- Let's flip some c0p cars with superpowers and visual effects!
🚓🎥
Today we look at making green screen toy miniatures look realistic with visual effects in after effects. To help us detonate this effect to the next level, I’ll be using assets from Action VFX.
💥 ACTION VFX ASSETS 🔥

They are actually having a huge sale of 50% off so make sure you take advantage of that!
❇️ Green screen video can be challenging but with these simple tricks in after effects we can get clean assets and integrate them in an action scene with effects full of exploding debris and dust.
💻 Making miniatures look more realistic in post starts with how you shoot them and light them.
A good plate will be your starting element you need to capture. This will inform your lighting to match the toy cars with the real environment as well as camera height and placement.
After that bring all your shot elements in after effects and track your scene. Key and rotoscope your car elements and you can now combine your plate with the cars.
Then it’s all about adding detail.
Think of how things would interact or get damaged in real life. Look at reference footage and other movies with similar scenes.
A good way to blend all these elements together is by color correcting them even with simple curves and tint effects.
Another important effect to add is CC Force Motion Blur. This will add motion blur to assets that may not have it.
Overall it’s about spending time to add detail and polish and with enough patience you can get some fun results with toy miniatures.

Here's a quick breakdown of this video's topics:
1 Removing dirt from your lens in After Effects
• How to Remove Lens Dir...
This is done with the content aware tool and by using simple masks to surround and select the areas of the frame that have any lens dirt.
2 Using AI to remove compression and noise
• Denoise the Impossible...
By using the latest tools in AI we can clean up footage and restore detail in it that would've been impossible to do not too long ago.
3 Removing unwanted elements from your scene in After Effects
• How to Remove Things i...
This can be done multiple ways depending on the complexity of the shot. Your first step is to track it. This can be in 2D as in this case or a full 3D camera track for more complex moving shots. Then a layer is created to cover up the unwanted element. This can be done with the content aware fill tool or even as simply as using a solid or image to match the area being covered up. Clone stamping either in Photoshop or directly in After Effects can be useful steps for more challenging areas to cover.
4 Matching the lighting with rotoscoping and color adjustments
• GET THE FILM LOOK: Imp... (Older Video but steps apply)
This can be doing a day for night look or even subtle touches to match the lighting of two different setups lacking the consistency of the same time of day. This can become apparent when losing light at sunset for example and one side of the coverage of a dialogue is slightly different than the other side which may have been shot directly after. Even when compensating with exposure there are still some avoidable and unavoidable differences that can be cheated to look more consistent and correct to the eye.

What effect would you like to see next? Want to see the car crush vfx?
Yes
Yes please
Looks awesome!
Thank you!
EDIT: I fixed this by trimming the video within the CZcams editor 😊
ORIGINAL COMMENT:
Just realized one of the cars in the vfx disappears early. This was a last minute mistake when I was grabbing the background for the thumbnail and forgot to extend the clip back before posting. It’s so frustrating to see such a silly mistake ruin the overall shot 😤😢
You’re only human…Kris, but overall it’s a great and inspirational! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@GerbrandDiebels thank you! I was actually able to trim the tail end of that shot within the CZcams editor which is nice! Should update soon
Quick update! It’s fixed!
This is really dope!
You are so creatively gifted. This was fun !!
Thank you! It was so much fun. Thanks again! 🙏😊🙌
Thanks for the tutorial!

Incredible video bro! Love the tutorial insights too.
Thank you! Was so happy you joined and we got to do this! 🙌😊
😊😊
Take a week just learning the basics and you will be good, I been using soft soft since it was Fruity Loops back in 03, and still learn
Wow what a great video!!! ❤
Thank you!
Turned out very nice. The explorer looked very good. The crown vic toy was a bit less convincing. Probably would help to take a few 3d scans of the cars to use in combination with the miniature practical effects for some added versatility in getting the shots how you want them.
That’s a great idea! Having even a 3D scan of just the top of the car and animate that crunching up or even some doors coming off would look sick. This is definitely an effect I want to improve on. I think I’ll also dissect the cars and get plates of pieces falling and scattering. To be continued haha
Thank you again
Nice work!
Thank you!
Right here with ya, bro
The Best Explanation !!! I referred to many videos , but out of all tNice tutorials was the best I could find among all .... Also got to know many tNice tutorialngs

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
just finished making my first track! thanks bro for all the help with learning soft soft. much love
The first thing I thought as I watched the video was the actors are hot, the second was the concrete floor effect looks unrealistic 😊
What about a miniature helicopter
How much does it cost?
send you the link of it

cant believe how small the viewership is despite the content quality.
The struggle lol CZcams use to be my main source of living but that has changed. Not sure why but I’m still going to continue to make the best content I can since that is what I love doing. If views and money come, that’ll be great too haha
Model?
can u share raw footages?
I’m updating my Patreon to include this. I’ll post most personal projects footage on there
Please teach .lam 14 and would like to be an amazing DJ just like marshmallow
Not high enough camera speed for the car flip, sorry. Should have been 100-150 fps..?
the problem is when the cop cars flip they kind of look like stop motion elements
Lmao at that double shadow. It's always funny to see "vfx" work done in Ae.
why is car despair?😮
Not sure I understand
@@Kriscoart watch movie, car is flipping and disappear ( your video from car is end on after effects timeline). Mistake . But i like you work, all best friend
@@MarkoXJunior oh I see! Yes you’re right, it was a mistake I did right before posting but I was able to trim that in the CZcams editor so hopefully that will be fixed and updated soon 😊
@@Kriscoart mistakes happened everybody, and Hollywood have mistakes. You are good youtuber, because of that i said to you like a friend, no like haters 💪
@@MarkoXJunior absolutely and thank you! I know you were just pointing it out. Thank you for watching!
Na man the motion of the first car looks horrible
Do better and post it
