- Just a playthrough of Rockman 4 Minus Infinity I did in 82 minutes 12 seconds.
This is an excellent romhack with some outstanding design that sets it apart from any other romhack, practically its own game in its own right.
This run is deathless, beats the secret super boss and meets all the conditions for a perfect hero score of 100. Played on the normal difficulty setting on version 0.02
If you've never played the game before I highly recommend it.

It's not the most amazing speed run ever, a speed run would defeat Skull Man first and use Hell Wheel at every opportunity. Still, this game is very challenging to beat. - Hry

Sure it's impressive but I much preffer the original Nes games.

That Adventure Island jingle in Skull Man took me by surprise the first time playing this hack.
I love how he does the W S Adaptor and so that he'll have no energy then Rock does it right after wards in the cutscene. And holy hell he killed the Petite Robot Mastes fast with the use of the ? Dagger.

Mega Man 4 is my favourite NES and MM game, and when I learned of this I was like, "oh man I gotta try this" and I made the mistake of assuming that it'd be just a simple romhack with the same bosses and all, so of course I started the game with toadman! boy was I mistaken 8D;
I actually managed to make it to dust man in the original order before I got distracted by other games. I should go back to that!

I just want to know, do you fight Shadow Man at the very end of the game by some criteria or is it introduced on the 0.02. I don't play this game since long ago and I think I only played the 0.01

The Super Shadow Man boss fight was introduced in v0.02, the only criteria for fighting him is to not die during the run.
Defeating him is required for the perfect 100 hero score, if you lose the fight you don't get a re-match either.
If you beat him though, you can still die after the fight and it won't prevent you from getting the hero score points.
There was a leaked release between v0.01 and v0.02, Super Shadow Man was present in this release but the requirement was no damage instead of no death.
So yeah, if you die at any point, you fight the Needle Man / Gemini Man Chimerabot as normal.

the planets boss at ring man's stage is too similar to lololo and lalala from kirbys dreamland,kirby superstar,kirby superstar ultra, and the mini game in mass attack. i think the developer loved kirby so much they changed their forms to a megaman ' ish style.

...wait a second! You got hit quite a lot! Everywhere I look, the internet says that if I get hit/hurt even ONCE, Shadowman superboss won't appear. Does this mean all I really need to do is not die? Because that is a MOUNTAIN off my shoulders!
That's right, you see the no damage run requirement for the Shadowman super boss was only in a leaked version of the game.
In the latest official release, v0.02, you simply have to do a no death run to challenge Shadowman in Wily 4.

White Raven More than likely, this game takes music from many different sources, some of which are obscure Japan-only Famicom and Super Famicom titles.
Wily Stage 2 uses a Gradius song, it's one of my favourite songs in the game.

0.02 I only played on 1.01 and I done that as well but Super Shadow Man Fight is the hardest and I had to use like 3, 4 or 5 E Tanks on that boss because of how hard it was to beat without losing any lives.

Normally it's a very hard boss fight, but the item you get from defeating Super Shadow Man turns all attacks into critical hits. That's why it went down so quickly.

This is awesome. Flashbackgames.com can put this onto an nes cart for home console play but it's expensive since it uses a Gemfire or Romance of the Three Kingdoms 3 cart for a donor. They charge almost 80 bucks for it. The fee is for the donor cart since those games are very hard to find these days.
Have you tired Mega Man Unlimited? The guy who made that game spent years on it as well and it's all original. It's crazy hard as well. I think it's a flash game though, just like the Street Fighter X Mega Man game. I think Retrozone sells flashcarts for the nes, so it might be a possibility...
I saw Mega Man Unlimited played on a stream, whilst the player wasn't too good at Mega Man games anyway, it was abundantly clear how poorly designed it was with use of excessive stage hazards and excessive enemies that act as too much of a roadblock.
RupeeClock Yeah the hazards were the things I noticed the most. It's still cool though how the guy who programmed it made new enemies and bosses.

You mean Enker's weapon? You only get that temporarily. Once it runs out, that's it. You need it to get to the secret Wave Man fight so you can get the Balloon item early.

Actually a speedrun would start with dive man, his weapon pierces skull man's shield and balloon saves lots of time.
Too true, I've been doing that with subsequent runs since this video.
I've gotten my time to sub-70 by in-game timer, real time I think is actually 8 minutes shorter.
Although I usually end up starting with Dive Man, then Drill Man, then Skull Man, since Water Cutter is very effective against Drill Man and Drill Torpedo is very effective on Skull Man.

But then getting the Skull Amulet would be impossible until Wily 3.

Not really a big deal if you are speed running, you have an abundance of recovery options anyhow.
A speedrun may not necessarily collect all items either, unless you are going for a perfect hero score as well.

Inside the archive is a couple of roms, mmc3 and mmc5 are the same game just programmed slightly differently, it won't matter if you are using an emulator.

That's right, this game likes to fry your brain and get you all confused! There were a few instances in this hack that I thought "wait a minute..." and I realize it was really clever way of placing normal bosses with similar designs and powers as minibosses.

you can toggle a lot of difficulty stuff now... like an easy mode, select number of lives and e-tanks so the game is accessible even if you don't want a challenge hack or you can turn up the difficulty if you do, so now the excuse "it's too hard" some people I've heard from saying is no longer valid., not sure if engrish mode was available before but now it is with a promise of an english mode coming soon
