No matter if parents indulge and spoil their children?? It is NOT their fault when a child does this type of thing. I wonder if you are a parent? My best friend of 33 years was the best mom you could ever dream of. Yes - she DID let them "eat dessert before dinner" etc. EVERYTHING pointed to these kids being amazing, and I mean everything. Circumstances happened that her husband of 25 years (seemed to be a normal loving person) up and left and tried to take the kids that were 12 and 17. He was willing to give them anything they wanted They turned on her so fast it was breathtaking. All for money and things and priviledge. and I do not think for two seconds it was because she "let them eat dessert before dinner" They saw opportunity to get whatever they could and whatever they wanted from their dad. I do NOT think that how they were raised would turn them so evil.

I wouldn't want to be on the defense team. I'm surprised he didn't just say, look...he did it, no doubt. .then plead for less prison time. But, to attack the prosecution's case is just ineffective and may have an adverse result that will cause jurors to detest the defense for thinking they can't reason thru the obvious evidence. I'm not sure why he thought the bodies would degrade so much they wouldn't be able to determine cause of death or why he didn"t follow thru with his plan of disposing evidence. Did he get tired from all the physical and emotional exertion it took to do what he had done? Why did he go ahead and use the money to pay his bills knowing full well this was traceable and would end with his arrest. He knew he eventually would be caught..just left too much evidence. ..so why go on with the charade. He obviously was not happy after and knew the life he earlier envisioned was never to come to fruition. I hope we will learn more regarding his train of thought before, during and after this horrific event.

Joel Jrs parents coddled him and he grew to hate them. He didn’t love them and had no problems killing them. He blamed them for his inabilities to get along independent of them. Then when they cut him off, the hate he always felt took action.
