much(on top of pantheon ban). And true final was FPX vs IG that year. G2 FPX finals was so onesided, and all 3 games was decided in draft already.
How passionate was the casting at the time.
i have never rewatched this final and i never will
4 Years later and this still hurts that much... that tian lee sin was different
Banger video! This beats last months uploads
As a 2019 & 2020 FPX fan, it’s still crazy to see how much they flex at ban pick.
11:54 if you don’t know the meta, FPX team looks like they have an ADC and 4 other champs could go anywhere
Riot, this is what exciting League looks like. Make the game more like this again please.
This was peak, i still go back and watch 2019 vods bc the meta was just so fun to watch.
This hurts man
This series hurt so much to look back at. iG 2018 wasn't as bad because even though it was 3 stomps, it was clear they were just on a completely different level to Fnatic so it wasn't really that shocking to see them lose. But this series, initially the reaction was that it was another stomp because it was a 3-0, but actually G2 were so much closer than people gave them credit for. These games were so competitive for so long, like even the first game it was like 32 minutes before FPX got any sizable advantage, and even then it still felt winnable for G2. What could have been man...
would love to see you do a throwback reaction to SSW vs SSB or vs TSM in 2014 worlds SSW was a god team would love to see your reaction to how they played
We were so fucking close to greatness
LPL junglers being gods in the Finals vs EU teams. Classic
this meta was so cool. btw is it possible that riot is forcing that meta again? gp is unreasonably strong for quite some time, they buffed lee sin and veigar and bot meta kinda is xayah kaisa sivir ezreal. they even buffed kayle, only missing like heca or kled and ofc the lane naut and pyke.
on another note, i remember that finals. my friend took me to public viewing and it was the first real esports thing i watched. the 3 0 happened and it was pure silence. everyone was just shocked and kinda left silently xD
i mean lee, veigar, kayle are pretty weak b4 buffs, easy sub 50% wr. Dunno what meta you are watching but no one plays xayah, kaisa and very few people pick ezreal. Sivir seems to only be played with yuumi or smth.
G2 in 2019 was the closest any team got to a golden year/grand slam. Won both LEC splits, Won MSI, and made finals at Worlds.
Skt 2015 was closer, one game off. DK 2021 was 2 games off
@Kobe O SKT T1 in 2015 didn't win MSI, so immediately they couldn't win the golden year.
Damwon Kia, in 2021, didn't win MSI or Worlds, so they weren't close.
Golden year means to win every event in a calendar year. G2 is the closest since they are the only team to win both splits, msi, and make finals.
@@t1tan145 wouldn't skt be technically be as close? Winning both splits, making msi finals and losing 2-3, and then winning worlds
Not even close to true, do research.
@@t1tan145 that why they were 1 Game away that MSI final would have meant the Grand Slam
this was the peak of league mark yetter did it right now its phreak season fire phreak
Thanks for reminding me of this superb series Im so happy it ended that way hahaha best memory
Pedro for president
Man, it still hurts
This was the greatest worlds ever just like the 2022 world cup
gimgoon was all "they cant say you're washed if you don't play anymore"
Good old days when the meta is unpredictable, now its the same old shit
Watching this reminds me of how fucking on smoke Crisp's Thresh was holy shit he does not miss
Game 1 was so competitive, sad to see G2 collapse in game 2. Momentum is very important in worlds finals its hard to win game 3 when you're 0-2 down
DoinB and Caps in this series was one of the most entertaining mid matchups in league history. The confidence, the skill, the flexibility, you really felt like they could do or play anything, it was exhilarating! And now....well, ya know, azir.
Perkz was adc and caps was mid
@@onarf I know, that's what I said 😅
Do these more
THIS IS REAL MID LANE
Can you do a 2018 IG vs G2 or FNC?
I missed the old items. Im not used to seeing the new items/reworked items
Revenge finally
Quickshot was a great play by play in this finals, not bias for g2 at all.
