Bro please stream on twitch again and show us your new mixing process. Top to bottom how you used to!! 🔥
I have something coming !
@@HelpMeDevvon let’s goooo!
Cant wait 💯
🔥 you can also sidechain the reverb to the vocal so the reverb ducks everytime the vocal is on
much better solution
This is an absolute gold mine, I’d like to also add, now that y’all know the fundamentals, its fun to “break the rules” to find whatever works with the vibe of the songs you’re working on. Knowing the technical part will help with the creative part. But first just create the vibe. You can add 2-3 reverbs on one audio signal if the song needs it😂😂
Before you started playing with the middle nobe I couldn’t hear what you was talking about!!! Now I get it!!!
Really helpful thank you Devvon
Really enjoyed how calm and relaxed the delivery was, made it very easy to follow. More like this please 🙏🏿
Good stuff as always bro!
very helpful vid bro deffo answered some of my questions 🔥
This is GOLD bro! Thank you 🙏🏼
Helpful indeed 💯
Thanks brother, this was a great tip.
I was listening to a particular vocals today and I was impressed by the way the reverb sits in the mix and was wondering how to achieve that, then booooom CZcams notifies me on this video... This is nice I'm definitely applying this lecture. Shout-out from Nigerian 👌
Needed this💯💯💯 thank you 🙏
Good Advice Men 🙏🏼🔥
I love the way you explained it.
Love this tip, explained really clearly and I've sent it on to a few people when I've not been able to articulate this as well. I'm also a big fan of using side chain on reverbs to, but even then the decay time still needs setting properly to......
Can i just say your videography is on point! Setup looks amazing, only recently found your channel and I'll be watching back through your back catalogue
Thank you for this video
Great tutorial bro! Keep going strong!
Really Helpful bro🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
i literally needed this right now too. perfect timing
Love your videos, one of the only people I can come to on CZcams to really fully understand mixing better😂 do you do any private lessons for mixing?
Thank you Dee...i ddnt know and paw now i know ...cape town south africa...🎧😎✌
even though i think saying "bypassed" and showing it in black and white when both times the reverb is engaged could be pretty confusing to people just starting out/at an intermediate level, i think this tutorial is really helpful. keep it up devvon
I will improve that experience thank you for the feedback!
agreed, I've been mixing for a minute but "bypassed" threw me off too
Perfect follow up to this is showing people how to duck the reverb with sidechain and or putting people on to reverb plugins that have built in ducking like Klevgrand's Kleverb or RUM, or Baby Audio's crystalline which is a stupid-crazy-good reverb btw. for the non lazy folk, they can automate mix + decay for certain moments. This song is fire btw too G 🔥
thanks D
Anguilla producer here! ✌💥
This should be my first time commenting and i must say how honored i am to have literally been you student in absentia ☺️....your videos have helped me thus far tbh. Most especially the L2 trick while mixing and now this....Superb 🙌🙌👍👍👍
I’m super glad it helps I really appreciate it!!
@@HelpMeDevvon uwc. I was thinking if you cud try something out..sounds crazy bur ☺️...try bussing all tracks including the beat n vocals into one buss then add a reverb plugin as a sends to dis buss...now u turn down d fader of d reverb to a point where d reverb cant b heard or isn't doing anything at all ..💯💯
good stuff... I'm still learning... I'm still learning everything and this shiii is confusing...
U so helpful
Beat was tightttt
Hey Devvon is there also A way to link the predelay and decaytime knob so you can make slight ajustments to the placing of the gap while maintaining its amount?
Im sure for reverb plugins that DONT have the Tempo feature, you could manually make that pre-delay on calculator.
60,000 % (BPM) % (2's, 4's or 6's) . Depending on your bpm you'll land on the (1/4th, 1/8th, 1/16th ,1/32) in Decimals or Numbers.
If you really good & Used to it you'll know what those delays sound like when you hit your Decimal.
~P.S: To undo the Division just multiply by even numbers, so (x2's, x4's, x6's) to go back up in Numbers/Decimal. Vice Versa Divide by even numbers the same way to go down in Numbers/Decimals.
(Some plugins might round out the decimals you type in or turned the knob to hit that specific number, But that's perfectly fine too).
You got it!!!!
there's something I'm confused about devvon, when setting the pre-delay to the 32nd note shouldn't you also set the delay time to the same equivalent? can you mix and match the tempo time setting like that i.e 1/16 pre-delay and 1 bar delay? and if so when when you do that as opposed to making them equal like let's say 1/8 pre-delay and 1/8 delay time
you a god
Such a subtle nuance but you can hear the vocal pop out instantly
do you have to adjust to release time of the delay to compensate predelay if youre using the proper time for the bpm?
Bruh great song.....You should start mentioning song's details and link in description
How often do you sidechain your reverb to your lead vocal? Would you recommend it for most songs?
What headphones do you use in studio?
So basically
Decay = Release
Pre delay = Attack.
Have you ever tried sidechaining your vox to the reverb ? I see people doing it with gates so it opens and closes when there's gaps in your vox to fill with the reverb . Haven't tried it myself
Devvon, I have watches countless videos of yours on sitting vocals in a beat (mostly 2tracks). Most your content talks about your vocals cutting through the mix but I seem to have the exact opposite problem. Vocals feel like they are just on top of the beat; like they’re just separate. Can you make a
Video to deal with that specific issue?
I/We need the stems for your songs bro please lmao🔥 I want the ones for Karma
What song is this
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I neva undastood da „distance“ knob on dat reverb cuz „pre-delay“ is normally da knob 2 control how far away da sound should b by d-layin da reverb.
While bypassing don't put colourless screen stay the same
❤❤🎉🎉
If you converted 1/32 to milliseconds, what would it be?
I'm reading his tempo as 177bpm (i.e. he's working in "double time" of the true bpm - 88bpm). 177bpm / 60secs = 2.95 beats/notes per second. 2.95bps/32 = 0.0921875. So...roughly 92 milliseconds *for this particular song/session*...?
I never have these plugins 😭😭
😁😁😁
kinda wish i could sit down with you
Tulesambilila bwino from you.
You need a separate channel for Audio nerds bro
I have to disagree, this keeps the channel active plus sumtimes Audio nerds podcast touche in a topic u later see in more details on the HMD tutorials so why not just hv all that in one place...?
@@cgnature yea I feel like a channel that has a variety of content just makes our overall HMD community stronger. Think of it like a television network having a variety of shows to keep you interested
@@cgnature because it’s like the first of its kind and when I’m telling my bros about it they find it hard to find them because Devon has tons of tutorials
I couldn't hear the mistake :/
First To Comment
I just use a reverb calculator
What lines are you talking about? Vocal is a permanent line!
Y’all really snapped with podcast and the videos. Always more in depth tips that school didn’t speak on. Appreciate you and the AudioNerds crew
