You don’t realize how good the 60k mic is until you’ve heard everything else back to back. The sound was crisp

Wow Stefan is incredible. I was actually really surprised. I originally was thinking 'there probably won't be much difference between that mic and the more high end mics' but you can REALLY tell the difference. The binaural effect with Stefan is one of the best I've ever heard

This is a great point. I always forget that CZcams compresses things so we aren't really hearing the true capability of these mics. I would kill to be able to hear that 60k mic without compression

1) zoom h6, so sensitive and crispy sounds, the best for my ears
2) stefan (i guess) the quiet room really helps, i love it
3) RODE, a huge fan of spaced out binaural triggers
4) steven, amazing for witch fingers, but not the greatest sound quality
5) 3DIO, meh, it's okay
6) blue yeti, sounds strange and not natural, and too static
7) mini mic, i hate when they're no binaural, idk stresses me out

Agreed zoom sound quality is very nice, altough i feel the 60k mic makes it very easy to hear from what direction the sounds are coming from.

@@omranbounour4037 the other microphones create a sense of direction (as in where the sounds coming from).
@@omranbounour4037 That it uses two microphones combining the sound to make you hear in "3D" the same way your ears are working. It makes you able to hear from what direction a sound comes from. You need to have headphones to hear it though.
@@assarstromblad3280 nonononononono. binaural and stereo are 2 different things. the 2 rode nt1 a for example are stereo (they have a left and a right) and you will not be able to tell if a sound is below, above, behind or infront of you. binaural on the other hand is when there is a specifically designed ear shape around the mic to create a sense of 3d sound. basically our ears can recognise where a sound is in a 3d space because of the shape (the shape reflects the sound into our inner ear and depending on which direction a sound comes from it gets reflected differently and our brain can then tell where the sound is coming from). the 3dio and the ku100 are binaural mics because of the ear shapes and with those you can accurately tell which direction a sound is coming from (when wearing headphones). I know that was a bit nerdy.

Those Rodes are usually some of my very fav mics for ASMR but I think the low sensitivity / volume made them fair not so good here when A/B'in the louder is usually preferable so as they come across as too "soft" when it's just down to settings used as I know they have very good dynamicness and punchiness to the sound and precise sound typically. Also in round 3 the left n right mics are reversed :)
I always loved the Rode's just because ASMR massage used them and they have a nice subdued sound to them that I can fall asleep to.

he went to a university and used their mic but yes he does so a lot to get us the sounds we want.
I prefer the $1 mic to the blue yeti and the zoom HD because while the $1 mic is obviously picking up background noise it’s more general air noises but the blue yeti and the zoom HD we’re picking up annoying high pitched frequencies kinda like when an old tv is on not the same noise but kinda like that
For me the favourites were: Zoom H6, blue yeti pro, Neuman KU100 and HATS [Stefan]
Least favourites: the mini mic, rode NT-1A
Neutral: 3dio

the first single microphone was real good. the two ears were really good because my left ear is sensitive so going back and forth was really nice but my favorite was the most expensive

I think it comes down to talent, JoJo. You can make a 1$ mic sound incredible, but the more powerful your tools, the more it enhances your talent.

Thanks for another great video!! Here is my analysis of the 7 mics!
(PS: I did not use headphones)
At the top of my list are the surround sound capturing mics. ASMR for me is especially triggered when I feel sound moving around my head, so in terms of surpassing the ASMR threshold, HATs, Neuman, Zoom H6, and 3DIO came on top as superior for triggering ASMR.
Sitting in the middle for me (with consideration of ASMR) was the. Blue Yeti Pro. I love the intensity and distortion of sounds created by the Blue Yeti. I would say it is on par with 3DIO, however I believe that 3DIO was able to capture a more crisp and precise noise, which is a preference of mine.
Sitting at the low end of the list were 2 mics. The second to last on my list was the Rode NT-1A. I was not a complete fan of how soft the sounds were (I am not wearing headphones, so it may have been merely a factor of this), but I was not impressed with the sounds. I felt as though it was merely on the brink of scratching a surface, but was too soft to pick up the sound entirely to reach the threshold of ASMR. The last mic on my list was the mini mic. While its still a pretty decent mic, compared to the other mics, it was in my opinion lacking. The noises were muffled sometimes and way too intense the next. I enjoyed it for the unique sounds, but I still prefer the surround sound capturing microphones.
My list and my comments for the Microphones:
1. HATS (Stefan)
At the top of my list is HATS. While very much like Neuman, I feel as though the surround sound capturing was superior and the sounds were more crisp. I definitely noticed that Stefan captures more lighter sounds than Neuman and the sound qualities (to me) sounds to be a slightly higher pitch. Movement around the mic was also quite enjoyable. It was again, similar to Neuman, but it was slightly better.
On the side of looks, Hats looks like a pretty cool dude!
2. Neuman Ku 100 (Steven)
Neuman makes me with normal guys listened as well as he does. In terms of appearance, I would rate Neuman a 10/10 would look again, don’t tell Stefan, I think Steve is hotter…. Jokes aside: Neuman is an amazing quality mic! The surround sound quality is incredible and the sound produced by the recording is amazing! Its crisp and still retains some of the (bass?? May or may not be the right word)…
3. Zoom H6
This mic sounded a lot like a better version of the Blue Yeti. It was slightly more crisp and sensitive and definitely picked up breathing fairly easily and powerfully. It’s a great mic for sensitive sounds and mouth sounds for sure! However, unlike blue yeti, I am pretty sure it lacks in many of the physical tapping sounds. It shines for picking up hovering sounds thought!
4. 3 DIO
I love 3 DIO, it is honestly amazing. I feel as though the triggers presented in the video did not complement the unique attributes this mic excels in, which is tapping and contact textures. To be honest, I feel like this mic, when paired with the complimenting triggers would bump up to my #2-3, however, since it is not incredibly adaptable to most triggers (to me), I don’t think spot 4 is too far off. I had noticed that once again, the pitch of this mic seemed to be a slight bit higher.
5. Blue yeti pro
I am a fan of the slight distortion caused by the air blowing. This mic picks up sound very well and creates a unique and intense sound that I enjoy. This mic excelled in my opinion when it came to the keypad/board tapping.
6. Rode NT - 1 A (It was a more crisp blue yeti pro to me, the softer tone sound was not necessarily preferable to me. I feel as though it was consistently on the verge of scratching the threshold where I would consider an "ASMR zone," But it was never quite able to reach that point. I would love to hear the difference of this mic with headphones on, but since I can only rate it based on how it is presented using a laptop's audio, I am settling for placing this mic in 6th place and maybe re-listening to it later.
7. Mini Mic (It was too sensitive to some sounds while muffling other sounds. I remember in a different video, the mini mic sounded great, however side by side will all these impressive mics, I feel as though it was not up to the standard. Regardless of not being impressed in this video, it did shine in the other video, and so while this mic holds the last spot on this list, in my heart, it can under the right conditions rank a bit higher.

Notes: there was a wide variety of firsts and last places. The witch nails did amazing with Stefan, honestly, and were a bit too loud with some of the others. The rodes were going to be my last because they were most of the time much too quiet. Love this, and would love to see it again with more triggers!
I always liked mics with ears way more than "normal" mics they are the most pleasant
