- The annual Ford Forums Drag Racing Nationals got away to a late start due to bad weather but once the track was dry competitors were able to give their cars a run down the strip.

The Track only had a quick prep, Racing Friday night was cancelled due to rain and Saturday the racing was supposed to start at 11am but it took until 2pm for the track to being sort of ready. The Jet Van broke down so that couldn't be used to dry the track. At 1pm about 50 cars did laps of the track to dry it out. At 2pm it was as goid as it was going to get. Heathcote staff did what they could to get thr event going as a lot of people had long drives to get there and some came from interstate. It's the first time in 20 or so years of the FORD Nats that rain ruined the event. Ps the old Holden Commodore Wagon that was running had a barra in it.

Is there a way to stop a car from twisting it's chassis under the weight of the driver being one side? Looks like that even might force the car unevenly to one side or something

Still fastest car there on 17psi... Pity about the weather with so many cars we only made 1 run and 2nd blew an intercooler pipe. By time it was fixed it was too late.

I have 450rwkw and have car consistent 10.5s 10.6s with wheel spin in 1st n 2nd and yes with a high flowed gtx35, my point is so many brag about these ludicrous dyno numbers from them but dont have the time or mph to back it up. Few people being taken for rides me thinks with the 500+rwkw figures
Comonsensaintsocomon, did you miss the part about the track still being wet? Several of those cars have been low 10's and 9's.

A Barra is faster then most LS engines out there mate, you'd need to properly build a LS, it's just a fact that 6s can keep up with and beat 8s

LS, depending on specific version, is from almost 50% to close to 80% bigger - and the six's are still running OEM cam' and converter... change those and...
Anyway, while a LS is actually a VERY good engine* (and I'm a Chev' guy), in NA form they lose out badly to even a mildly modded Barra - certainly with just the mod' s you mention. To be competitive they need to have some serious up-rating.
*If I were to get back into this sort of stuff (old fart) I expect that would be the route I would take, supercharged as, personally, I don't care for turbo's - that doesn't make me blind to their potentialreg ardless of what it says on the valve cover.
Take a joke guys. Damn barra fan boys. Ofc a turbo motor will generally make power easier then a na motor.
