I finally found a 2006 last March 2022. I’ve been wanting an SC for so long. It’s such a gorgeous vehicle. Only one owner and low miles barely driven. It still looks like it came off the showroom floor. White with saddle/cognac interior. It’s perfect!
We’ve owned two SC 430’s, a 2002 and a 2005. In addition to the styling and interior items mentioned in the video, mechanically these automobiles are superb. The current one we own, the 2005, rides better than many new Lexus’s and we’ve owned a few different models. My wife rarely has the top up, winter included here in Alabama. Someone will have to pry the keys from her hands in her dying days.
Went to order a new Lexus and friend told me about his 2002 SC430 which spent many years in storage. Bought it and have detailed it to showroom condition. Smooth as silk, comfy as any car I've driven, fast and has character and has a retro appeal. Like a 60's Aston Martin or Jag with real wood.
My wife has the exact 2002 car in the same colour in the UK . I have driven it a lot as it was originally my car....she borrowed it and wouldn't give it me back! I am a petrol head and think its a beaut. She absolutely adores the car as a daily drive , it might be the most underrated car of recent years. Forget all the rivals it is a Lexus, say no more. Buy one if you ever get the opportunity.

I own a 2002 sc430 blue with "baseball glove" leather and have test drove the newer ones and find myself driving off with my sc430...lol. I traded my 1995 sc400 coupe on it...another great car
I just got a 02 SC 430 and I’ve liked it since they first came out. The new Lexus cars look too cutting edge for me. The SC 430 is the perfect Lexus coupe..... luxury, comfort and reliable.
This car debut in 2001 with exact same features yes even for 2005 it's pretty impressive for it's time. But i would say for 2001 it's was way ahead of it's time.
I like the sc430 but I wish Lexus would have just updated the sc400 lines and made a convertible in that style. In my opinion I think the sc400 was gorgeous! But to answer the question....yes, the sc430 was ahead of it’s time.
In my opinion, this car would have looked dramatically better with a sizeable but not obnoxiously large spoiler. I know other folks feel differently. To me it would have compensated for the odd aspects of its shape. I would want one if my wife wasn't unusually alergic to car and truck fumes, but I'd be looking into some kind of spoiler mod for it. Nice car nonetheless.
This video makes me sad. Mine was totaled about 2 weeks ago. The best car I ever had super fast, straight piped it. so many memories flying through Nyc, super chick magnet too

I am 6’ and my head is just below the windshield top and I can see without crouching. At 6’2” your head could be close to the top of the windshield. Try to test drive one to see how you fit. You may need to crouch even with the seat all of the way back. Very tall people in most convertibles will look like Jaws from the James Bond movie with your head beyond the windshield and looking ridiculous. Might even take a rock to the head if you are really tall! Love my perfectly garaged 2002. Can’t wait for some Spring weather for a nice top down drive. Has been stored for 6 months. Looks great in the garage. Don’t know how it still works and looks much as new, and it has 120,000 miles over 18 years. Paid only 10k for it a couple of years ago. A lot of nice ones out there for 10k. The original sound system is better than great because it has a lot of nice components close to your ears, especially with the top up. My wife two sons and I all have five used Lexus V8’s. My son and I drove his 95 LS400 coast to coast and back in complete comfort. Everything still looks and works great on his car and we only paid $2500 for it. The hotel valet’s all want his baby because it is old but still looks amazing. All these need normal maintenance, and they will treat you very well. Guzzle plenty of gas. Not exactly helping global warming! The robots are coming to kill us off sooner or later anyway. They won’t need the gas or us around for anything. Won’t even need air.

Regarded as comical nowadays. They were expecting a sports car and did not get one. As far as the handling is concerned, that can be fixed by getting rid of the run flat tires

I had the timing BELT changed at 20 years old. Looked brand new but now it’s done. This car has a NON interference engine
Sorry David, but the 4.3 Lexus V8 used in these cars IS an interference engine. I'm glad you changed your timing belt.

I own a 2003 and absolutely love it. Only one problem with night lights on my radio and climate control.
I'm trying to get any idea how to fix it.
Of all the roadsters thats ever been made I put the SC 430 in the top three.

Mine has the same interior but the paint is electric blue metallic. A quality car with a silky smooth driveline and plenty of power.
This car does not have dual exhaust, it has two tailpipes.