Compare to Drakos the next year in G2 vs Damwon - totally biased and devoid of energy
now compare it to t1 azael and atlus i love both of their casting but that shit was so biased compared to quickshot
It still hurts so much seeing this
"Why did Tian have to play like a god" - Caedrel
Imagine him saying that now 🤣
That silence in the end...
Wait doinb swapped his mobis into mercs mid game. That's genius
Please do other vids like that
game 1 draft: hooks go brrr
back when league was fun. I miss this
GimGoon also only died once this entire series
how hype was this man. I blame the item rework, fuck that shit
17:47 when he said "4/20" XDDD
It is okay winnableeee !!
16:34 Nice Kaisa flash 🤣
Legit every player from FPX was like on pablo pure coke. Everyone played out of their minds from top to supp.
bro was able to play lee sin 3 matches in a row xD
I was watching this series... I was so sad after G2 was stomped that hard.
Man first game G2 showed up it was close Af. The next two was just straight NSFW.
Thanks Grabzz for letting Tian's Lee Sin open.......
Damn. I miss PapaSmithy's casting
Ah yes GimGoon that legendary toplaner that gapped everyone till this day
Man this hurts
Midlane was so good make roaming great again
always come back to this series to make myself feel good after a hard loss
Gimgoon, the god of weakside top
they have a gold lead and can win aware 😢
2019 was pantheon meta; you HAD to ban pantheon every game; it was far too powerful to allow.
Best series was FPX vs IG
What i miss the most from this is papasmithy :(
After this rekkles joined the team and pyke was never played again. and now hes destroyed another team.
The reason why G2 was so good that year was because their map control was so good even from behind. Like they're so persistent af.
i am T1 fan, i cheer G2 at 2019 final cuz they beat T1 so they have deserve for worlds win. and if they won at worlds g2 get grand slam on 2019.. but they lost.. so it was so sad...
g2 win t1 so easily but how fpx win against g2 3:0..
I miss the old crisp hooking like he will kill anyone
If EU won finals maybe we'd see EU players being imported into other regions
Biggest jungle gap in LoL history
Why am I crying?
Why didnt they ban Tian's Lee Sin. He was a god on that char
S9 was so fun, s10 was also good but not as good , and then s11 started the downhill
Even if EU won Worlds, there would be no difference. There is only one team in history of LEC could win Worlds, and only 5 of LEC pro players on the same team could possible of winning Worlds. However, look at LCK and LPL, they are producing new Worlds winning players and teams every single fking year. If EU are not improving as a whole, they will makes no difference, but this year format changes is a good start.
I was probably the only european supporting fpx in that game
no me too
Ig vs fnc next please
Getting beaten in their own home region then get dissed by the world champs after the match.
This series got me so mad at G2, tbh. I bet on FPX winning against my then university classmate (who was a G2 fan) because I liked my odds. I wouldn't have minded losing, but what I wanted was to at least see a banger series. But then G2 didn't show up. I got some money for it, but I was still so disappointed.
This meta was so proactive. 2019 G2 or 2019 FPX would smash any 2023 team including 2023 T1. Both teams were badass.
@@ManHeIsAwesome Nah, I highly doubt that. The top teams of today are pretty proactive themselves. 2023 T1 are not only dive gods, they are also more mechanically gifted than both these teams.
@@ManHeIsAwesome 2023 T1 are pretty proactive themselves tbh. They don't end games as quickly as the 2019 teams, but their snowballing is actually much better
@@ManHeIsAwesome The reason why teams feel more proactive then is because of all the anti-snowballing mechanics Riot has added since then. Tp changes, turret plates, bounty objectives, etc. It only feels slower because Riot intentionally made it slower.
Quickshot caster is good?
You bet it is brooo, that is an og, you good caster as well but quick is on different level bruh
When Doinb out cs caps every game, better ganks, better teamfights...
