Great episode, in our marriage we have the similar issues.... my parents are divorced and my husband's aren't. They've been married for 50 years and mine have been divorced for about 20some. But my parents can be in same room and be respectful with there spouses. So that makes things easier but still deal with 3 Christmas 3 Thanksgiving etc. But know my husband is divorced, I'm second wife and his kids have to deal with time with mom and time with dad and time with spouse parents or boyfriends parents who are also divorced. Its crazy... and his ex and I dont get along and it's not me .... so holiday's can get crazy. Completely understand. But we survive.

This is so true and she's absolutely right. My husband loves to invite people at home and I always get mad that he won't let me know ahead of time because I am a very OC person. I love to prepare and organize everything and I get upset if they come in with a messy house. It's kinda a reflection of my being.

My husband & I have a 10 & a half year age difference, & we have had some cultural issues in our relationship. You guys really hit the nail on the head for us. My grandparents were immigrants from Italy, & I can relate to Renae & her family experience. My husband was a refugee from Iran, & his family & his open door policy, sounds so much like Steve's family experience. This was a fantastic discussion, & definitely made me rethink how I manage friends & family visiting for extended periods of time. (I don't like surprises 😂) Great discussion!!

I'm an only child and my 1st husband was the oldest of 10 children in an hispanic family - I can so relate - My oldest son was cousin #18 and 3 kids hadn't even finished school yet - When I go back to my hometown in Texas, I always stop to visit
