    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 Před 3 lety +2

      @@violentkim The combo code breaks the game, better off to play without it as SNK games just aren't good with Mortal Kombat style juggles. Not sure why the hell that cheat code was implemented. Otherwise, no version of the game had combos by default. Fatal Fury 3 is where the combos for the series got their start.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 Před 3 lety +3

      JazzPianoObsessed, it plays quite well, more than people want to give it credit for. Though Fatal Fury Special on the SNES is even better, you get more fighters to use, and it sounds and looks even better. Shame FFS SNES removed Jubei's sandal kicking animation (it is in this vanilla FF2 release though, but not in the Genesis version oddly), but the background paintings in his stage fit more his perverted style with the oil paintings all being females. The Japanese SFC version also didn't restart music between rounds like the US SNES version did, something I find quite puzzling between the regions as they are the same console hardware.

    It looked pretty good I suppose but the SNES lacked the arcade/Neo Geo sound capability, which made all the difference. Look up the Neo Geo version of this and you'll see, or should that be hear, what I mean.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 Před 4 lety +4

      You were not going to get the same experience from a $50 game that you would get from a $200 Neo Geo cart, everyone knew that even back then. This was for the people not rich enough to have an arcade machine like the Neo Geo, or an AES in their home. There's the Neo CD version which is cheaper, but I never saw one in stores back in those days.

    • @carlossantavilla2997
      @carlossantavilla2997 Před 3 lety

      The SNES could do BIG things and perhaps with similar quality as the Neo Geo. It was about the megs used. This was a 20-meg game while the Neo Geo original had 106 megs. That extra space made the whole difference. Having a much smaller amount of space (megs) it meant had to sacrifice quality for gameplay. Had to recreate both grafics and music based on what they had on hand. If the Super Nintendo version had the exact same amount of megs it could have been a very, very close version to the original. And I say "very" because if there was something the system couldn't do, then it had to be put externally using the source of space available. Another example is Turok Dinosaur Hunter. It had 96 megs and Turok 2 Seeds of Evil up to 256, both for NIntendo 64.. Nedless to say how it went from morning to night on both grafics and sound.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 Před 3 lety

      @@elianandres4326 MD version removed the scoring system, also had codes I found useless, like the faster speed (Fatal Fury was never meant for speed), and infinite juggling, something which belonged in an MK game (the only useful code was the one that unlocked the bosses). The Genesis version also lacked character specific endings, a big no no in my book, and a problem shared by the Mega Drive, and US SNES versions of Power Instinct (only the Japanese SFC version had endings for each character), and by World Heroes on the Genesis.
      Seriously, would it have hurt the Genesis version of Fatal Fury 2 to have character specific endings? Not likely.

      @elianandres4326 Před 3 lety +1

      @@Bloodreign1 well, I think that is better for the gameplay and music, but maybe I am wrong. Also the bosses have their each ending and can be playable.
      Probably fatal fury special on the snes is better(better graphics, more characters, stages, etc) but the megacd one is better I think than the snes one.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 Před 3 lety +2

      @@elianandres4326 Mega CD Fatal Fury Special is horrible, it was handled by a western developer who had no access to the games source code. A ton of animation missing from even the Gen/MD version, Jubei's stage was without his paintings to break, and no announcer at all really hurt the hell out of that port. And that's not even mentioning the games load times. Samurai Shodown also shared the same fate, and the same western developer handled the port. You want a good CD port of FF Special, I recommend checking out the PC Engine CD port, and prepare to be amazed by how wonderful it is. It has eveything that the Mega CD version lacked that I listed.

      @paoloretrogamer Před 2 lety +3

      @@Bloodreign1 Some corrections here:
      The Genesis Version HAS Character specific endings, you just have to finish the game without using continues on normal or hard.
      Scoring System? Is that a loss? sure wow points but it is not actually important to the game, same applies to the cheats, it doesn't ruin the game, it actually is good to make optional instead of not having it making more replay value.
      everyone has your opinion, but i think you are being very nitpicky in this case.
