Nice specimen, the rear sight was 1944/45, the front bayonet lug was 45 and later, IIRC.

The bayonet lug started being added at the factory in late 1944.

I got well my parents got me an M1 Carbine when I was 14 so in in 1964 I'd guess ,from DCM it was 17.50 plus 2.50 shipping $20.00. I still have this carbine carried it on duty when working robbery stakeouts augmenting the shotgun.

KOBA are you sure the barrel date is 1948 ? maybe 1943. I have never seen a 1948 barrel but i could be wrong or the barrel has been replaced in the after war rebuild. But then i don't see any rebuild marks on that one. OK thanks for showing. KOBA that is a beautiful HIGH wood stock, I would love to see that rifle all taken apart and check out the parts markings that will tell you a lot about wear the rifle has been over the years. THANKS RUSTY.
