Ziz your everything explained got me through the entire game last season. All content done on EA champ, on my first time playing poe. These videos are invaluable to new players and you deserve an award for this incredible work.
You really are a gem to this community. And I'm GLAD new players have someone like you to follow if they start out this game.
A gem? You mean... a Support Gem? :P
Tip: In the UI, you can turn on Support Gem info which lists what skill gems (that you have equipped) is supported when hovering over any support gem. It really helped me as a new player without having to first purchase the gem.
Since you wanted feedback: I SEVERELY appreciate you doing map info. Entering maps is the only part of the game I've really struggled with (and obviously anything after that), but holy moly have I struggled with it. Definitely the best part of the whole video for folks like me.
Thank you so much for this "play along". I have watched a lot of your videos and this is the first one, where I pulled through and managed to comfortably play to maps (and "in" maps). It really helped that you went further and the build is incredible noob and resource friendly. Please keep doing this format, I love it.
The only way this could be enhanced, would be a "Part 2" with focus on the build and endgame content:
- efficient way to complete Atlas and a "good" way to find your own "Atlas build"
- what to focus on for stats (how to identify a "good" from a mediocre item) maybe with Path of Building example
- resources to "save" and which ones to "use"
- what resource should you use/ how to complete your build cheaply to have a good time mapping/ advancing
- mechanics (f.e. bestiary) that are good to focus on for the build/ worth doing in early mapping
- and maybe a how to avoid hording a bunch of junk XD

Especially going as far as into maps really helped me finally liking the game, i've been one of those people who always struggled during the campaign and never managed to finish it and the looming hurdle of figuring out how to get into maps afterwards always seemed so high. Thank you so much for this! Having a step by step tutorial on game mechanics like this is so necessary in this game. Only just started really getting into PoE and the difference between just messing around and this guide is incredible. Like the loot filter and items that you can trade for Chromatic Orbs for instance, never had a clue about it till your video. Just cannot thank you enough for putting in the time and effort to really dive into PoE for us new players!!

Hey Ziz! I gotta say, this is by far the best...best video I have seen! You asked at one point in your video if this would be worth it and then for CZcams, new players could pause and keep up with you. That is exactly what I did. Granted, I am only 3 1/2 hrs into your video (12 hours into my gameplay), I learned more here than the first 25 hours from my first character going solo. Bless your soul! I will be back to finish the last 3 hours... So probably another 10 or so hours for me... constantly picking up loot and heading back to town, seeing shiny objects and getting side tracked lol.

I have a few things that I found really helpful early on that I don't think you mentioned.
1. Why it's not worth picking up items during the campaign. As a new player, I didn't understand that certain modifiers and the scaling of those modifiers were locked behind certain item levels. Once I understood that, a lot of the fomo disappeared since I realized I couldn't get the best items anyway!
2. The math behind why res capping is so imperative.
3. A small section at the beginning of installing path of building, importing the build, etc. would probably be really nice for new players.
4. Explaining the mentality of your build needing to be only good enough for the current content could be helpful. When I started playing I was constantly looking for incremental upgrades during the campaign even when my damage and survivability were more than good enough. This also can help with defeating the fomo.
(I had some other ideas but can't remember them at the moment. I'll edit this comment if I remember!)
Overall though, playing alongside this video really is a fantastic way for someone to get started playing the game. Thanks for making great stuff Ziz!
Really appreciate the map section - I always find the transition into maps the most jarring moment, where I need to suddenly really bump up my gear and organise my skills after the final few acts being pretty easy to cruise through once you've got some four-links set up to go.
I want to say, Zizaran, thank you for making this video. I have yet to finish it as I am following along.
As a player who has not played this game since early days - (kicking myself now for not sticking to it but life happens) - I was feeling overwhelmed with the amount of content and systems that I was seeing through videos. But I started playing for entertainment at the end of last season just playing around with skills seeing whats around.
Now with the new season, I wanted to try to get to later content. Been following along for the last couple of days in the evening. Been having fun with this setup and playstyle, something I never would of done blind.
Just hit Act 4, and just got the Leer Cast Festival Mask unique item (and the Ungil's Gauche Boot Knife, but it is not a bow so I stashed it), got good numbers on the mask, tried rolling the sockets seeing it is Dex+Int item. Managed to get 2G+1B, done 1 attempt with the orb of fusing and got the 3 sockets linked.
Been following majority of the steps taken although I managed to get a few levels ahead as I was killing more through areas as I would get lost, so it felt right to fight through the enemies to head the right way. I have had a few unique drops but this item was the first one I got that had Dex requirement so all the others I did not identify.
I had already bought stash tabs in the last sale, but for the purpose of following this video I am only using the starter ones until after I finish the video and start picking my own paths.

This is so great and useful for me that wants to begin playing PoE as a new player, i started last league following a RF juggernaut build and i want to get even deeper into the game and start mapping with a new build in the new league and this will be so tremendously helpful for me!
I started playing 2 weeks ago, went in blind and completed the campaign, now I've created a second character following a build guide and also done some research on answering some questions I thought of during my first playthrough.

Ziz, you're the king for helping newbs and people like myself. I've been playing for 10 years, but casually, so I don't have time to examine every single detail of every build with every league change, and figure it out for myself. You help me enjoy the game with my limited time and that's a huge service to the player base that no one really performs.
One question I have about the build is why we're going for minion speed. Totems don't count as minions so any speed boost for minions doesn't apply to them.

I just started POE and I am using this video as I am playing and I cannot put into words how helpful this video is. Idk how popular it would be, but it would be cool to see your uncut stream vods from a league start after watching this video. You reference a lot of, I will be doing this or that differently etc... it would be cool to see.

I had never thought about how valuable the full div card stack on maps could be before now. Added yet another bookmark to my poe folder. It sounds like an insane amount of time to spend doing trials but I bet you are a lot more familiar with mechanics and map layouts compared to the average person who finished their campaign. I wish I played that immersive

New-ish player here. Thanks for this video/series, the build etc. I played PoE a few years ago (standard to lvl43) and got frustrated by the skill tree and the complexity. I know you didn't have to make this video - it wouldn't have altered your sub count or impacted your life you in any meaningful way had you not - but you did anyway. Respect for that.

Thanks very much for this awesome effort. This is my first time play PoE and thought this would be a great way to learn the ropes. I do think I could be doing it wrong though. The build I loaded from the linked EAC vid is quite different, in the beginning at least. But still having a blast and kinda don't care if it bricks. I'll just start again. This season will be for learning.

Bruv, Just decided to give POE a try, and it was a little overwhelming at first but I have been getting by. This video is such a good QoL improvement from how I was playing. I just got to Act 2 so hadnt spent too much time in yet. Much appreciated.
Ziz..I love your builds! I've been watching you for quite a while and I find your playthroughs super helpful. I have tried to play poe like 5 times and although the playthroughs are helpful for sure it's not the leveling I get stuck on it's the end game where I get confused and get stuck/frustrated. I've decided to play your EA Champion For a league starter for Necropolis and have followed your build so far and have been doing good. I'm lvl 86 and pushing through act 5 ish maps now. What I really wish you had was a step by step playthrough from once you get to maps to end game..that's where I need help at as a semi new player. Until you do one of those I guess I could just play back through your twitch videos and see if I can figure out how you progress that way.

Very inciteful build. Just started my own one got to level 28 last night. I’m following a slightly different build tree that I got off path of builder hopefully it’s just as good.
Realised the build I’m doing isn’t actually different just skips the 1st lot of refunds.

You should’ve went over you preferred atlas tree for this build and this has been the best starting experience I’ve ever had in Poe. It made me get back into the game
