    I simply love these videos from POWER REPUBLIC! The "hobby" approach from a professional is appreciated! With these VID's anyone can do some DIY on their karts. I have installed the same JECKO into my DD2 and my son's new seat into his MICRO already. (note: in my Ricciardo DD2 the seat will not be in the middle)
    Keep on rocking!

    This video helps a lot because i just brought a Go kart with a s100 engine The push start and changing it over to a 125cc But didn't realise the seat frame was for a junior And I am just a little bit to big for It so Without this video I would have Wested money Because I didn't know that we can bend the bars out a bit without breaking it

      I don't believe there is any variation in models currently...this one derrick has in the video is called the silver soft and I think is the only seat they are currently making. Prior to this the model before was called the close edge and had the different colour edges but they no longer make these I believe.

    Can you explain some more about front and back width maximum for kz drivers?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 lety

      KZ problems are not really my speciality my friend. But if I have bad grip into and out of the corner (oversteer) then you could try
      - max rear width 1400mm
      - lifting the axle and dropping the rear ride height
      - maybe a softer axle
      - bigger long rear hubs

    I fitted my seat about a centimeter below the frame, and thinking of plating it with steel to prevent damage, alonge with skid protectors that are also fitted to my chassies. The part im not happy with is the 2 bolts also hang down that far and point forwards. Its sat on rubber mounts below the seat which raised it an inch, and that still leaves alot hanging out the bottom. I think i need to cut those bolts...

    • @PowerRepublic

    Hey again, first time owner, happy to have run my Intrepid Rok 100cc for first time, fantastic! At home, cleaning, admiring, noticed seat points to the right. The difference is 5/8 of an inch difference in gaps from right vs left taken from seat to a fixed point on chassis. I feel disappointed. Is it a big deal? To re drill holes holes so close together is not a good idea in my opinion. Thanks in advance!

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 lety +3

      the kart seats are sometime off set to the left of the kart (brake side) to compensate for the engine weight. don't stress, the guys that put it in probably knew what they were doing so until you have used it some more and have an idea of some problems you are having then I would leave it and focus on your tyres pressures

      Power Republic is it normal for the seat to be “to the left “ I have looked on another website that tells to measure from the top left hand kingpin bolt . Do you only measure from the lhs . Is it normal for this measurement to be more than what arrow say as they use a lmaf silver seat which is slightly different . I’m assuming it’s to offset the engine weight on the right .

  • @IggySport1388
    @IggySport1388 Před 4 lety +1

    Right Derrick so here's my issues with these jecko seats, the placement is always an issue and then has you turning your brand new expensive seat into swiss cheese. The official seat chart from jecko only references the distance from the back of the seat to the axle perpendicularly... I can see from your video you had that seat at 130mm if you measure it the way jecko say to. A distance of 130mm corresponds to what they say is the "senior" placement but you said in your video you were mounting this seat for a "tall" driver, which means if I'd followed jeckos chart and put this seat there it'd be way to far back for an average height senior driver like me. To me this alone is a huge turn off when considering the jecko.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 lety +1

      fair enough, I haven't been able to get to the track to test it out against the Tony Kart seat, so I can't really give you the first hand feedback yet. the seat position is always going to be a compromise depending on your body size and weight. I think with new guys without the prior experience can start in the 'standard' recommended position. guys with more experience can make a more informed decision where to put their seat.
