I will never forget this, was in the second row and was so freakishly amazed by her projection. Listening to her without music IS MUSIC. At points she had the mic three feet away from her mouth, yet her vocals soared through the arena and down your spine. To deliver this over two decades into a career is astounding. God bless her~!

I think she is SO humble. She has no idea how famous she is. She always assumes people dont remember or know her earlier songs but this video shows how legendary and multi-generational she really is. Mariah is truly the most influential artist in the last 25-30 years and her music will always be a foundation for artists in the future.

This is not the original key... This is 2 semitones lower than the actual recording on the CD.
She sang the climax in original key, she changed it after she started singing it 2 semitones lower.
No, this is not the original key at all the original climax is set in F minor and the original key is F major which would just mean the climax is taking the minor Three (III) chord and making it stand out for the climax.
Even sheet music states this. This is much lower than a F.
deadwalke The sheet music website isn't always accurate. Plus if you layer the climax over the original song you will hear they are the same pitch.
Her falsetto during post-prime is better than prime, and that part in 2:47 really shook me. My heart started feeling fuzzy and warm, knowing Mariah will always be Mariah.

Whats amazing is you have two twenty plus year old songs, sung and written by an American artist and they are sung word for word by thousands of Australians. She is the definition of a legendary global superstar. I believe this type of talent is dying off. She is one of the few still relevant ones left. Elivis, Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Madonna, Rolling Stones, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Mariah. I don't see anyone on the horizon to take their place. It's a shame

Exactly right lol. Mariah always tests her whistle out first before bringing it directly to the mic unless she's absolutely sure it's there (usually when she has had proper sleep). She said this in an interview a while back

It will be very difficult for her not because she's lazy but she's the type of artist who needs a lot of rest for one show due to her nodules. Which is very difficult to do, most of her dates are in straight period leaving her 1 or 1 1/2 rest day.

I think the reason she doesn't sing this song much anymore is because it requires a great deal of fluctuation and projection, and her voice isn't as strong as it used to be.
I'd still pay good money to see her sing this song live.

This woman is a living legend. There have been a lot of great voices in the music industry, but nobody compares to her. All she needs is a piano line and a spotlight...she is blessed with unique talent and put a lot of work in realizing her dream. God bless her...if you follow an artists career for like 28 years, the way I have done that, they are something like a close friend to you.
