    This Audi is all there. Just needs everything plugged back in, back pulled out and a good detail. This is the prime example of German engineering. These Audi’s have the best minds at Volkswagen all working together to deliver one of the best looking and performing cars on the road. The fact that it started like it did after sitting for months, low on oil etc is a solid testament to that.

      how is it even a write off if so? just looks like someone rear ended and then the car has went into the car in front, same thing happened to my friends vauxhall corsa and that survived even with similar looking damage. (haven't watched through full video as i post so not sure what exactly is the case).
      all i can think is the shop thought its not worth rebuying official parts from audi and making next to zero money back on reselling and refixing.

      Typically if the person insuring the car has a "new for old/like new" cover, if their car is under a certain age and the insurance deems it more expensive than 30-50% of the market value, they will just sell the damaged car and buy a new car

    Sorry sam, you didn't hear me yelling at the screen about that jumper bar being disconnected. One thing about electrical: follow the path. • @muskokamike127
      @muskokamike127 Před 6 lety +7

      I wouldn't say NO reason, but the way they do what they do certainly is. Like the electronic release for the hatch....a key in a hole works 99.8% of the time AND when there's no power. Do we really need 7 electronically controlled suspension settings? For eg: the battery went dead in my truck. Replaced the battery and then my power windows wouldn't work. Why? because they needed a number of start/stop cycles for the ECU to "remember" I had power windows. Why are the windows connected to the ECU? It's a simple switch connected to a motor. Nothing else needs to be done. No printed circuits, no capacitors or ICs required.
      Like that explosive disconnect....know what worked fine for 60 years? the driver turning the engine off if they got into an accident.

      The Battle of Little Bighorn (AKA Custer's last stand) happened from June 25 - June 26 1876. During the battle Lt. Col. Custer led the US Army's 7th Calvary to overwhelming defeat. Custer deciding that an easy victory was at hand decided to leave his artillery behind and attack what he thought was a small group . In reality he was attacking a combined force of 2000-3000 Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Sioux warriors. Custer was killed early in the battle and the 7th Calvary suffered more than 50% casualties.

    I just wanted to say thanks for these videos! I was EXTREMELY hesitant with working on a German vehicle let alone an expensive one from a salvage yard. However, you inspired me to purchase and fix up a 2014 Audi S5. I must admit, I never knew just how much of a bargain this method of car buying truly is and how much knowledge can be attained from attempting such a project. Already added a 2012 Mercedes E350 and a 2015 Toyota Tacoma to the fleet of salvaged cars when at one point in time, I was thinking to buy one less-than-amusing car for the price of these three combined! Thanks and keep up the awesome work!

If you have a bosster (auxiliary power unit), open the hood connect to the jump start and the car start.... and whith the blown relay ( in Germany we have another name ), ther its a trick. I work whith acident (damage) cars in a big company, i now what i am seing, many cars ( Mercedes, Audi, Fiat, bmw...) have a blown relay in diferent ways. Nobody will learn you these tricks you just need to discover them.

    • @jmk6818
      @jmk6818 Před 6 lety

      Heinrich Ranches would be a bad idea to rev the car lol. And he probably did not want to start it many times in case the Engine was missing some fluids. And Aldo starting the car would require a little more than that jumpbox

    • @heinrichr
      @heinrichr Před 6 lety +1

      How sure are you about "was missing some fluids?" The car was indicated running lol. So get your facts straight first nigga.

    • @mohammadmalik317
      @mohammadmalik317 Před 6 lety

      Heinrich Ranches just by the coolant level being low, that to me is an indication that other fluids might be low as well

      gianfrancoa That's what I wondered. Was there no way to charge the battery in the engine bay?

    • @Ivonmorr
      @Ivonmorr Před 6 lety +2

      Paul Obee You can but you can't do anything if that safety fuse is blown.

    • @paule.383
      @paule.383 Před 6 lety +1

      Ivon Morrissey I should have watched the entire video before posting. The safety block that was blown definitely prevents any underhood charging. Sam did it the right way to fix it, unfortunately for him it wasn't easy.

    • @leesweet9
      @leesweet9 Před 6 lety

      Right, normally you can do stuff from the remote connections in the ‘right’ locations (under the hood) but the collision blows the pyro fuse and you have to go direct to the battery (and short where the fuse was).

      Positive and negative post in the car
      Positive is in a flap under the windshield and the negative just sticks out from the Motor

    One small question: Why is this video uploaded AFTER yesterday's one? It depicts things that happened before yesterday's video. Or am I stupid? Do you always upload out of order? :)
