  • THE STRUGGLES OF WINTER TROUT FISHING!
    Winter trout fishing is arguable the most difficult time of the year to catch trout - which is what makes it so good. While most anglers are sitting at home tying flies there are a few who still decide to brave the elements and go fishing. The rewards on a good winter day are always worth the misery, and because so few people are out fishing you can have entire rivers to yourself. This makes it a perfect time to explore your local waterways for some of the biggest fish of the year.

    My favorite time to fly fish - the solitude and the stillness of winter fishing, most definitely worth braving the elements and the challenge of catching fish this time of year. Happy New Year - cheers!

    Absolutely. Big browns sip. And small browns pound the top column.. watched some higher 20in browns sip just a ring at dark.. and then another. Cast let it flow down no indication just a ring set. And omg. 22in . But during the day even in summer temps all the big browns find deep pools n holes n sit tight. Hammer crayfish and ez meals Caddis. Chase minnows. But not like rainbows will slash 6x at it till it hits it. Love your videos bro. Nothing fancy. Just cover good water.

When they are in the mood to eat streamers there’s almost always going to be some missed eats but I’d mention that a strip set instead of a trout set might have stuck some of those ones you missed! • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  Před 2 lety +2

      You can do that if you're in larger water. The issue with smaller rivers and streams is if you get up beside or in front of the fish to swing the streamer it may spook them. So typically I'll fish at a 45 degree angle at first and then swing the streamer if that doesn't work
