- In this video we went back to Westport [WA] to try and take on the mile long jetty again! last time was a solid skunk for us, however this time we had success at our last hole where we stopped we were told was a good spot for lingcod! the nice guy didn't lie as about 20 minutes into fishing the hole i got so lucky as to hook up to one of these beautiful bottom fish using a "Berkley Gulp" white grub with a 3/4 swim bait head. The fight was crazy as I was using a medium heavy rod with eight pound braid but I landed the fish and it proved to be a decent fish and a great dinner!

love watching your videos getting better and better! good job man
Thank you! I really try!!
Awesome fish. Great video man. I would invest in a small dry bag for your Canon man. I've destroyed one out in the feild and it's no fun. Keep the vids up. I'll deffenitly be watching more of your vids. Fish on and tight lines brother. I'll be heading to westport soon so thanks for the tips on jetty fishin.
I really should! Especially with how much it rains here in the PNW! 😂😅
I know that feeling when you get skunked and my worst case when Ever I decide to make a video I catch only one that day . love the video though
thank you!
"I'm so thirsty, I gotta cover my drink so I don't get any water in it" haha that cracked me up.. but I totally get what you meant! Nice fish. That looked so delicious!
Lol I think next time will be smart and bring water 😅😂
Nice dude! Glad you got rid of the skunk! An dope fish!!
We too! It had me shaking!!
Nice fish! Usually when frying fish flip them after 3 minutes and at 6 your fish is just right. Way to stick it out and keep trying! Just caught my first lingcod at westport Jetty on Saturday.
Nice! 👍
Thank you!
it was good!
It was
Glad you ended your dry streak!
Same!
looks good!
great video
Thank you!
i love lingcod!
I really enjoyed it!
Nice fish!
great fish man!
Thank you sir!
Nice catch bro! Lings are rare these days!
One note? You went WAY too long cooking it! It takes seconds to OVERCOOK a fish like Ling. Seconds.
Secret is high heat and FAST! I'm sure it was tasty enough? But if you cut down your cook time, you'll get that taste to be next level bro!)
Nice video!
way to go bro!
Thank you!
love those grubs
Seemed to work well here!!
Little foggy, but it's better than working, lol.
Always is!!
good job brother!
Thank you!
may i ask where about u are from im from raymond southbend area and love fishing this area
I was living in the Tacoma area but I live in NC now sadly lol
Ok what you guys call lingcod is definitely not what we call lingcod, I saw that in the title and immediately pictured a burbot. Love when you get in them in the winter and have to sit there for 10 minutes for it to relax enough to get up the hole then they have a weird writhing thing they do.
A burbot is also known as a freshwater lingcod
@@theragingswede7561 Fair enough I've heard plenty of people just call them lingcod either way tasty fish.
@@RedRiverWilds that's what i have heard, I can't wait for the chance to fish for them, have to travel a bit to get to where they are though
@@theragingswede7561 Favorite method of mine is to use a bit if cut fish on a heavy jig or spoon and bang it around the bottom a bit, that and if you're able a set line along a drop off around you and you should get on some. They like a bit of garlic.
By the way, how much did that fish measure?
“Washington marine area 2-2- lingcod: no minimum size”. I never fish an area without checking my regs before hand the “fish Washington” app is a great tool to have on your phone gives you all the regs in a simple to understand format.
@@The_Evergreen_Outdoorsman Good job! My husband is a fisherman and 22 inches is the minimum size in central California and he is the one that was wondering. I'll let him know. Nice video.
teeth remind me of a walleye
Kinda does, doesn’t it!
go farther out bro and toss small pink jigs.
Yes! I actually have another video where we went pretty close to the end and I hooked into a much larger ling with a orange and pink ribbon tale! That jetty is awesome
